Located in downtown Red Hook. On the opposite side of the more touristy road…read more This tiki shack style place sits to the middle of a parking lot in a small strip mall. Hand down the best place to eat in the area. It's very small, but packs a punch with great customer service, cool drinks and outstanding food. Best to try and get in on their off hours to get a table without a wait. We literally ate here 4 times when we were on the island. An absolute MUST to order is their Bacon Jalapeno tater kegs! OMG-They're the bomb! Wings are decent and the burgers are juicy, flavorful and delicious! You really can't go wrong with ANYTHING on the menu. Everything is made fresh to order. The decor is island themed chaos in every fun way possible. If you happen to have to use the restroom it's located outside (customs ONLY) The key ring they'll hand you is a toilet lid! LOL You can ring in another way too! On your trip to the john, call in sick to work and stay on the island! You're enticed too by the retro phone sitting a top a keg outdoors as well. Great photo opts! Happy Hour is daily! The Love Shack offers particular deals with half-priced cocktails. We did Margs on Monday! Signature drinks include the 50oz Volcano Drink, Shark Attack, and souvenir cocktails like the Pirates Booty in a ceramic mugs. FYI- They may attach a certain creature to your glass also. Perfect vibe, casual dinning and great accommodations by the staff (for our big party) who were so friendly and professional. This is a must experience spot when visiting St Thomas.

Duffy's provides free parking which is a rarity and right at noon, the mall lot had tons of open spots. We both ordered burgers, one with the standard fries and one with onion rings. It took a good half hour for the food to be delivered but when we got it, it was hot and cooked to our specs. Fries were crispy. Burger was thick with a nice crisp, almost tasted like a smash burger but thicker. Service was good. It was the one spot where we didn't have to pay for a refill of soda. They were playing the best music! No waitlist or host so you have to linger and wait for someone to leave if you need a table and they are full. Great stop.

A friend and I visited the Dog House Pub when we were in St. Thomas and it was right on the road…read morewhere we were staying for the week. Not a super hopping area and on a street vs. the beach or anything fancy like that. We saw a chicken or two wandering around also. But the staff and food were great, so that made up for the location not being the best. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was super nice and helpful about which drinks might be good for us when we told him what flavors we were feeling. I had my first of many Island Summer Ale beers here (brewed in St. John). Served very crisp and cold in a frosty bottle. For food, I had the fish tacos (when in Rome - or on an island, in this case), along with tater tots. The tacos were tasty, with fried fish, lettuce, and a cheesy sauce on top. My friend had tacos too, but picked the beef protein, and chose the beans as her side. Her's also looked delish, so I would try those if I ever make it back that way. As we left (after dark), the bartender did us another favor. We almost got in the wrong car, thinking it was our taxi, and he ran out and grabbed us and said that was not a taxi at all! I'm not positive it would have been dangerous to get in the car, but it definitely felt like he saved us. If you're staying in the Havensight area of St. Thomas, and don't mind a sports bar style atmosphere vs. beachy vibe, then I would recommend checking out out Dog House Pub for the tacos and beer!

My husband got a burger and I got the chicken biscuit sliders, as well as corn fritters. Service was a little slow but we were on vacation and nowhere to be, plus our waitress was super friendly. When the food arrived, it was delicious, especially the corn fritters. We also ordered several alcoholic drinks, so when we saw the final bill we were honestly shocked how cheap everything came out to be. Would highly recommend!

Major League Soccer on Apple TV, other sports, food, drinks and friendly people!!…read more - - - - - - - - Yes - The Upstairs Bar has Major League Soccer on Apple TV Season Pass!!! and other sports on several TVs... and food and drinks and friendly staff and guests! - - - June, 2025 Visit - - - The Upstairs Bar is located 1-2 doors north of the intersection of King and Prince street... Prince street is the street that comes straight away from the St. John ferry dock. - - - We are Major League Soccer fans, and while on this trip, our St. Louis CITY SC were playing in Portland, OR, a nice, long ways away from St. John, USVI. As kickoff approached, I was interested in watching the game not in our room but at a sports bar. After a few calls, the Westin recommended The Upstairs Bar and since we were going through downtown St. John, I just visited in person. The bartender was sure we could see the game, and to be sure, she introduced me to the owner who went straight upstairs and clicked the remote until the earlier MLS game was showing. That's all we needed to get stuff back to the room and get ready for the game. While CITY didn't win, that's OK... The Upstairs Bar, and the other patrons, was friendly and welcoming and that made for a great day/night. Thank you, Upstairs Bar! - - -
