I'm not sure how to feel about this place. On one hand, the clothing is gorgeous. On the other hand, I felt less than welcome when I shopped here. I was in here looking around and hoping to find some new clothes for my New Year wardrobe. I was dressed down, having spent the entire day running errands and finishing Christmas shopping. Upon walking in, the woman working kind of looked me over and didn't say "hi" or anything. However, I did notice that she greeted other customers. I didn't think much of it and I just looked around as I normally do, but I did find it kind of weird. The clothing here is lovely and they have a wide selection of things from casual to dressy. I saw a lovely red dress that I am actually considering purchasing just so I have it for any fancy event that might come up. The clothes are a little pricier, but I can tell that they're worth it because the quality is outstanding. Because they're located in old Metairie, I would recommend dressing up a little when shopping here. Otherwise, you're on your own as far as help is concerned. read more

This experience was so disappointing that I feel other customers should know what to expect. I purchased an expensive necklace online, and when it arrived, it was missing the clasp entirely, making it impossible to wear. When I contacted customer service, I expected them to immediately apologize and offer either a replacement or a full refund. Instead, they told me they had photographed the necklace before shipping and that the clasp was visible in their photo...strongly implying that the necklace left their store intact and casting doubt on my report. As a customer, it was incredibly frustrating to feel as though I had to defend my honesty rather than have my legitimate concern addressed. Their proposed solution was equally disappointing. Rather than replacing the defective item or issuing a refund, they said they would contact the designer, obtain a replacement clasp, and mail the part to me so I could have the necklace repaired. I was astonished that they expected me to coordinate repairs on a brand-new item that arrived unusable. I purchased a finished piece of jewelry - not a repair project. The responsibility for correcting a defective or incomplete product belongs with the retailer, not the customer. Quality products should come with qualitycustomer service. Instead, I was left with an unusable necklace, my integrity questioned, and no meaningful effort to make the situation right. Let's start by saying this boutique is lovely. The location and set up of the store is very appealing. They have a Beautiful selection of women's clothing! Absolutely stunning pieces! There is something here for just about any occasion. I experienced very good service as well. Prices vary, but some items may give you a slight sticker shock (lol) but the clothing here is worth it. Quality pieces. They even carry shoes! Nice selection of those also. My issue is that most items don't come over certain sizes. Mostly smaller sizes are readily available. And those that are sized as larger sizes may not actually fit some figures. I needed a size larger in a more formal dress, than was available on the rack. The sales person got my number and said she'd call me and let me know if the maker of the dress had one available. However, I never received a call about the dress either way. It would have been polite and good service just to call and let me know. That way I could have continued my search sooner. But perhaps that's just me. To summarize: Beautiful things. Nice location. Lovely ambiance. Items for all occasions, including shoes. Limited availability of sizes. Service could be a bit more polite. read more

Very unfortunate customer service.... I purchased a suede jacket online from FEBE for an event. I love the jacket - however it is defective. The first time I wore it (at the event, just days after I received it) I noticed a small gash/hole in the sleeve. I called the store the next day and advised that there was a hole/gash in the fabric. They said send pictures, which I did. They then responded via email, accusing me of wearing the jacket and causing the defect and reminding me that I wore it and therefore cannot return it. To be clear, it isn't noticeable just looking at the jacket or I would have taken it off immediately. And, I wasn't trying to return it - I was trying to get help with an incredibly expensive jacket that I received with a hole in it. I called to speak to a manager - that was about 4 days ago and no response. I will not shop at FEBE again. read more

I ordered a designer dress for a wedding, it came promptly and beautifully packed but was too small. when I tried to return it I only then discovered the will not simply refund on a return ONLY store credit! so I ordered the next size. but the dress that came must have been a 2nd. the floral fabric was not aligned well, it did not look beautiful but I'm now stuck having spent $500. This happened a little bit ago however I feel the need to share it now. This shop fat shamed me, and no I am not overdramatizing the situation. I came in to this shop looking for a very specific dress I completely intended to buy (I already tried it on I fit a large perfectly) and when I asked the lady where to find it she said "oh we have that dress but I'm not going to tell you where it is because I can PROMISE you we don't have your size. We don't carry more than a large". I was completely and utterly baffled. They sat there and laughed in my face. NEVER come to this shop unless your ready to be shamed. I'm not sure how they are still in business. A worker who makes commission should not be commenting on others appearances if they want to make a good paycheck. Yes, yes, we all have a disdain for super suburb, Metairie, but FeBe is on that little stretch of Metairie Rd that has some great shopping gems. It's got a great selection of high end jeans, cute tops and dresses for special occasions. It's a fun boutique to splurge on. The staff is fun and helpful, we had a pretty intensive discussion about jeans and the different brands and fits. Which is important if you are going to go in on such spendy jeans. This is place where the pro shoppers go, if you are a sensitive shopper, buck up or don't go. I also had gotten my favorite red lipgloss here, unfortunately, I used it so much that both the sticker on the bottom fell off and the writing on the tube rubbed away, and next time i went, they had removed their makeup. So i'm sad about that. But whenever I'm in Metairie, I def make sure to pop in. read more

When I'm in New Orleans and want to pick up a few pieces to jazz up my budget conscious wardrobe, I head over to FeBe in Old Metairie. Note, if you're a tourist, this is not your best bet - It's in more of a residential area and not near, say, downtown or the French Quarter. I always take a few minutes to gaze longingly at the racks downstairs but then head upstairs where I know I'll have more luck. A large part of this small shop's loft area is their sale section. I always walk away with a great find. Granted it's still not cheap, but the pieces are fantastic for adding a little kick to my look. FeBe appeals to younger and older shoppers. My younger sister as well as my mom love it -- okay granted my mom is pretty trendy. They carry everything from cocktail gowns to swimsuits to the perfect jeans. I've gone in for a formal dress and found the purse, stockings and earrings to go with it. Most important to me is that unlike some other boutiques in New Orleans, the sales clerks are exceedingly kind and helpful - there's no snotty "what the heck are you doing here" glances. read more

Old Metairie Rd. is an easy and great place to shop it you don't want to deal with Magazine St. or Canal Place parking. On my lunch break, I walked into FeBe to find a dress for a wedding I have this weekend. I was looking for a specific look, since it is an outside wedding at a beautiful farm in Kentucky. Something light and airy, right? Within 30 seconds two sales people (possibly owners) checked me up and down! I wasn't in a business suit but I also wasn't in "Pretty Woman pre nice lady shop". I felt uncomfortable, but endured it because a friend had given me a 20% off coupon, and I wanted to use it. I don't know if they were in between the season's, but they didn't have much to choose from. I tried on several dresses, and found one really beautiful dress, but it was a little small and was the last dress they had. So honestly, I was happy to spend my money somewhere else. If you want to be treated like you just walked into a private club that you don't belong to go to Febe. If you want to compete with the preferred customers just so you can buy expensive designer clothing then Febe is your store. I have been several times and it's always the same.
