If you're looking for competent, friendly service, GO ELSEWHERE. First impression: Went to use the restroom, no soap. None. Anywhere. And the toilet was broken, no handle, not flushing. Embarrassing when you have this open for customers. But that's not even the worst of it. Came for an oil change, which they said they couldn't do because a bolt on the oil pan was stripped. Okay. That's fine, we can go somewhere else. Of course the grossly negligent techs here did not reattach bolts for the underside flashing covering the oil pan and sent us on our way with one bolt out of 5 fastened. We only discovered this once we hit 70mph on the freeway and it became disengaged in busy traffic. This very easily could've caused an accident. I had to rig the pan up with hair ties. When we returned to to business a couple days later, we were treated like trash. No apology, no offer to replace the flashing, no offer of a free oil change, nothing. THEY TRIED TO BLAME THE MISSING BOLTS ON "BEING SHAKEN OFF" while we drove away from the shop. The AUDACITY! 50k miles on this vehicle and no problems and the issue we have just happens to occur right after one of your middle school dropouts works on it? Give me a break! We demanded that they replace the flashing, which they agreed to, and told us we could have our oil changed that day. I reminded them that i said i was not paying and i meant it. They continued with the work, then **proceeded to charge us full price for the oil change**. We were trapped! They did the work, and if we didn't pay it would be theft of services. When we refused to pay, They locked us in their garage and would not allow us to leave. After I called 911 and had a cop on the way, these moronic individuals, including some middle management lackey, eventually offered to charge half price, and by that time we just wanted to leave, so we paid. Please do not make the same mistake we did of coming here. These people are scammers, through and through.

The coolant he claimed wouldn't survive 0 degree weather.

Went in for a simple oil change and the owner pulled me into the garage asking if I wanted the good news or the bad news first. He then proceeded to show me a coolant hydrometer supposedly filled with my coolant, and began explaining that I was in dire need of a flush and fill. He claimed coolant has to be either yellow or pink (my vehicle takes the green kind which does indeed exist). It became clear he was trying to scare me into paying way more than necessary. He told me it would be over $300 to do everything my car so desperately needed (this included cabin and vehicle air filters which I just did myself for $40). I'm including a photo of the coolant that I tested myself after the fact to prove that it was indeed perfectly fine. This doesn't even mention the fact that he dropped the f bomb within the first 5 minutes of me arriving and told me I was cute. Overall my experience was extremely unprofessional, I felt he was trying to take advantage of me thinking I didn't know a thing about my car. Will not be returning.

It shows that everyone there has a ton of pride in the work they do. I kept it local and so glad I did. I highly recommend Lynch Auto Body, not for just the work they do, but also how they treat you. The car was very beat up and it looks like it just came off the lot.

Copy and paste the link to hear your first story. Do you need a reminder of our conversation on 1/6/25, where the story changed? I have that audio. https://www.facebook.com/share/14kzKs9Ew4/?mibextid=wwXIfr I had to have my insurance company follow up with you to see if my car was complete. As you can see from the texts, that was on 1/6/25. I picked up my car on 1/6/25. Your statement about "not releasing" my car due to me not paying is false. I was in an insurance covered rental car. Do you really think they are going to continue to pay for my rental knowing my car is complete? Not once did I deny to pay my bill, which was only my deductible, mind you. You stated you couldn't waive the deductible because that's illegal. I never asked you to waive it. Also, where did you get the information that I had auto body work done and didn't return to that shop? Because that is also false. This is my first claim. I've had the same insurance company since 2012. Should I contact my insurance company and get my claim information/history? And you saying I tried to take advantage of a small business? Far from, again, I chose your business because of the number of years you have been in service. I chose to shop local and support a small business. I will not let you bully me or defame my character because I simply posted my experience with your business. If you don't want a negative review, treat your customers better. ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR - SCUMMY BUSINESS PRACTICES - AVOID!…read more We've been using Chet's for a couple of years now due to their proximity to where we live, however we will NEVER be returning our vehicles for service here after our experiences during the last few visits. Last Tuesday, my wife's car went into limp mode. We had it towed here just to get the diagnostic work done to see if it was something worth fixing. It had a failed coil pack a few months ago that she drove with to get it home. This caused premature failure of the first catalytic converter, which is exactly what the mechanic (Matt) found wrong with it. On Thursday, they called upon finding this out and asked if they wanted us to proceed with further diagnostics (to check if the second cat had failed as well) and repairs. They quoted us $1500 additional parts/labor for an upstream catalytic converter replacement. I told them yes to the diagnostics, but to call me before they proceeded with any further work, as I thought the price was ridiculous. I had a feeling that what I said wasn't received properly, so exactly 5 minutes later I called back and was explicitly clear that we ONLY wanted them to perform additional diagnostic labor to check if the downstream cat had failed. I know I spoke to the same person both times because the number they called from and I called back to is different from their office number. They said they would be sure to tell the mechanic not to proceed with the repairs. Assuming that this would be a 10 minute job (dropping a scope into the downstream cat), I went in Friday to check if we could coordinate payment for the diagnostic efforts and arrange a tow for the car. The front desk employee (Roman) tells me the total was $1700 ($200 diag, $1500 parts/labor for parts replacement). After I explained the situation, he went into the back, apologized for the miscommunication issue, and said they would get the parts removed ASAP and make us whole in terms of payment. I figured this was reasonable, mistakes happen, and they were owning up to it. Come Monday afternoon, we called to see if the vehicle was ready to go. I spoke with Jeff on the phone initially who put the mechanic Matt on the line. He explained that since the parts were installed and the car had been driven (50 feet to the parking lot), the catalytic converter wasn't returnable and we would be on the hook for the full parts/labor as quoted. I told him that wasn't happening, to take the parts off and give us our vehicle back as left. Making a customer pay for unauthorized repairs is EXPLICITLY ILLEGAL behavior, under Wisconsin consumer protection law. My wife went in Tuesday morning to check on the vehicle (1 week since drop off) and they told her it would be a couple more hours before they got the part off. I called them back Tuesday afternoon, and they are now trying to get us on the hook for just the parts and they would comp the labor. They were charging $700 for the part. The vehicle is 11 years old and worth $3,000 at most, we are just trying to get another year out of it and do not need pricey OEM parts. I told Matt this was unacceptable, told him the state law that protects consumers in this exact condition, and let him know we would be taking them to small claims court if they would not honor our request. He blew me off and tried denying responsibility. We called back one more time, asking to speak to only the owner, at which point we were finally told that they would only be charging us for the diagnostic labor as authorized. When we went to pick up the vehicle Wednesday morning, and they only charged us for the diagnostic work as agreed. However, I took a glance under the hood and noticed the original catalytic converter was missing. I had to go back into the shop and ask for the part back, which is worth $50-100+ of scrap value. Come on. They have also charged us for snapping wheel studs that they overtightened in the first place. Tread carefully, these guys (or at least Jeff and Matt) will nickel and dime you for everything they can get away with.

Do not use Chet's. I recently used them for a large repair,…read morethey were not communicative at all, and my car had a catastrophic knock when I picked it up. This was not relayed to me. I paid them $3400 and as I was driving away, I noticed the knock. I had to go back to bring the issue up to them, they would not take any responsibility. It could have been the worst case of Murphy's law at work, either way, they should have notified me of the knock before doing the costly repair.
