4 stars for multiple visits throughout the week we stayed at the resort. 1st visit - I've realized I'm not made for Island Time life. We had dinner our first night due to a long day of traveling. While our server was great, there was definitely a laid back approach to the meal. There just wasn't a hurry at all (which was where my overtired mind struggled). Food was great. Decided since our meeting spot for our snorkeling tour was at the Margaritaville resort we would have breakfast there beforehand. We had plenty of time before our check-in time. Or so we thought!! We were seated immediately but it took awhile for a server to come over. We were ready to order once we finally got a server so we ordered right away. Then that seemed like it was also taking forever and we were getting worried we might be late for our check-in time. Luckily we finished quickly. BUT then we couldn't find our server so we could get the bill and pay. I had to ask another employee to have her bring the check to us. Does get me wrong, our server was very nice and had apologized because she had a table that apparently was quite needy and was taking up a lot of her time. Which, hey I am on vacation and wasn't in a rush until it was cutting it close to miss our check-in time for snorkeling. Now for the food. We had breakfast so I ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon. It was mediocre at best. It was like scrambled eggs on a bagel with bacon. So quite messy and not the easiest to eat. The possibilities this place has are endless, but that will never come to fruition due to greed and poor management. The drinks here are way overpriced and barely have any liquor in them. You're talking almost $20 for a pina colada with the 18% gratuity that is included with every drink and meal. Think about how cheap rum is in the Caribbean lol Soooo greedy! The food here is just okay, but you are also paying an arm and a leg for tiny apps with the 18% gratuity included. It's crazy! The sad thing too is that most of the servers if not all have the worst attitudes and work ethic because they don't care due to getting tipped 18% regardless. It's funny to me that you can pay the amount of money you pay to stay at this resort and nothing is included. Nothing! I understand everything is expensive in St. Thomas because of import fees and tourism is their number one industry, but they are literally robbing you with their food, drink, and tax prices. I couldn't come to Saint Thomas without paying homage to the late Jimmy Buffett. On this visit, we stopped into the resort to catch a boat in the morning. We arrived early enough to grab breakfast at the Margaritaville restaurant which only had a few customers. The restaurant is clean and feels new. The breakfast menu is pretty basic but includes some common plates. My omelette was ok. Our server was nice but fairly absent from the dining room while we were there. Service is incredibly slow with the time between sitting down and getting our order taken being around 15 minutes and the wait for food itself even longer. At one time we waited an hour and thirty minutes for our food. This ruined our whole trip with the horrible food and service. We waited two hours for our breakfast. It was a glorified Applebees. Walk next door to the Sea and Sun restaurant just to the right of the resort as you look at the ocean. There your drinks will be half the price, the food is much better and the service is excellent. We were here for our birthdays and had fun because we're fun people. We did our best to make everyone laugh. We did like sitting on our deck and reading. Sapphire Beach was nice but gets crowded because of the cruise ships. Magens Bay was nice but it's $16 to get in with a car and two people. You'll still need to rent chairs. The best day we had was off St. Thomas. We took a ferry to St John, had a great breakfast when we got off the ferry then went to Maho Bay beach for the day. You take a taxi which costs $12 each way. Next trip, I'd go to St John's. Came specifically to eat while visiting the island and overall had a great experience. Drinks were yummy (Pina Colodas) and our server kept our waters filled. Our server was also sweet and pretty attentive. Food: Had the grilled chicken salad with black beans and corn, and it was delicious. Lots of grilled chicken and toppings. The fried tortilla chips were amazing, and added a fun crunch to the salad. This was solely a "meh" experience for me. After traveling all day and never had time to eat at the airport, we were starving coming here. The waitress was nice and helpful; she recommended the Turkey Club, and my drink (I forgot what it was called) had Cruzan Rum, Mango, Pineapple Juice, & sour blend in it & became one of my favorite drinks on this trip. We waited over an hour for our food while our group that was separated into different tables received theirs before us and finished, while we STILL had yet to receive our food. The sandwich was good, but definitely not worth the hefty price tag it carried. The drinks came in a small plastic cup and were $11, of course I expect that going to a tourist drawing restaurant.. Let alone an island where everything in price is higher. We were a charged for the plastic cups, silverware, & plates that are thrown away afterwards. Understandably because of COVID, but that was a first for me. Kinda sad about throwing away a lot of plastic on the island. Our ticket was $90 for 2 plates of food & 3 drinks for two people, and they added the gratuity on there...but we didn't catch that until after we gave an extra nice tip. Wish we seen that earlier. There are several things to review in this listing. Margaritaville has a restaraunt, bar and seperate coffee shop/ snack shop. I am sure that the atmosphere of tjeir restaraunt is probably the same at all outlets. It is low key and did not feel any different than most sportsbars. I had anticipared more of an island party feel. We went to eat here and drink at the bar several times. We enjoyed ourselves but went there more to chill than party. The food was typical bar food. Some items were inconsistent. The greens in the salad were one time soft and wilted the next fresh and crisp. The nachos were good and filling ( a gut bomb) the ribs were tender and flavourful but could have been considered overcooked. Our experience at the bar was also good. Of course the pina coladas, margaritas and other frozen drinks were all great. However drink strength varied on different days. Prices were comparable to the US mainland. I was a little upset to learn that all tabs have an added gratuity of 18 % listed as a service charge and I had been adding a 20% gratuity on top of that. My fault for not reading everything on the cheque. But no one offered the information when i added the extra gratuity. Some of the inconsistencies could be due to the fact that produce is shipped in. Also staff changes were noticable in the 3 times we went to the bar there was a totaly dfferent crew working. This may also be true in the kitchen. read more

I really want to give them more stars but it's terrible. Came just after opening on Sunday but had to wait to be seated as they were trying to stagger the seating. During the wait for a table I started reading other reviews and saw a pattern. People complaining about slow service and slow food. Well...they were right. After finally being seated and placing our order as quickly as we could we started "the wait". After 30 mins I asked where our food was. Our server assured me it would be right out. 15 mins later her update was that it would just be another minute. Finally after a total of just under an hour we got our burgers and salads. We quickly scarfed them down so we could head to the airport. Having been to other Margaritaville's across the mainland I can assure you this one is missing the mark on quality. Came here first night at the resort, having been to other locations before where I had good experiences, but not here! This was terrible, slow service, no friendly welcomes, bland overpriced food and drinks, waitress came by twice, once to take order and drop bill off.. had to go flag other people down since we couldn't find her after food came despite our efforts to flag her down for condiments and drinks. Ok, thought just maybe a weird night, stopped in 3 nights later (tonight) and after 25 min of sitting down and nobody coming over realized it was just how bad this place is. Safe your money and go anywhere else. Drive to a restaurant or The short walk to the restaurant to the right of this place is worth the money. Another 1st on my trip home. I'm glad they were open even with a limited menu. We enjoyed a delicious Father's Day meal on the patio. There is nothing to say because the photos speak for themselves. However... I ordered the wings as an appetizer because I love chicken. They were delicious and my parents also enjoyed them. My parents ordered the 2 sandwiches pictured. After eating a couple wings, they had to share one and take home the other. They were each a nice size. My Margarita Pasta with chicken was AMAZING!!!! Very flavorful with a scrumptious cream sauce, enough chicken and lots of pasta. This was certainly a dish for 2. I'm proud I didn't stuff myself. This, I'm sure, is a favorite. We saved room for dessert so my dad ordered the flourless chocolate cake. Kudos to the chef. Very decadent. It was more than enough for the 3 of us to share. This was a planned outing due to the fact that my sister works here. I was able to fine on the deck feet away from the water as most in door seating is reserved for larger groups due to COVID. It was a cool and quiet nite and I had a great dining experience. The drinks were good. I had a few Painkillers and a Dark and Stormy. I had the Calamari as an appetizer and the Lobster Mac n Cheese as my main. They were both outstanding and I would definitely try them again. This place was such a pleasant surprise for us (food wise) when we were staying here!! It literally surpassed some of the $$$ and $$$$ dining we had in St.Thomas. Both times I went, I got the grilled mahi mahi, and I highly reccomend it. (If you're a veggie lover, because 50% of the dish is veggies) My boyfriend got a burger the first time and the second time got a jerk burger, which is his new fav. My family members and I went to Margaritaville on 06/27/2024 around 6:20pm we ordered our food around 6:30pm. The appetizers did not come out until 7:45pm and rarely received refills on our waters. We received our food separately around 8:10pm and some of our food was cold. My dad never received his food. He had to end up eating half of my moms hamburger after waiting a good while. We asked for his food and they stated they made a mistake. Everyone seems to be in slow motion with no desire to hustle. I would not recommend this place. read more
