Place looks very nice, but.......sticky floors. That was basically all that was going through my head while walking around the restaurant. Their washrooms were also not great, like they didn't even bother renovating it compared to the dining area. After sitting down, they offered a complimentary tea along with some fried rice snack. Pretty good start. We ordered a (tomato?) hotpot combo and some meat dishes on the side. The hotpot ingredients came in a massive platter. Very impressive display. The broth was also quite nice. There was an issue where one of the dishes was served to the wrong table and they just took it back. Pretty weird. Overall it's a nice concept, where they highlight dishes from different ethnic minorities, but they have to figure out how to address the sanitation issues.

This restaurant is kind of hidden with its location. The menu is decent size. They have hot pots and regular yunnan dishes to pick from. The food is like a mixture of Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese style. Service is pretty good. The only down side is about of workers speaks little English and writing for condiments are in Chinese mostly. The environment itself is cute. It has a very different vibe to it. Only downside was the tables and chairs are quite far distanced, making the seating not that comfortable

Clean dining area, good customer service, dishes here were certainly not Americanized nor are they the common Canton style Would recommend you try if you're "open minded" lol as it was not the kind of taste we expected/ used to, but a great dining experience!

$49.99 for a bit of deep fried pork and deep fried chicken, rice and potatoes and fruits.

They have QR code menus and you can order online, it was my first time there so the owner helped me understand and order. The drive was pretty quick and the food is amazing. They have ton of vegetarian options too and their menu shows clear ingredient list. I tried the Vegetarian fried noodles and they were mind blowing. For appetizers- corn is incredibly creamy & deep fried chicken is so crunchy. Definitely try their house drinks, I tried the one with coconut and I loved how it complemented the spicy noodles. Another must try is their cucumber peanut salad & all these options are pretty affordable(appetizers under 5$) The portion size is great, I could hardly finish a plate of noodles. Another must try is their fried milk. Honestly the place looks amazing for dates too, plus they have free underground customer parking!!

Tho You def tasted the numbing of the peppers but not too spicy. My brother enjoyed the Dan Dan noodles. It was a good place to try to get dinner...Maybe one day I'll come back and try a different dish because it was packed with people which is a good sign. However, I'll pass for now cause there appears to be a lot of food around the area.

I wanted to try Peking Duck and got clued into J&Y as one of the best options to try which did not disappoint. The Peking Duck was so tender, so flavorful and so wonderfully succulent. It was perfectly prepared and sliced with the fat rendered and thinly sliced. The wraps were not the monstrous steamed buns but traditional translucent wraps which are super thin, soft and pliable. Scallions, cucumber, hoisin sauce completed each wrap which highlighted the duck. Definitely the best traditional Peking Duck preparation I've had in a very very long time. The remains of the duck were used for make a duck fried rice and duck soup, again both were amazing. It takes a certain skill to make fried rice cleanly without an excessive oily coating on each grain of rice. This was one of the best fried rices I've ever had! No gratuitous mushy frozen peas needlessly added either. Well seasoned fried pork ribs and veggies completed the courses I had, everything was truly wonderful and I hope to revisit again.

We also told them we were missing a chair, they never addressed it and we ended up having to get the chair ourself. We ordered the combo dinner for 10 people for $650, there were 10 adults and 2 small kids aged 3 and 1, the restaurant added $12 for goby fish which was already on the combo menu, $14 for supposedly bigger lobsters, the restaurant suggested we order an extra set of wraps for Peking duck, but there was so little duck skin and meat that we couldn't finish using up the wraps; we asked for 2 extra bowls of red bean soup which never came! Btw the red bean soup was so seriously diluted! Overall poor service and too much upselling by restaurant made for a bad experience

I ordered a combo which comes with a selection of noodles/chow mein, a small appetizer, and drink. I chose their traditional Lanzhou beef noodle (you also get to choose what type of noodle to get. I got the medium flat noodle). For app, I got their kelp salad which was so refreshing, and a HK style iced tea. My friend was particularly craving their skewers which were a decent size too. I forgot to take pics, but their portions are very generous for the price. Their noodles are hand pulled and you can really tell the difference in the quality. It's more bouncy and filling as they have more substance to them. Their service was very attentive and quick, and while the space of the restaurant is fairly small, there was no wait for 2 of us at 6:30 on a Saturday. Coming with a bigger group may be tougher considering the space. My total bill came to just under $26 after tax and tip, which is very reasonable for the amount and quality of food I got. No complaints at all and I'll definitely be back to an Omni Noodle location for comfort value eats.

Hou Kee is a great budget friendly spot for a tasty and filling meal…read more FOOD (4/5) The Longjiang Pork Knuckle Rice is their specialty dish and is their store's namesake. The main portion of the dish is super tender braised pork knuckle (not as weird as it may sound) on a bed of white rice glazed with a house Chinese BBQ sauce. It comes with sides of pickled "sour" veggies (酸菜), cabbage, tofu, and hard boiled egg. The pork knuckle almost melts in your mouth and is so decadent with the BBQ sauce. The sides give nice textural contrast and palette contrast. VALUE (5/5) The pork knuckle rice altogether is $10 plus tax and leaves you full and fulfilled. Great portions and is balanced with good proportion of meat, rice, and veggies. They only take debit or cash. LOCATION (3.5/5) Located on the East side of Yonge St by Northtown Way, it is halfway between Finch and North York Center subway stations. There is paid street parking along Yonge. The store is quite small with 2-3 tables, so would expect to do takeout during peak hours. OVERALL (4.5/5) Really good value for a tasty well rounded meal. I will definitely be returning if I want a quick lunch or dinner with bang for buck. Paired with great flavours and quality of ingredients makes this a nice cheap eats reco!
