I am kind of obsessed with Jimmy John's, and you can take that for whatever it's worth to you. I felt like I needed to tell someone about my obsession, so why not tell everyone in the Yelp world who is willing and able to hear. If you've never been to Jimmy John's, it's all about the bread. They keep things really simple by having a menu that is really a combination of about a half dozen different deli meats (tuna is an exception). That's fine with me. All I'm looking for at Jimmy John's is a solid sandwich with fresh ingredients, fixings that I can count on, and of course, the delicious bread. This particular Jimmy John's floored me with their bread. I must have come in at the absolute perfect time, because the bread was as good as I've ever tasted. Whatever they're doing here at the JJ's in downtown Hotlanta, they're doing it right. I hope I find another business trip that will take me back to this lunch spot. There is only one Handicap parking spot and Jimmy John thinks it's for their Delivery people to park in. When they don't park at the Handicap parking, they still park illegally right next to it. I think Jimmy John's is a pretty decent sandwich chain. I'm not a huge fan of the bread they use, but the other ingredients are generally fresh, the subs are made fast, and the employees are friendly. Each sandwich runs about $5-6, less if you're getting them without veggies or sauce. There are about 20 varieties to choose from. My favorites are the #12 Beach Club and the #15 Club Tuna. The Beach Club comes with turkey, provolone cheese, avocado, cucumber, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The sprouts are my favorite thing about the sandwiches here. The Club Tuna has similar ingredients as the Beach Club, except tuna salad in lieu of the turkey, provolone, and avocado. The Club Tuna comes packed with plenty of tuna salad and it's good. The subs are 8 inches long and come on 7-grain or French bread. It's not the softest or tastiest bread, but the other ingredients help make the sandwich not bad overall. This Jimmy John's location can be found at the corner of 14th St. and State Street, west of the interstate. This is a popular spot for Tech students due to the store's proximity to the school. You place your order at the register and wait for your sandwich to be called. Fountain drinks are self-serve. The sweet tea is very good here. The shop is typically clean, the parking lot is small, and there is limited seating inside and out. read more

I made my first and last order from this JJ location last week when I was bogged down with projects at work - due to the fact it was getting late quickly and I was starving, and who better than the sandwich company who's branding is all about "freaky fast" delivery! I placed my order at 12:30, and since my office is approximately a half mile away I assumed it would be to me within 5, maybe 10 minutes once the order was out for delivery 13 minutes later at 12:43 (seemed long for a cold sandwich, but, wasn't super concerned). 1:17 I got a call from the driver asking where I was (I specifically put in my suite number on the order form). So, 34 minutes later for my driver to travel a half mile? Seems like freaky fast for this location is actually a freaky failure. I reached out to corporate to let them know and see if I could get even a discount on the delivery charge, and was told since it was a franchise they couldn't help. Four days later the franchisee responded and didn't say anything besides, effectively, "our bad, we'll try and make sure it doesn't happen again". No offer to encourage me to come back, or effort to keep me as a customer beyond a "promise" that I'm unsure they're going to be able to keep. I will spend my money at Little Star from here out when it comes to my sandwiches on the west side. read more

This store is a disaster for delivery. I try out their delivery once a year and it is worse every time. Today, it took 1 hour and 40 minutes for delivery. When they arrived, they told me they were out of the chips I had ordered and my coke is so watered down to be almost undrinkable. They are fairly quick in the store, but do not order delivery. read more

I'm a huge fan of Jimmy John's. Always have been. I lived in Arlington, TX (Dallas), LA, and now in Florida. I've eaten at a lot of JJ's on road trips from the West Coast, to even up towards Pennsylvania. I'm getting somewhere with this. All JJ's are consistently fresh, fast, clean, and friendly. At least from all my experiences. EXCEPT FOR THIS LOCATION. We walked in, and they were either leaning and talking, one was sitting in one of the booths (not on break/lunch, but waiting on an order to deliver), or prepping something else. No one greeted us, though they all saw us walk in. I noticed about 7 employees. No other customers were in this location when we walked in. It just felt awkward. We get up to the register, gaze up at the menu, and the young lady at the register just stared at us without greeting us. She waited in silence. She didn't even offer to help with the menu. Are we just supposed to kill the silence by starting our order? Would she be ready? Is she the one taking our order? Yes, awkward. After our order, there was no "Thank you." She gave us our change in silence. I mean, we only spent under $20, so it must not be impactful on their profits for them to care. Fast forward to the food. It wasn't "Freaky Fast." At all. The slowest JJ I've visited. Now the food was fresh and delicious. JJ has always been consistent with that. The manager (he wore the different style JJ uniform) was too busy prepping and chatting with his employees. No acknowledgement from anyone. From top to bottom. Also, it seemed like they had a leak by their soda machine on the floor. They dumped a bunch of towels/aprons on the floor in between the machine and the trash can. So unprofessional. I get the concept of doing that. But honestly, you're not busy, assign one of your employees to consistently mop the place up, so it won't have a dirty appearance. So it won't look trashy. I posted pics of the place. Check them out. Jimmy John's won't lose my business, since this is, I'm sure, a franchise issue. Hopefully, corporate reads this. Give me a break. I order a Club Lulu Unwich and they wrap up what I think is my tasty, low-carb sandwich and go home. I get back, open the package and it's an oversized DILL PICKLE sliced in two. So, I immediately call them, and they decline to deliver the actual sandwich. I'm about a 1/2 mile away? I make a stink, and they tell ME I have attitude. Seriously? Well, I did have a wee bit of the 'tude. but seriously, dude, Mr. Manager, the customer is always right -- especially when he gets the WRONG SANDWICH. It wasn't even in the "sandwich ballpark" -- it was a freakin' CONDIMENT! If you can't operate a basic franchise you shouldn't be in business. Moral of the story: check your food and don't expect competency or kindness at this location. This is the last time I will visit there -- I had a better experience on Peachtree @ Metropolis. Do NOT go to this location. If you are the manager of this store and want to make it right, I'll change my rating. In the meantime, this location SUCKS. Went here on a Sunday afternoon, as I was craving their Italian hoagie, aka "the Vito" aka #5. I walked up to the counter, as there was no line. Ashley took my order quickly, although she could afford to smile once in a while. The service was extremely fast. Everyone raves about Jimmy Johns so I had to try it. I ordered the #11 Country Club, a turkey sandwich with ham, provolone, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce and mayo. I know I will receive hate mail for this but I am sorry, this place is a glorified Subway. I was drooling with anticipation imaginging the delicious meat orgy sandwich with provolone and thick cuts of bacon...and more BACON but when I got my sandwich it had so much bread I wanted to send in a search team for the meat. Feeling cheated and on the brink of tears, I looked around and there were other people eating bread sandwiches too and I didn't understand it. This place was packed! What is wrong with everyone? This isn't a great sandwich! I've seen better looking subs coming out of Publix. I tried to layer chips on my sandwich hoping it would make me feel better about the loaf of bread I was forcing myself to eat but I ended up throwing it away. The sign on the door was amusing. Horrible service, mediocre food, this place is a mess, and yet always freaking packed? Let's just start by saying I ordered a catering lunch order for delivery. Nothing too big, and they're just down the street, so it shouldn't have been a problem. Wrong. 10 minutes after the time they were supposed to be delivered, I called and was rudely told that the driver was on his way. 20 minutes later, the same rude lady told me that they were "busy, so you're just going to have to wait for him to get there." A half hour, I called and demanded to talk to the manager after she gave me the runaround again. Then the manager gives me the great news: there was NO DRIVER DELIVERING MY FOOD - it was sitting in the restaurant the whole time. He unapologetically tells me he can cancel my order for me, which doesn't help me AT ALL since I have an entire office waiting on their lunch right now. I had to drive to the place myself to pick up my delivery order, wait in line, and deal with the incompetent manager. I, and my office, will never order from them again. read more

Yuck! Bland and overpriced - the only things that make this place worthwhile are the facts that they are open on Sunday and the service is actually pretty fast. The sandwiches have no flavor - the bread is gummy, even when you get the 7-grain kind. They don't have much else to choose from in the way of toppings, but they'll happily pile on the lettuce and the sprouts for fillers. Even the avocado spread is just for texture, having no flavor at all. I expect much more for this price, because at this price, I can get Subway, and at least there I get my choice of toppings and there are sauces to add some flavor. If it's Sunday and there's nothing else around, JJ will sell you food, and that's the best that I can say. read more

Jimmy John's is so underrated. If put in a sub sandwich deathmatch, it would annihilate Subway, Quizno's or Blimpie (gag!) any day of the week. Everything here tastes so fresh, from the chewy bread to the variety of yummy ingredients. Forget wimpy 6 inch subs, Jimmy delivers 8 inchers! (not that kind people). They also make their own kettle chips that are cooked in 100% peanut oil. Good looking out Jimmy! My fave is the Italian Vito, which comes with salami, capicola and provolone. I normally substitute the Italian dressing for mayo, but heard it's equally as good. Jimmy also serves huge club sandwiches. I haven't tried any but they come with twice the meat and are served on thick grain bread or french bread. It's a shame that there are only two locations here in Atlanta. This one is only a block or two away from Atlantic Station so next time you're in the area definitely check it out. read more

Jimmy John's is another place I probably would not have tried but for the fact that they deliver to my office. I don't know why their subs are so yummy, but they just ARE. They're not fancy--they're on processed bread and there's only one type of cheese (Provolone). But they are very fresh, and very tasty. My favorite is the Vito (with banana peppers added). It's an Italian sub and it's just delicious. Also, if you are ordering for delivery, they are very fast and the guy who shows up at my office is always polite. :D (One last note--they sell their "day old bread" for a quarter. I've been eating Jimmy John's sandwiches since 1997. (not just at this location!) Anyone who is willing to slap together a sandwich this fresh and tasty deserves my respect, referrals, and repeat business. I get to have Jimmy John's each Sunday, with my amazing boyfriend (it's a tradition we started when we first got together - I introduced him, and now he's hooked on the Italian Night Club!). I like to change up my order, because everything is just so darn good. The JJBLT is killer, unlike any BLT you've ever tasted. The beach club is phenomenal, but just too much meat and cheese for me! I love the Vito, the vegetarian (throw some bacon on it!) and the Turkey Tom, too. Basically, if it's on the menu, I've had it, loved it, and bought it for someone else, too. Since this place is so close to Georgia Tech, my friends and I come here when were either a) too lazy to cook (often for them, not so much for me) or b) want a fast and relatively cheap bite to eat. Now why the 2 stars if your just looking for cheap eats you ask. Well.. 2 reasons. 1) its competition is literally down the street. And 2) it makes a massive mistake with regards to subs in my book. Lets start with 2). Basically, they don't even have the ability to toast their subs. In my opinion, unless your eating a sandwich with fresh mozzarella cheese, a sandwich must be toasted. It just adds so much to it. It makes the cheesy all nice hot and melty, makes the meat nice and hot, and gives the bread a nice warmness. (you know what I'm talking about). Now onto reason 1). Firehouse Subs is next door. And in my opinion, they are not just better, they are significantly better. They have more flavorful meats as well as a larger variety, they toast your sandwich for you, and they cost about the same. To be honest, for my money, I'd rather go to Firehouse than Jimmy John's. Competition makes the consumer the winner. read more

Working across the street from Georgia Tech, the denizens of my office will commonly order delivery from Jimmy John's. We've encountered various levels of service from JJ's, from an order that took almost two hours to arrive to orders that we tore into some fifteen minutes after the initial call. Despite experiencing the former (and despite the likely-unreasonable notion in the back of my mind that this location's arrival signalled the death knell of my beloved Kool Korner's), for some unknown reason, we continue to order from Jimmy John's from time to time. While I might attribute our continued patronage to convenience, I think the general consensus in the office is that Jimmy John's laces their bread with cocaine. Of all the sub chains, Jimmy John's is by far my favorite. It helps that their prices are reasonable, the sandwiches are huge, and their french bread by far beats out anything served at Subway or Quizno's (the wheat bread is decent too, but let's face it - the french bread is the real star). Plus, they put alfalfa sprouts on their sandwiches and tomatoes that actually look like ... tomatoes! Shocking! And avocado spread, mmmmmmmmm. Also, they make their own chips, and the jalapeno ones are yuuuuuuuuuum. Plus, if you're a giant lazyass, they'll deliver your sandwich to you. I've never done it, but back in my college days I had friends who ordered subs from the JJ's around the corner when it was too icy/snowy to go out (or they just didn't feel like it). I actually like to go out of my way a bit before heading into work to come to this location, as it's way easier to get in and out vs the location right off of willams St, next to the W hotel. The parking deck there is just a bit cumbersome to get in and out. Sandwiches are made pretty fast, though you can't view it being made "a la subway/quizno's". They normally have at least 3-4 guys on the sandwich line crafting up your order. This locations seems to get a lot of deliveries being near Ga Tech as the delivery guys are waiting right by the end of the "cook" line and ready to run out of there. I guess this is how they keep up with their commercials of being "fast". I usually stick to two sandwiches, and every time it's been consistent. I like mine with oregano and "sauce" (oil and vinegar) * #12 - Beach Club - I think before this came with bean sprouts but that has been taken off, which is ok as I wasn't too big of a fan. The avocado spread adds some nice flavor to the staple of a turkey sandwich. * #14 - Bootlegger Club - A nice mix up of roast beef and turkey. I like to add some dijon mustard to mine for some extra flavor. Jimmy John's bread is simple white, french bread. This locations bakes their's on a consistent level, as not yet once have had hardened or over baked bread. Not as many selections as say Subway but they are good at what they serve. Cuts of meat and taste get beaten by Jersey Mikes, so far that's been my favorite franchise sandwich shop. But the cost's are a bit expensive. I just wish there were more Jimmy John locations OTP. *Tip, I always try to make sure my sandwich is cut in half. If you have some tooth pics, definitely put at least one in the middle of a cut or the toppings will slide out on to your lap. Jimmy John's, in the scheme of chain sandwich shops, definitely ranks towards the top for me. After not knowing about it for a while, a move into Midtown has made it an almost weekly meal stop - sometimes a few times a week. The bread, while lacking in choices, is pretty tasty on its own, and there are times I like to substitute their thickly slicked wheat in place of the "french." The fillings as a whole sometimes lack a little in flavor, especially with the meats unless you go with a Slim Jim, but it's still a safe, simple meal that should make anybody's mouth and tummy happy. Beyond the food though, there's not much more to say about it. It's become a total grab-and-go stop for me, but in that form, it fills its role very nicely. read more

Lettuce wrap was disgusting; I am 100% serious when I say McDonald's is leagues better. The closest McD has a build-your-own burger option, which includes a really solid lettuce wrap option. However, I will agree that Jimmy John's is cheap and easy if all you care about is a plain ol' sandwich. read more

This JJ has never disappointed from eating in house or delivery. I have always received the correct sandwich and received it fast and hassle-free. This is my go to meal service when I'm too lazy to drive or to hungover to move. JJ has always been there for me during those tough times which is hard to say for a lot of other things. Without JJ I would have been stuck on that couch craving Turkey Toms and Beach Clubs. I wouldn't vouch for JJ being the best cure for being hungover but it is a reliable and fast remedy. First off, let me say I never at in the restaurant, I only ever got delivery. All the subs I got were pretty good. I liked the bread and didn't mind that the only cheese selection was provolone. I loved the Vegetarian, though I would make it a bit more unhealthy by adding extra cheese. Also, they delivered very quickly and were often there in less than 30 minutes. I know, right? It's a chain and here I am with ANOTHER review of a national chain sub sandwich shop. Well, sandwiches are my downfall. I love 'em. They are, to me, the perfect food. Even more so than pizza, I know, I know. It's a hard truth, but it's there. So positives about this place? Fast: while the guy handling the cash box was dribbling and moving so slowly he had obviously just been drop kicked out of Ma Tech the sandwich makers were yelling at those of us in line and asking us what we wanted. I had my sandwich in my hand before I even got to the "order here" sign. That's service. I like it. Another positive? They're cutting their meat on site. I can't describe how saddened I am by the downward spiral Subway has found itself in. I'll never forgive them for getting rid of the v-shaped bread. Maybe if they actually cut their deli meat on site I could stomach eating there. This place does and that give it a "freshness" star in my book. Two days ago, I was seeking shelter from the heat over by Georgia Tech. I needed somewhere to sit, cool down, and feed my hunger. After pish-poshing this sandwich place in comparison to f2O, I sat down here by myself. I ate my words, and my sandwich in shame. It was cheap and great. The service is good, and I might just choose it over a Subway. Their minimum delivery is ONE sandwich, which is awesome. I'm a huge fan that they will serve any sandwich in a lettuce wrap (Unwich). I never go to sub places because I can't get over the carbs. Sad but true concerns, folks. Anyway, They only serve their own brand of kettle-style chips, and even the reduced fat taste really great. I'm telling you, it's the little things that make these places different from their competitors. Eh, Jimmy John's is pretty disappointing. All it is is fast and mediocre. I'd give it a 3, but for the price, you might as well go to Firehouse. Their subs are much better. But back to Jimmy John's: Their portion sizes are tiny, even the large full subs aren't filling. They also completely lack real flavor; their subs taste just like something I'd make at home, so what's the point? Another main issue here is that they don't toast their sandwiches. No, not they don't toast by default, they just don't period. This is a huge issue in my mind, since cheese pretty much always tastes better melted, and I love my sandwiches crunchy and warm. Someone mentioned to me that their sandwiches are not big enough. this stuck in my mind as i walked in and looked for the biggest thing on the menu. I found J.j's Gargantuan sandwich and didn't hesitate to order it. My WORD this thing was large, although it's served on a regular sized roll the sandwich is filled to bursting with everything in their pantry. Pretty decent sandwich, but not the best. I'm a regular simply because this place is literally a 2 minute drive from my apartment, and they aren't kidding when they say they have fast subs (sometimes by the time I'm all done paying, the sub is already ready). Plus operating hours are fairly decent (they close at 10pm), so I've definitely come when all I want is a quick bite. The best thing really is that they have alfalfa sprouts available, which is not an option at similar sandwich shops (which wich, subway, etc). I used to get sandwiches delivered during my freshman and sophomore years in college. Great price for a filling and somewhat "healthy" meal for a college student. I went here recently, after forgetting about it for a couple years ;) I had some favorites, but I forgot, so I asked the cashier for the popular items, which turned out to be the Billy and Beach Club. So, I got the Beach Club - pretty good, kinda bland, but that's just my taste preference. Found out later that day that you can buy the bread they use o.O 49cents for a day old bread, and 2 bucks for a fresh one. Went back and got 3 of the day old bread and realized they were french bread length xD I had already paid though, so I took them home and for the next few days had them for lunch. Heating them up in the microwave for 30seconds would soften them and voila! my own Jimmy John's. My favorite part about Jimmy John's is not just their creative and "healthy" sandwiches - it's the attitude the store promotes: a little silly, a little fun, a little chill. I love the posters/sayings on the walls, as well as their menu design. This store had good service, friendly employees, and clean seating. I don't really understand the obsession with Jimmy John's. As far as sandwich places go, there are far better options out there. They do have a huge variety of choices though, and are pretty customizable. After day 1 of ECC Nationals at Georgia Tech, we stopped here for dinner as it was one of the only places open at 11pm. I got an "unwich," which is basically a lettuce wrap. I got the turkey one and added dijon instead of the mayo. It was pretty decent.
