The seafood is indeed fresh and cooked well, but that's the only redeeming quality. Their set menus come with a small number of dishes and for the same price at comparable Chinese restaurants, you could get the same weight of king crab/lobster and several more dishes included in the set meal. As always, the steak comes out shortly after the order is made, way before our seafood is even taken out of the tank and showed to us. And the steak is always blue, hard seared on the outside and basically still moo-ing in the middle. Our king crab was not lively at all and they also added a supposed 1.5 lbs to our king crab and it certainly didn't look like it. The fries in the typhoon style lobster were cold, which is always a problem here. Service is absent and inattentive. Nobody changed our plates until we were nearly done eating. Overall, it's a popular place as the pioneer of the lobster and crab towers and perhaps worth trying one time for its popularity, but there are much better quality options in the GTA with better execution, value and service.

The lady who was placing each bowl from the tray to the rotating table, she put some of them down so hard it would spill on the table. It's kind of messy. Never went in the washroom so unsure of its cleanliness. Food was good, decent price and the food was yummy. The eel clay pot rice was okay, lots of ginger in it. The mushroom beef was good, tender. The lobster didn't have much flavour on its own, but it tasted good with hot sauce. We were supposed to get the fish, but the waiter substituted it with a chicken dish that you can probably find at Chinese takeout restaurants. I would have preferred that the substituted dish was something more tasty and not a simple chicken dish. The waiters sometimes took long to bring our food and we were stuck waiting for food for a while in between dishes. One waiter brought a knife in hot water to cut the ice cream cake, which was nice since my family was having trouble cutting the cake ourselves.

I was told by my Singaporean friend that the chili crab was not as authentic as it could have been but it was all delicious regardless. Place is small, and waiting for a table is de rigor. We placed our name in the Google waitlist, then waited another hour to be seated on Friday night. Based on reviews, got the Singapore chili crabs with the king oyster mushrooms (under the crab it soaked up all the goodness), spicy clams garlic veggies and the beef in black pepper/garlic. All were well done, the veggies had great wokhai, met with appreciation at the table. Clams and crabs were spicy for some and ok for others (our table was Cantonese and Korean). Crab was delicious, and the sauce called for rice to be mixed in after the crab was done. It filled us, but not too much. Next time we might try other sauces, but the Singapore chili sauce was killer. Totally worth the money and the hassle. In a mall full of other restaurants this place was the busiest. Very cute decor and free ice cream!

Was looking for a lobster for Thanksgiving dinner…read more Once in the store, we were surrounded by all the different tanks full or live lobsters - I had no idea what I was supposed to do first. What size should I buy for two? What is the best one for simple steaming? Where is what I am looking for? What is the difference among these different tanks? A gentleman who was working here caught me and answered all these questions, and located a perfect size, super lively lobster suitable for steaming! He was knowledgeable about different cooking options, and as soon as he knows we are Japanese, he showed me different sashimi grade seafood and handling tips. We bought - A live lobster (1.5lb) about $30 - 6 sashimi grade shrimps $ less than 10 He was so kind to make sure all the shrimps are the same size. Sashimi was beautiful, fresh and naturally sweet, melt on the tongue. I deep-fried the shrimp head and tail as the gentleman suggested - crispy, thin! And lobster was full of meat, juicy and perfect size for two of us. Full! Yum!! Cant wait to go back again!!!!

We went with the $568 set menu, and there was plenty of food for the number of people it was intended to serve. The lobster was definitely the highlight of the meal! We also ordered an additional half suckling pig for $80. Personally, I would say you can skip the pig, as I've had better versions elsewhere. The restaurant is spacious and newly decorated. Personally, I find the dark interior a little less welcoming, but that's just my preference. One thing to note is that the washrooms are located near the entrance, which can be quite a walk if you're seated near the tank. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. The servers were generally nice and friendly, but perhaps because of the restaurant's large size and the lack of a clearly assigned server for each table, it was surprisingly difficult to get their attention. Our tea and water ran out several times, and we had to actively chase someone down for refills. Overall, come here for the food, especially the lobster and the set menu, but don't expect the service to be on the same level as the cuisine.

A staple in Markham for lobster towers, seafood, and overall great food…read more I've dined here multiple times and keep coming back for more. I do see a huge difference in service when you're in their private rooms vs. when you're in their main dining room. Regardless if you have a reso, you'd still have to wait for a seat after checking in with the hostess. It's quite crammed in the lobby area since there's large parties all waiting to be seated. Service at my latest visit in their main dining room area was not the greatest, with dismissive waiters that tried to gaslight us that food should come out first before the soup. Being Chinese myself and visiting this location multiple of times, I would know that the soup comes first in any Chinese restaurant. All of our serveware also had a lot of tea leaves on it which was kind of gross and we sent back a lot of the serveware to be replaced by new ones. Food here is still top notch though and very good. It's a bummer that I saw such a drastic difference in the service when dining in the main dining room vs. the private rooms. Definitely was not expecting this type of experience when I came here during my last visit, since this meal is never a cheap one.

The food was just okay here, nothing really stood out to me. They have lobster and steamed oysters per person with a ticket and someone that mans the station handing them out. I think the sushi section was probably the best section. They have a noodle bar but I thought the bowl of noodle was way TOO BIG for a buffet portion - this is cooked to order by the staff. The stand out items were definitely the sashimi, the salt and pepper shrimp and for dessert durian. The durian is also per person with a ticket so if you love durian, this is probably a steal for you. Dessert section is mostly mousse cakes too which I don't love. Overall, it's just okay for me.
