At one point this restaurant was closed however I was told that it reopened July 29, 2022. The hours are Monday- Thursday 11am-8pm Friday 11am-6pm Saturday and Sunday it is open from 12 pm- 5pm. This store was missed by parents and students. You have to stop by and order you a nice sub. The smell of fresh bread cooking was what made me stop by to grab me something to eat. They have French and Wheat bread also they have a sandwich called Unwich which is made inside of lettuce the same way as made on the French bread. Now they only carry cold subs however they're great. In my experience, this Jimmy John's is the original Jimmy John's. Because I was living across the street (Tower III) when this store opened, my opinion may be SLIGHTLY biased. However, I just recently revisited this Jimmy John's the last time I was on the UCF campus and it is still one of my favorites for a few reasons. Reason #1: The workers enthusiastically greet you as soon as you walk in the door. I had almost forgotten this was a "Jimmy John's thing" until I walked in the door of this UCF location and got yelled at. While it may be unsettling if you've never been there before, personally I think it livens up the atmosphere and gets you pumped to eat a delicious sandwich. Reason #2 (applies to all JJ locations): They play satellite radio in the store, and it is usually always on an upbeat, fun station. Particularly on the UCF campus, it is always a plus to hear college rock radio. Reason #3 (also applies to all JJ locations): Fast service. As a few other Yelpers have pointed out, JJ prides themselves on being fast. And you would think that after having been to several of them, this wouldn't always be the case. Wrong--it's still such fast service that it blows your mind. Faster than fastfood, even. Also, gotta love their equally fast delivery until all hours of the morning. Reason #4: The Beach Club. Staff seemed very bothered by my presence and questions. I understand that they're trying to be quick when making orders, but when I tried to make a modification to an ingredient on my sandwich (directly after I asked for it), an employee visibly rolled his eyes. My questions and service were both rushed. I didn't realize that asking for clarification on my sandwich would cause such annoyance. I also had to wait for an employee to fill up his cup of tea before I could fill my own soft drink, which was the cherry on top of an unprofessional experience overall. Whenever I come here or order from here I get the beach club. It's hands down my favorite sub from here! -The Beach Club- has turkey, provolone, avocado (spread), cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. It may sound pretty simple but it's really refreshing and not heavy. It's great when studying or when you're just feeling hungry. The subs/clubs from here are all filling and great. I think what really makes them amazing is the really soft and delicious French bread that they make the clubs with. My only issue with this jimmy johns is that the employees can be a little rude sometimes when you go in the store (the delivery guys are always nice). When I was last here I noticed that there was a trash can swarming with bees right outside of the door. So we went and told the employee at the register who said "I know... There's nothing we can do" in a very rude and angry tone. I should probably add that the double doors to the restaurant were wide open. Later into my meal I noticed that there was a bee repeatedly hitting the glass window trying to go back outside. Only to see another bee fly in and fly under my table (I was sitting at the furthest point from the doors along the glass windows). I didn't pay any attention to the bee that flew under the table but a few seconds later I felt something going up the leg of my pants... A BEE! I stayed calm and shook my leg gently waiting for the bee to fly out. Luckily they did and I didn't hurt them (and they didn't hurt me). After the bee flew out I noticed that there were around 7 dead bees below my table. WHAT!? I wasn't even sitting close to the entrance. The sadder part was that the bees that flew in were trying to carry out the bodies of the dead bees but couldn't. I was enraged at the sight of this. Not only because if I had been allergic to bees and stung I could've gone into anaphylaxis (I have two friends who are UCF students and allergic to bee stings). But also because there were dead bees on the floor, and they weren't just under my table. My fiancé went up to the employees and told them all about what just happened and you know what they said? "There is nothing we can do." How about closing the doors that are wide open?! It can't be that hard to close two doors (that's how the bees are flying in). Plus it's blistering hot outside and the A/C is blasted trying to keep up with how hot it is. They honestly need to get smarter employees who can think critically and close doors. Someone could get stung and I honesty feel bad that all those bees were dying because they couldn't get out. Overall, I don't see myself coming back here anytime. They can also substitute the bread for a lettuce wrap for a low carb/healthier option which I have done a few times before. It is affordable to eat here and you get plenty of food. I've been wanting to try Jimmy John's since I've some heard good things. I must say I was not impressed. Ordering was quick and my sandwich was made fast but it was a let down. I thought for the price it should be more substantial. In fact, the sandwich consisted mostly of bread. The bread was thick cut and good but it came with just a hint of turkey, lettuce, two teeny tiny tomato slices and sprouts. I didn't know tomatoes came that small! I waited 45 min to receive my food (which has never happened at this location - normally only takes 15 min), and when it arrived, I was missing a drink and given the wrong sandwich. To remedy the situation, they sent a complimentary cookie along with my missing drink, and then sent a separate runner right away with my correct sandwich and my money back. I must start by saying if this was strictly based off the food I would give it 10000 stars. The Beach Club on French bread was to die for. With that being said the service was lacking immensely. I enjoy being greeted when I come in especially if myself and my two friends are the only people in the establishment but I was welcomed by not one worker of the 4. A smile and some personality with the order taking process definitely wouldn't hurt either. On top of the previously noted flaws within the first few moments of my visit here they forgot to make my friends food. She sat and waited... And waited... And waited some more until finally she asked what happened and all the guy at the counter said was " oh I didn't see it"... The workers are all pretty friendly when you come in and the food is pretty fresh. The chips and cookies are pretty good and there are some cheap items which are great for a student on a budget. BETTER THAN GREAT! My family loves subs but it has been hit or miss lately, until now. My Fiancé always talks about the Jon Smith subs in West Palm and how he wished they would gave one here. Well to our surprise he ran across Jon Smith in Oviedo. He took me today hoping it was as good as he remembered, and it was not. IT WAS BETTER!!! We were first greeted by Vierelie whose smile lit up the whole room and was so friendly and it really made our visit great from the start. Then the food, it was BETTER THAN GREAT! The fries are just like my Grandmother would make, and the steak from the steak sub I had was just like she had placed it in freshly baked bread from her own oven. It was the best sub I have ever had, truly. We met the owner Troy and his son, and their passion for the food, and store's service was infectious. It was a family affair with Troy's other half Tina in the kitchen as well. They made us feel like one of the family. Who does that anymore? If you want more than great food, value, service, and community what are you waiting for?
