After lunch at nearby Shaya, we popped into Trendz. The staff member inside let us browse, including our seven-year-old daughter. My wife bought a work dress and a purse for a friend. It's a great little store!

LOVE this store! They have the cutest accessories and better prices than other stores. My daughter and I come here for anything we need for holidays/special events. You won't be disappointed!

My daughter and her friend wanted to go to Lakeside Mall. It was such a nice day I asked them to take a walk on Magazine Street first. A friend had recommended Trendz and she was right. My daughter loved it. She spent about $25 and left with a bunch of stylish accessories & a huge smile on her face. We've been looking for a purse she likes but had no luck previously. Well today in Trendz she found one she loved & it cost me $30. Very inexpensive trip.

Cute costume jewelry & accessories store on a great block of Magazine! Prices are great earrings & necklaces starting around $5, just know that it's never going to be an heirloom piece and will prob last a handful of wears. But if you're looking for a few dollars of happiness that won't increase your waistline, pop in here! They also have on trend handbags, vests, and great seasonal items (currently Mardi Gras wigs & hairpieces/headbands) at really reasonable prices. For example, I saw a white long sleeved sweatshirt with muted Mardi Gras colored stripes across the chest for $28, while I had paid $36 at Fleurty Girl, several blocks down. The 20 or so pairs of shoes they sell are cheap and prob not worth your time, but there are sunglasses, flash tats, candles, and lots of other accessories to keep you shopping without breaking the bank. Very friendly service as well. Just go in knowing you get what you pay for!

The boutique has been open for 10 years. I had been eating at the place on the corner all this time and it just hit me to walk over. I entered and to my surprise I have a new guilty fall pleasure. TrendZ has the most fun faux glitzzy accessories ( kind of amazing). Great place for holiday shopping. Hats & handbags are also sold there but the jewelry has my soft spot. There it goes, short & sweet.

While waiting for my boyfriend to complete his eye exam, I wandered in this cute little shop. And I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised with such great quality items at such low prices. No....I'm serious, the prices were low! Stylish tennis for like $17. I bought two very cute Louisiana/Nola necklaces. I paid $16 for both. Such a cute shop for gifts. While browsing I seen tennis, heels, boots, flats, lots of sweaters, tons of jewelry, purses and sunglasses awesome accessories! Very trendy and up to date items. I'll definitely visit again. If your in the area....give them a visit. You won't be disappointed!!

When I worked at a Pandora store in Chicago several years ago, I was made aware that every city has their exclusive charms, and I knew I needed a New Orleans one. The sales associate with red hair (she never gave me her name) who helped us was really sweet, it didn't take long for her to notice that I needed some help, and she even left the charms out for me to look/touch while she went to grab her glasses. I can appreciate her for trusting that I wouldn't walk right out the store with the product, and the one charm that caught my eye was the Cathedral with a blue backdrop. She was sweet to explain to us that the cathedral is right around the corner just walking distance from the shop, and we actually saw it right by Jackson Square on our way to Bungalows. I love how this is a boutique but they also carry so many different brands of jewelry (Alex & Ani, Brighton, etc), and they had a designated Pandora section that's visible right when you enter. I'd recommend Bungalows to anyone in the area looking for some Pandora charms or a boutique.

Then I found out from the shop attendant that the state flower of Louisiana is the Magnolia! What??? My boyfriend's mom was born & raised in NOLA and loved our dog. She has been gone for a year and half, so finding this out strangely makes me feel connected to her and that she is still around. :*) Anyway, the sweet shop guy asked me to tell him the story of how my dog and I found each other. I recounted the tale of how I found her at PAWS Chicago, where she came from originally (Oklahoma), that she had a brother named "Steel", how she saved me from a life of stress, and then our connection to NOLA. I always appreciate when someone can create a warm and fuzzy moment. So thank you, Shop Guy! The collar is high quality all around - material and construction. I have purchased MANY custom collars for my baby girl and this has been the best so far. It's worth the money because I know it will last for a long time. I will be checking out their website for Christmas gift ideas since we won't be back until next year!

I'll probably be heading back to the online store for more gifts for upcoming birthdays. Fans of LSU, Bama, Tulane, SMU (oddly), Florida and other southern colleges can find some neat things here, too. NOLA Couture even can do custom designs for you (your school, business logo, etc.), and shipping is free for orders over $65. Prices are not cheap (ranging from $10 for a laser etched glass to $95 for a loomed scarf), but the quality of the all the goods appears solid. If you are looking for $10 T-shirts about drinking on Bourbon, this isn't your shop, but then you knew that!
