Decided to try out the nee local restaurant. Plenty of seating inside, nice booths, and decent decor. Got my order to go, No combo meals as of yet, everything was a-la-carte. Nothing that was "chow mein" in name, so ordered beef stir fried udon noodles, broccoli beef, orange chicken, korean fried chicken thighs. I went off to run an errand and came back in 20 minutes and the food was ready to go. (I didnt go thru the bags, just took what they gave me and headed off, so was suprised when i got home to find an order of the ramen included. Overall, every dish was decent, but nothing stood out to make it above average. Service was friendly, its a good location and price is reasonable, So I will give it another try down the line.

Chinese style noodles, soups, Korean, and Japanese Ramen Ji Bei Chuan recently opened up in the old Shari's Restaurant. Came here during the soft opening. No grand opening specials yet. The restaurant took awhile to open since the entire inside has been mostly remodeled but the layout is pretty much the same as Shari's. All new decor, dining tables, and the old restrooms got an overhaul. The menu is quite expansive. It starts out with a wide selection of various Chinese noodle soups and variations. Also there are some Cantonese entrees like the classic beef chow fun. The beef chow fun seemed average and the beef you had to look for as it was skimpy. What stood out was the Chinese noodle soups. The broth was great, great selection of ingredients and toppings and protein. Everything in the bowl seemed to work well together. Further into the menu is the Korean section with various bibimbap selections. They offer a variety of the bibimbap crispy rice at the bottom with a variety of different protein options. This is the first time seeing a Korean dish at a Chinese restaurant. I'll have to come back and try it out some time. Next into the menu they have Japanese style ramen. There's a pretty good selection of ramen to pick from. And last there's the appetizers. The appetizers seem pretty across the board with a little bit of everything. The backbone of this restaurant is on noodles and soup broths. The noodles and soup is what stands out here. The service was very good and hospitable and efficient. Will definitely come back and try some other items. Score 4.20/5

The restaurant finally opened and popped in for dinner. It was pretty busy about 6:30pm. We were quickly seated and I would say 4 of their staff asked us if we had ordered or at one point asked us if this was our order but we hadn't order at that time. We ordered chicken fried rice, sizzling beef and the Vietnamese beef pho. The portions were generous but lacked flavoring for me. The sizzling beef didn't look the what we thought we ordered and more veggies than meat. The pho was large and had a lot of noodles but lacked flavor. Our check out took a little longer than expected too. I'll give them another try but wait a few more months to settle in.

Had lunch with a friend. The mala noodle soup was delicious and spicy. scallion pancakes were just right-- crispy but not crunchy. Braised combination plate was delicious and quite a generous serving. Plenty of food for 2 and the tab was about $40.

Soft opening! Service was good. This restaurant was a diner before it reopened. Now more Asian potluck restaurant with Chinese name. The table I sat at had guitars on it. The food was fresh tasted good. I had the stir fried beef udon. Not much udon. My mom had scallions noodle that she liked. The " Korean fried chicken " thigh are not made from thighs it's breast meat. The menu has typo. It's so close I may go back since my mom liked it.

Two sets of menu: Orange is signature and Blue is Chinese

Took the place of Shari's Restaurant out in the Pocket. They updated the décor, but the kitchen looked like it stayed pretty much the same. The women's bathroom sink was still the original, but everything else had been replaced. We came here during their soft opening because I've been eyeing this place ever since they put up the logo. We stopped by for lunch and were seated right away since there were only two of us. There were already quite a few people finishing up their lunch when we arrived a little after 1 p.m. We were given two sets of menus: an orange one featuring some of their signature dishes and other items even Korean bibimbap, and a blue one that was purely Chinese. We ordered their Signature #2 Beef since the #1 Chicken was already sold out. We also wanted to try the Spicy Mala Soup, but that was sold out as well, so we settled for the Spicy Gold Beef. The waitstaff took our order and asked what we wanted to drink. I did notice that employees brought water to the same table twice, but instead of bringing it to us, they walked it back. We eventually had to ask for our water. Our first bowl came out fairly quickly, but the second bowl didn't arrive until about 10 minutes later. We did ask one of the staff members about it, and they assured us it was coming. I understand they were busy and still working through the kinks of their soft opening. As for the noodle bowls themselves, they were just okay, nothing particularly fancy. I was hoping for more flavor and a rich, simmered bone broth, but the broth tasted more like it was made with chicken bouillon, with noodles and toppings added on. We also never received our bill, so we ended up going to the register to pay. The couple ahead of us had to do the same thing. There are definitely still a lot of kinks to work out during their soft opening, so only 2 . For me, the biggest issue was that the food itself just didn't stand out. The service also had a few hiccups, although I'm willing to give them some grace since they're still in their soft-opening phase. I'll give them a second try once they're officially open, especially to try their Chinese menu. Hopefully, by then, they'll have worked out the kinks and the food will be more flavorful.

Finally got it after 50 minutes.

VERY SLOW SERVICE. I've been waiting for 45 minutes after ordering Mongolian Beef and it's still not here. Terrible.

Beef Slices Rice Noodles

Ji Bei Chuan is a Chinese noodle restaurant located at 960 Florin Rd in the Pocket-Greenhaven neighborhood of Sacramento, California. We went there last month with my family and I tried the beef brisket rice noodles, the fish maw chicken soup rice noodle, and the beef slices rice noodle. The assorted beef noodles has peanuts on the top and the crisp spicy chicken wasn't that good.

just had lunch at this restaurant. We were their first customers at 11am. Came early to avoid the long lines and we waited to give them a few weeks to workout the little "new opening" quirks that seems to occur at any new restaurant. So here goes. First impressions. they have gutted the interior of this restaurant. It no longer resembles anything related to the Shari's establishment. That's a good sign. So everything is new. Their menu of food offerings is vast. With pictures to help identify their dishes. So what did we order? 1) Scallion pancakes: this was the thinnest and crispiest scallion pancake i have ever had. A great appetizer with a dipping sauce made from hoisin and another unidentifiable spice. it was not too pungent and was the perfect accompaniment to the pancake. 2) Ramen with slices of beef. Decent size bowl of very fresh ramen style noodles. Their ramen noodles were stretchy, fresh, and very good. It arrived with ample tender pieces of beef, tea egg, nori, and fish cakes. The broth was also uniquely different in taste than from a japanese restaurant. instead of bonito and dashi it had a different flavor. Perhaps a unique chinese spice gave it a different flavor. When i asked the wait staff, they were unsure on the spice. My son didn't complain and gobbled up this dish. He enjoys any ramen dish and he was so full he actually left some ramen and meat in his dish. He commented that he really liked the flavor of the broth. 3) Rice Claypot w/chinese sausage and yellow eel. Generally a properly prepared clay pot takes 30-40 minutes to prepare if made from scratch. The goal is to get that crispy rice bottom after finishing the ingredients inside the claypot. However, it arrived only 15-20 minutes after ordering. that is quick for a claypot. The ingredients (rice, eel, sausage) inside the claypot were very good. My only reservation is the crispy rice bottom was just ok. Perhaps that is why it arrived so quickly, but it was decent and filling. However, i needed to add more sauce when it arrived to which they brought to our table when the dish arrived. Overall- it was ok. It is probably a place to return because sometimes you want something different besides local cantonese style dishes from Jade Fountain, Lucky Jade, and New Hong Kong Wok. I would give it a 3.5 stars. We will return to try the other noodle dishes.

Orange chicken

I went for early dinner twice already. Both times were quiet and the services were great. Food was fast and tasty. We ordered tomato beef shank noodle, dry mixed beef shank noodle, preserve meat and eel pot rice, garlic veggie, orange chicken, and fried calamari. The pot rice took around 20-30 min which was expected and told by the server. The rice was cooked in the pot and there was crispy rice on the bottom. Those were good. Both noodles were good and authentic. Kids loved the orange chicken and fried calamari. Calamari needed a bit more salt. Unfortunately, boba drinks are not available yet. Overall, portion is good, price is decent to good, service is good. Definitely will go there a lot since I live super close by.

I came here around 1:30 for lunch with 2 others. We were seated and provided menus right away. They have 2 different menus (one for noodle dishes and one for stir fry dishes). We ordered sesame chicken, 2 orders Beef Chow Fun and scallion cakes. The portions were very generous and tasty. The scallion cakes were very thin and oily though. The service was slow. We waited a long time for our order to be taken then the dishes slowly came out 1 by 1. Even each beef chow fun was brought out with over 5 minutes between. The staff were friendly but weren't very organized (i.e. two different servers brought us water.) Rice is an extra charge of $2 per serving.

Original Bone Soup w/ beef slices

I was a bit worried about the reviews being so low, BUT i'm glad i took a chance on it. Food was absolutely delicious and i think the value was good for amount of food provided. In the pictures there is a Original bone soup w/ beef slices, and the beef bibimpab! Kimchi, and miso soup come along side the bibimpab. We also ordered the 5 pc chicken wings and the scallion pancakes which were too good i didn't have a chance to snap a pic lol! Overall we were satisfied, and will definitely be returning. i'm overly a picky person and very much a complainer lololol but had nothing negative to say this time .

The food is either good or bad. I had the tom yum and it had a weird coconut taste and many others that did not pair well with anything.

When I heard this place served authentic Chinese beef noodle soup, I knew we had to try it. And we were not disappointed! The beef noodle soup was absolutely delicious, but what really stood out to me was the quality of the noodles. They had the perfect texture, just the right amount of bounce, and incredible flavor. You can really tell the difference when noodles are made right! I also loved the self-serve sauce and spice bar, where you could customize your soup exactly how you like it. Such a nice touch! We ordered a few side dishes too, including the rice cakes and pumpkin sesame balls, and both were amazing. Everything was packed with flavor. My wife loved it, my kids loved it, and I loved it. We all had a fantastic time, and it made my 50th birthday celebration even more special. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, especially a really good bowl of beef noodle soup, definitely check this place out. Highly recommended!

The price is also very fair and they don't accept/require any tip so the price you see is the price you pay (with tax added on top). It also seems to be within a little Chinese/Asian plaza/shopping center so you can browse around after your meal too. The area seemed a little bit sketchy so I would be careful of your cars and don't leave any valuables in sight.

I assumed that Tuk Tuk wouldn't be as authentic...was I wrong! I ordered the chicken drunken noodles...probably the best I've had! It had so much flavor and was nice and saucey, just how I like it. Perfect amount of veggies and tender chicken. It comes in a bowl and was a generous portion, enough for 2 meals. I got mild for spice level and it was just enough for my tastebuds. My husband got the chicken pineapple fried rice. Again, a generous portion. He thought there wasn't enough pineapple or chicken but it looked like a decent amount of each in the bowl. Flavor was on point though. For a small upgrade we got a choice of appetizer, so we got the egg rolls and the potstickers. Both delicious. We also ordered Thai tea. I wish they offered a large size cup. Mine was gone in 2 minutes, it was that good! I did takeout since it was the last hour before closing. It was ready for pickup in about 20 minutes. When I arrived, the young ladies working in the front were cleaning the small dining area. Its cute and clean inside (although it smelled like Fabuloso, so I wouldn't want to dine in at that moment. LOL). Will definitely keep Tuk Tuk on my Thai rotation!

The noodles were nice, thick, and bouncy, but I felt that overall my bowl was drowning in liquid/sauce. I would be okay with it usually, but I found the sauce to be very salty making the dish hard to eat. The beef was pretty tender and vegetables were nice and soft. That said, I feel like I'd have to go home and fry a couple eggs to mellow out the sodium. It's definitely okay if you're in a quick pinch for food but not sure I'd actively seek it out.

The spicy tongue Katsu was not spicy at all and they didn't bring or offer any additional condiments like chili oil.
