We just recently ordered cookie trays as well as smal cannolis. Tray was terrible with dried out purchased cookies. Small cannolis were hit with shrinkflation and cost over 2.50 each. Soggy. Went to wegmans. Got their small cannoli were about 1.45 each. Crispy, flavorful. Spent 165.00 on cannolis at romas. Same amount at wegmans was 70.00. And they were definitely larger and 100% better. Filthy. On 11/24?25 we bought a quarter sheet "red" pizza. Brought it home for lunch. It was garbage. It was a quarter inch thick...with the cheese and sauce. A quarter inch total!. It was under baked, hard and tasteless. I took a bite and spit it out, my wife wouldn't even try it. We threw it away. We are done with Roma Bakery. So we decided to order 1/2 sheet pizza tonight for quick dinner. I order half sheet pizza with Light sauce and extra cheese. Worker said white pizza? I said no i want a regular pizza light then spell light sauce. With extra cheese. Arrive for pizza and its wring its a white pizza. This is second time this has happened. The pizza slices are big but the quality is a bit below average. I got a loaf of their Italian bread as well and that was better (I'll still eat it all without butter, the make of a good bread) but still missed the mark. The crust could be harder and it was a bit tasteless (compared to Columbus Bakery in Syracuse), maybe more salt would help. It was better than the trashy bread Little Venice serves though (butter mandatory). Overall I'll pass on going again. read more

The bread is good. The cold cuts are fresh. But the meat is stored with the desserts in the same case. Like the uncooked meat. Iew #1- Iew #2- the pizza... the worst I've had in close 40 years of life. I'm from NYC, so I get that the pizza up here sucks in general. But this was a joke. It was undercooked and burned at the same time. I don't even know how that's possible. The cheese was burned and the dough was raw. The dough... paper thin and raw and covered with sauce that tasted like somebody popped open a can of Hunts Tomato Sauce and went to town. The cheese... about that. So when I lifted my favorite slice form the pie- the middle. The entire little sheet of cheese hit the box... and it wasn't even like I could lift it up and put it back on... when I touched it... It was like disintegrating in my fingers into sauce covered mush that tasted like maybe the raw dough mixed with the partially melted (yet burned) cheese, leaving behind a soft, putrid mess. So yeah... $15 in the garbage. Won't be doing that again. Oh and I got cannoli too, cause I am insane and dared to go there. They weren't awful or anything... but 2 cannoli and not one chocolate chip in the cannoli cream... Yuck... have these people even eaten Italian food before ? And barely any powdered sugar. read more

Updated review- charging 3 dollars to take a credit card over the phone so I don't have to have them touching my credit card in person or use their pens to sign. Taking advantage during a pandemic. Need to do much better. Make a great white hot pepper pizza, but kids working there consistently screw up order or put way too much cheese. Ordered last night and they gave me a red pizza with peppers instead of white and overflowing with cheese (even though we specifically said to take it easy on the cheese). Endicott native here, but this review is for non-natives. If you think there is only one kind of pizza; if you think Papa John's/Pizza Hut/etc is "good" rather than edible at best; if you think that pizza has to be hot and triangular to be good, then, frankly, you might not like Roma's. Yes, Roma's is non-traditional in a sense, but it's old school non-traditional, not non-traditional as in yuppie pizza with weird wacky toppings or made in the shape of a goose, or whatever. Roma's pizza is fluffy, square, comes with less sauce and/or cheese than you might expect, and can be eaten hot. But its true genius comes out when you intentionally choose to eat it cold. Many people believe that the true test of a slice of pizza is whether it's good in an hour, or even the next day. And I'm one of them. Mass-produced ingredients tend to show their colors after they've cooled off - at some point Pizza A tastes a lot like Pizza B or Pizza Z for that matter. Those pizzas that are meant to look like the million dollar tv ads: stringy cheese, bubbling red sauce, jellybeans in the crust, tend to turn into glop after reaching room temperature. Roma's is different. Different in a way that it's almost like a combination of pizza and something else - bagel? croissant? German pretzel? Bottom line is that if you pick up a square of Roma's (either hot or cold) expecting conventional pizza taste and texture, you'll be surprised. And if you're surprised there's a good chance that you'll feel angry, disappointed or betrayed. If you just open your mind, close your eyes and take a bite, you might find that there's more than one way to make wonderful, delicious cheese redsauce bread. And that's why us locals absolutely love it. For breakfast, lunch, dinner or whenever. read more

Decent little deli. I went there for the first time the other day and tried a turkey sub and a few slices of pizza. The sub was ok - I liked the quality of the turkey and bread, but felt the vegetables could use some love. Everything just felt...wet. The tomatoes were kind of sad and sloppy, the lettuce was kind of damp. It wasn't bad, I just think it could be refined. I think Wegmans offers a higher quality product with a larger size for the same price. I liked the pizza - it was as if Nirchi's and Brozzetti's had a baby. A little too much sauce for my liking but it was decent. I think if I had ordered a fresh pie with extra cheese it would be very good. I plan on trying that next time over the ready to go slices. Everyone there was friendly and efficient - if someone went up to the counter, a worker ran right over to take care of them. I'll go back and try it the pizza again, or stick to their breads and get meat sliced fresh to make my own sandwiches. read more

Their chicken wings are also bomb .. make sure to ask them to make you the mild garlic parm wings .. one of the best wings in the area !!! I'm a fan for one reason only, the consistency. It is most certainly not the best food or the best priced. But it's fast and you know you getting a sloppy piece of pizza that some how manages to taste good despite its looks. That and their "Meatball" sub is the equivalent to a sloppy joe but for some reason I almost always have to get one when I go in there. Almost forgot, If you manage to get it fresh get the breakfast pizza they stop making that early and their white pizza is actually pretty good... drinks are over priced.. (sigh) read more

The only reason why I liked this place was for the cold cuts. It seems that trying to get a worker to notice that your a customer is a different story. The last few times I've gone there a few other customers that walk in after me get the same service I would like. The customer service I receive from this place doesn't even deserve a star. I lived in Endicott for 21 years. I grew up with Jim Romas Bakery. My best friend and neighbor worked there for many years. My family would get a sheet size pizza on Friday nights for the family. By sheet size, I mean at least 24 slices of pizza cut into squares.Awesome sause and lots of mozzerella cheese.You can also get great Italian subs and other side dishes at the deli.They offer a wide variety of Italian cookies.My favorite is Jim Romas sliced Italian bread. They make it fresh everyday 7 days a week. I was recently back in Endicott a few months ago and bought 3 loaves to go. I had to pass the bread through security at the airport in order to take the bread back home with me to Florida.Ahh...the great memories of Jim Romas Bakery will always be with me.It is a must stop for anyone (Italian or not). read more

I love Jim Roma's subs! The bread is great as well as the meat and cheese. In reference to another review, "the veggies could use some love", I'm going to say I agree with that. But, the flavor is always spot on for me and so the veggies don't bother me at all. As far as the pizza goes, it's definitely not your typical New York style pizza. I do prefer to get one fresh to go. I'm not into the pizza that's been out a while. My go to for pizza is the white onion pizza. It's very flavorful and like nothing else I've ever had! I've never tried anything from the hot case. It doesn't look super appetizing. I have gotten some fresh made ravioli that they have in the fridge. Those were pretty decent. The one thing Roma's could work on is finding a happier group of young people to work the counter. They seem like they hate their lives. When I was that age and working with the public I was friendly and not yet tainted by the world. Hate to see them in ten years! HA! read more

i feel like this place has potential, but seeing as how they've been around a while i feel they are probably set in their ways. i'll breakdown what i've had from them and review each item. the pizza- this is the big draw. the first time i had it i tried a pizza that was half plain and half sausage and pepperoni. the sausage was just ok but the pepperoni was kinda bland and they didn't put much of it on there. the dough seemed like it could have used a little more time in the oven. the sauce was ok and the cheese was good but i felt that the bread overpowered everything. so next time i ordered extra cheese and it was a lot better, much more flavorful and the extra cheese must have had them keep it in the oven for a little longer because the crust was a little more done and it helped make a better pizza. i would definitely recommend ordering extra cheese. the bread- this is their next biggest seller (at least that's what i assume). i tried a loaf of their uncut italian bread and got a pack of their sub rolls. the texture for both was perfect, but the bread had a really yeasty flavor to it that i didn't care for, especially since i was using the bread to make french toast. the wings- ok so here's where there's lost potential. the wings are good, and they are breaded in a way that no one else in the area does (at least to my knowledge anyways). but the problem is that they fry them up in huge batches, sauce them, and then leave them in a display case, so you're never getting fresh out of the fryer wings. i understand that breading them like that and frying them to order could be a pain, but at least they could just leave them unsauced, and then reheat them in the fryer when they are ordered and then put the sauce on, that would make them so much better. out of the 3 times i ordered them, they were only heated up once, which was done in the oven, the other 2 times i had to microwave them when i got home. the hot sauce is good, and the bbq is good too, but it tasted like a bottled BBQ sauce called Open Pit BBQ. it's a decent sauce but i dunno if i like it on wings, they could have picked a better bbq sauce. desserts- most of the desserts on display don't look like they are made in house. i haven't tried much, i tried a donut and a canoli. the canoli didn't really have any flavor. the donut had a good flavor but the texture was really soft, it was ok but i think i'll skip them in the future. misc- i also tried the city chicken, ribs, and a sub. the city chicken had a good flavor but again then make it in big batches and leave it in a display case and don't heat it when you order it. the ribs were ok for baked ribs slathered in bottled sauce, but they don't really last past lunch so if you want them, get there early. the sub i got was ok, it would have been better if i didn't taste the yeast from the bread. all in all, this place is ok, but i dunno that i'd ever crave it. the cheese on the pizza is similar to Vestal Bakery, which in my opinion does pizza and bread a lot better than romas. i've never had any issues with the workers like some people have had on here, just wanted to put that out here. if you grew up on this stuff and you love it then by all means go here, but if you're in the mood for something new that will blow you away, then approach with caution. read more
