A video of this experience, which is worth 10,000 words, is on th Internet, titled "Experience and Review, Great Canadian Oil Change, Motor Oil, Valvoline". Briefly, an employee broke the dipstick and parts entered the engine. There is also doubt about the quality and quantity of the "semi-synthetic" oil recommended which I purchased based on representations by their employees. The engine is now dieseling, knocking, and no longer runs far without stalling. My video has "before" and "after" scantool readings, as well as the receipt. The manager was so embarassed that I was given a $12 discount without my asking. Their people were quite warm and pleasant and offered advice as to where to buy Punjabi samosas in the area. One more item: Their manager offered to replace my car's fuel filter. I agreed to his suggestion, but did not hear anything further, so I do't know if he did/didn't change the fuel filter, which he said was under the car. He went down the steps to "below", and came back up a minutes later.

These guys are the worst types of people you find from slums working at Mobile one Port Moody. I came down in August to get my left light fixed, they said they could do it, as I waited they started to tell me that my alternator belt was fraying. So before I said yes I did my research and asked them where it was , they showed me the serpentine belt instead. So, ended up paying close to 250CAD not rupees (should have been the latter). Two months pass by I take my car to MIDAs, which I should have done in the first place, and those Canadian trained mechanics sent pictures of the same exact serpentine part telling me that it is fraying. The area where Mobile One claimed to put in a new belt!!! Now, don't call me a fool, when I was at Mobile One dealing with those young slums, I did ask where my old belt was , they conveniently showed me something that looked very think tossed in a pile of crap. A message for especially brown, black women..don't go to these guys. They don't have an honest bone in their temples and they are just wanting to take the little in our wallets.

We have come in here for oil changes many times on various sales over rthe years…read more Overall in years past, there was a lot of upselling and recommendations that they didn't always note in the system, like striped oil drain plugs. Some shady stuff! That was then, this is now. They have changed much of the crew and there seems to be a big drive to honesty which is refreshing at the least. A previous oil change the tech lost a part of my oil filter bypass valve which was caught (noticed) by another subsequent oil change company. I went back and confronted these guys and very apologetically they made the problem right at their expense. Kudos! If they keep this up I will be happy to keep coming back. You really have to appreciate their prices. And quick service. I say give them another try and I think you'll be happier with them.

After having the car pushed to a mechanic confirmed the car was not starting because the engine was "Dripping with oil" and was hydrolocked. After spending over $1,300 for my oil change and repair, Mobil1 Walnut Grove refused to accept the facts and provide any sort of compensation or reimbursement. They told me it was my oil sending unit and with parts and labour it would $70. I let them put it in and when I arrived home I was still seeing the oil dripping. I brought it back and they put it back on the hoist but said they couldn't see any oil leaking. Really? They fix cars for a living and can't even spot a dripping oil leak that any regular schmuck could see with naked eyes. If they couldn't see it actually dripping they should have been able to see the drips on the ground but they probably didn't even look for that. My rationale was that if they can't even see that there is a leak, I'm not even going to try and show them or have them try and fix my car again.

They couldn't find a problem with the starter and recommended a new battery. $77 I had the battery checked and was told by the Brunette Battery that the problem wasn't with the battery. I eventually took my vehicle to another repair shop and they discovered the ferrule connector on the ignition signal wire was loose. They replaced the ferrule and the issue disappeared. In December 2025 the starter stopped working. When the new shop checked it out they told me the nut securing the power line from the battery had been cross-threaded and had worked loose causing short circuits. They suggested this was the probable cause for the starter/solenoid failure. While I'm unhappy with the quality of work done on the starter replacement, I feel ripped off on the "diagnosis" service charge as it appears they didn't put the car on the hoist, to check the starter connections, only testing the electrical systems from above, (under the hood).
