This place specializes in bagel deli sandwiches of all types. Bagels of all varieties are brought in weekly from New York City and are some of the best I've had. I will give them this--there were plenty of options to choose from on the menu and the crust flavorings, which is apparently their claim to fame, were plentiful. Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't order from them again. Maybe the subs, salads, or wings are worth it? I personally wouldn't bother finding out for myself after having had the pizza and breadsticks but if you're an adrenaline junkie who loves taking risks, go ahead and try Howie's.

We ordered a pizza and their famous breadsticks (literally our favorite in town for years!) and we didn't enjoy the pizza. It just wasn't our favorite texture/flavor... and the breadsticks were overcooked, hard & crunchy. They also forgot the nacho cheese sauce. A few weeks later we gave them another shot- subs and breadsticks. They gave us a half order of sticks instead of the full order we had paid for- and forgot the cheese sauce again. They had us wait for a fresh 5 breadsticks to be made. Thankfully the second batch was soft because the first batch, which my husband specifically asked to not be overdone... were in fact, overdone. My sub had hardly any toppings on it at all. I kid you not, it seemed like I was literally just eating bread. My husband thought his sub was pretty good, a cubano, although the bread was overdone. Our evening turned out like this. It was 5:30pm we entered the restaurant and stood patiently in the family dining area . No one came. We sent a scout to the bar upstairs. He came down and told us that we could bring the 8 year old up if we sat in the hallway but it seated 4. Our scout carried a chair upstairs for our 5th party. We waited another 8 min. No one came . After 10 min. We prepared to leave . A server said, " are you leaving?". Yes! And we left. This was a Friday night experience. The server was there by herself.
