RUN AWAY FROM VALVOLINE!! They deserve NEGATIVE stars. I went for a routine oil change last…read moreSaturday for my Audi Q5 which this location had done before. After paying $139.55 I drove about 100 yards down the road to a stop light at which point my engine shut off and would not restart. Immediately called Valvoline and Manager, Michael, came down to look at my car. He reported everything they had done looked fine. Shoved car off main road into parking lot. He tried to convince me it was my battery (even though my lights were on and they checked the battery during oil change). He attempted to jumpstart my car and that was not the issue. Said he would start a customer care claim in case it's their fault and left. I had a tow truck take my car to repair shop where it was proven VALVOLINE neglected to put oil in my car after they drained it!! My motor is locked up and ruined. Not until Monday, did I hear from Lisa, area manager, through customer care line. She insisted she look at the car and try putting oil in it. Met her at repair shop to which she never once said hello, introduced herself, shook hands, or even express empathy for situation. Saw with her own eyes no oil is in the car and motor locked up. Says it has to be towed somewhere for a full diagnostic test and estimates to repair. I requested it go to Audi service department and she flat said no as if it's her vehicle and not mine. Told her I wanted to know where she wanted to take it and who was going to tow it. Was never notified with that information prior to her moving forward with having it towed. I asked for a rental and was told no until she received a diagnostic test and estimate. They received an estimate Tuesday at 2 pm and passed it on to their insurance company. I'm still being refused a rental vehicle and have had to call off work for 3 consecutive days to date. Was told insurance company would contact me yesterday and they did not and have not to date. They refuse to provide me with insurance contact information or someone above Lisa at Valvoline. Lisa has been nothing but rude and constantly blowing smoke and finding reasons to drag this process out instead of doing everything she can to help me. Their NEGLEGENCE AND INCOMPETENCE ruined my Audi motor and I'm the one suffering the consequences. I have filed complaint with the State's Attorney General Office and have also retained an attorney. This has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE and the worst customer service experience of my life. It's a mystery to me how Lisa ever became an area manager in a customer service company and Valvoline is PATHETIC and doesn't own up to their mess ups nor do they even act like they give a d@mn. Please stay away from this business so this doesn't happen to you!!!!!!

For all those "pleasant" car issues that need to be addressed…read more First and foremost doing reviews on automotive service providers is always a challenge. People have all kinds of varying opinions, expectations, and a lot of people have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to car repairs. To summarize: if you can do it yourself, then do it yourself I come here primarily for oil changes, and they are competent with that. Someone will almost always tell you something else needs attention or needs to be done. That's just the nature of the beast and will occur at almost ANY similar establishment. I simply tell them that "I'll handle the air filter later" and that's the end of it. I've never felt a harder push, but I think its required of the staff. One note of caution: Be wary of asking them to do a service that seems a little outside of their primary service set. I asked the guys to change a belt once and the guy failed to finish it before close of business. THAT was a hassle. Fortunately they gave me a lift home and I didn't require my car right away the next day. This was NOT at the 1701 Riverside location, but I've been weary of "going outside the box" ever since. Oil changes, and other simple services? Grease Monkey is solid. Just have the fortitude to say no to their recommendations once in a while.

So I thought they wanted me to drive the car in. I did. I was given a terrible look. I asked if there was a problem. He said normally people don't just drive in. I replied that at other places, you drive in and I do know how to drive. From the phone conversation to the last minute I was there, the manager was rude and definitely not wanting to have to work. I chose to drive out, without doing business there. Maybe the managers attitude is why there were no other customers there. Will never go back.

They got me all imputed into the computer eventually, and determined they didn't have my oil. What? That's insane, a place that does ONLY oil changes doesn't have the right kind of oil. I could see from my truck they indeed had the oil, but decided that if they couldn't locate that big 500 gallon tote if 0w20. That I probably didn't want this gang of high schoolers charging my oil. I left having paid nothing, and only missing out on a potential future problem. They definitely need more training, and maybe some customer service skills. After talking to Tuffys on the phone I was assured they would get right on it the next day. The kicker is Tuffys got an attitude about me taking it...they actually said they were about to roll it into the shop just when the tow truck pulled up! What a coincidence. Anyway they charged me $55 before I could take my car. Mind you they didn't even look at it. It just sat there for 10 days. Needless to say I'm done with Tuffys!

**Attention, if your money is important to you, don't come here**…read morePlaces like this just use their name recognition to screw people over. If I could give them negative stars I would. It's honestly my fault for coming back to this place after they lied to me about how much my tires were going to cost me last year. They quoted me $500 for both tires to be replaced, turns out they don't know how to read, so I ended up paying almost $1000. This time was a complete rip off. My car died on the road and I had it towed to Tuffy. It was clearly an electrical issue. My battery had just been replaced three months prior, so we figured it'd be the alternator. When I dropped it off, I asked for an oil change as well. A few days later, they sent me the inspection report for a total of over SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. On that report they said I needed to get another new battery, alternator, new tires, and some other stuff that I don't even care to recall. The alternator alone was going to cost $823 to replace and install. My fiancé called and told them not to do any more work on the car, at all, full stop. They proceeded to do the oil change that I had originally requested before they came to us with all of the other "issues". Well they decided to continue with the oil change and charged us for that as well. My fiancé called them back and asked them why they would replace the oil on a car they were saying couldn't run anyway. The owner responded, "well, she was going to pay to make it run." Needless to say, I picked up my car and brought it home. The car started leaking oil, when that previously wasn't a problem ... it seemed as though they messed with the seal for the oil housing. We replaced that and now it's no longer leaking. Also, got the new alternator replaced for ~$350 and the new tires for around ~$250. So fixed two issues for less than what they estimated for one. The workers here seem like nice enough people, but the owner is an absolute jerk. And since I know you(he) will respond to this, I hope you have the day you deserve.
