Let's start with the service. Pretty good, attentive. Ambiance: Sort of a nondescript place, a nice dessert/cake display up front, generic tables and chairs in the dining area. Sort of a nondescript place frills place but well maintained. As for the food, a Greek omelette and Guava and Cheese filled pancakes. Omelette, enjoyed, maybe a bit dry. The pancakes, not so enjoyable. I expected more guava and definitely more cheese. Guava and cheese that I have had before has a sweetness to it. The cheese here was not only tasteless, but there was a severe lacking of it. Will I try it again? Yes, because everybody can have a bad day. I'm hoping for a better report next time. read more

Finally got around to trying this little cafe. It's hidden in the back of a plaza but so glad we came. Everyone was so nice. The cook personally came out and took our order/greeted us. They have a delivious dessert case. Definitely have to come back and try them . This place is tucked into a corner in a strip center that boasts a Ross Stores, Aldi, and Ace Hardware. We came for breakfast and were so happy we chose it. My friend had a Belgian waffle, with bacon and two eggs. I ordered biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. Both were well prepared and delicious. The Cafe con Leche was fantastic! The staff was attentive, keeping coffee cups and water glasses filled. The place is spotless, and the pastries in the case made my mouth water. JGoody boasts a combination of booths and tables. This place is phenomenal, I bring my laptop and work here. They have outlets on some of the booths and they have Wi-Fi that is speedy. The employees are very sweet very efficient and the restaurant itself is very clean. I got the turkey sandwich and it was delicious. Was recommended to this place by family member But couldn't get seats due to it being busy. No problem and glad to see! Smaller place with limited seating with larger groups. But looks like a standard cafe. We ended up ordering lunch Togo and ate at our aunts house just down the street. Customer service was very sweet and nice. Talked us through the different option and desserts. I ended up ordering the Jgoody burger with a side salad and flan to top it off. The salad was fresh but came with a really small amount of ranch dressing so had to get more from the refrigerator. The Jgoody burger looked good and sounded great but over all this burger was kinda of a let down. The patty was bland and but cooked to my liking. To be honest I think it was missing it chimichirri sauce as the over all burger was bland nothing to bring it together. Now for the flan, it was a bust for me. Maybe it was over cooked or something but it also lacked flavor wasn't really creamy more gelatinous. I do want to give this place another try as I was told to go for breakfast and not lunch. They have display cases of desserts. We didn't get any, but I can see myself bringing my boys here to choose their own baked goods. I got the Healthy Alternative Omelette that has egg whites, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and feta cheese. It was absolutely delicious. The home fries were a great choice too and I'd recommend it. I'm pretty sure I ordered myself the perfect meals in my eyes. It was healthy, but I also felt satisfied and not deprived. As our custom, went for lunch after church with my wife, daughter and granddaughter. This time we found a hidden jewel 5 minutes from our house. It's been here 7 months and we had no idea! What a wonderful smell as soon as you walk in the door. It was busy but we were seated right away. Linda, our server, quickly brought water and menus. How to decide?!? Many great looking choices and nice prices. I had to resist the urge to order my favorite - Country Fried Steak. My wife went for the Healthy Alternative veggie egg white omelette first. I chose the Chicken Crepes because they were different and looked yummy and they came with a side salad. Granddaughter picked her usual Burger and Fries, sigh. After a bit, my salad came. A crispy, fresh and delicious mix with a nice side of Ranch. While I was enjoying it, the younger girls took the opportunity to peruse the five (5!) displays of wonderful pastries and sweets for later choice. Our meals came in a few minutes and looked sooo yummy. My wife loved her omelette. My daughter loved her omelette and after a taste of my crepes kept eyeing them. So after half of each, we traded. They were both equally excellent. Granddaughter tried small bites of each but much preferred her burger. Cheese grits were the best. Linda kept our glasses filled and checked in often. My wife asked for Salsa for her omelette but they had wonderful fresh Pico de Gallo Instead. All the meals were great. But then dessert loomed. The girls were torn between Fruit Tart and Chocolate Cheesecake so I picked the latter. It was very yummy, perfect for them, a bit rich for me. I shopped at Ace at Forest Lake Plaza and found this nice family-owned bakery and cafe hidden in the corner of the plaza. My first impression was how clean the restaurant was. We got seated quickly. Waiter gave us enough time looking through menu and took our orders promptly. It took approximately 15 minutes to get our food which was just right for casual conversation. I noticed the food was neatly presented. There was no grease on the white plate. I guess the chef prefers using healthy ingredients which also explained why my Western omelet was just a tiny bit short of flavor. I guess it was too healthy. My friend got Chicken Parmesan. I tasted the chicken and it was flavourful but a bit on the dry side. Sauce was decent. Overall, it is a nice cafe to visit. Food is solid, and price is right. Jose greeted us and sat us at one of the empty tables. He brought us our drinks, and told us a server would be over to take our orders. We waited, watching 3 people busily working behind the counter, checking out customers & getting bakery items to go. Two people came in after us, were seated at a booth, and a young man, Carlos, came over to them with drinks and to take their orders. We would have left at this point, but Melissa was asking the table next to us if all was okay. It was, so we asked her if she was our waitress. Since she said she was, she took our orders. We aren't usually impatient people. But it was a little after 1PM on a Wednesday (9/7/22), and we sat down at 12:45. Five tables were occupied when we sat down and 3 leaving at once caused the delay, We were hungry and anticipated a good lunch - the reviews are so good so far! After we ordered, one of the owners came over to ask if all was good. She was very sweet and said she'd be back after we had eaten. She wanted to be sure we were satisfied! We told her it was the Yelp reviews that prompted us to come here. She said that they are so appreciative of their customers and the positive word of mouth. This place is bright and clean. There are 11 tables for four people at each, and 3 booths. The fresh carnations at each table are a nice touch. Bakery items are in 5 well lit cases by the cash register. A flat screen TV is behind the bakery items and cash register, tuned to Bay News 9. The side salad was fresh and delicious. I liked the honey mustard on the side. Not sure if they made it or it was from a bottle. My quesadilla came out quickly, as did husband's cheddar burger and fries. We both enjoyed our entrées. Both were very tasty and filling. The food was so good and it was definitely worth the wait!! We did not take home any of the delectable bakery items that tempted us. We were full! I had fun popping in to this new breakfast bakery restaurant in Oldsmar. Just FYI, Oldsmar is not exactly a cultural or restaurant Mecca. I'm not the biggest fan of eating out for breakfast so I visited to check out the baked goods. The six displays full of baked items was certainly more than I was expecting! Cookies, cakes, tarts, chocolates, soufflé, tres leches, tiramisu and much more! I was stunned! Since this was our first visit, I just got us three crunchy cookies (coconut, vanilla/chocolate checkerboard and chocolate/chocolate chip) plus a citrus tart for me. Everything was to go since we are trying to stay safe and my foot is killing me. I needed to get home. Jose behind the counter was super gracious and helpful! I asked about their coffee since I saw an espresso machine. I learned they import beans only from Guatemala and roast their own JGoody brand! That's something I love to hear! I simply had to try it! When he sensed my enthusiasm, Jose offered to give me free coffee. I said "no worries! I will take a double espresso. No sugar. No milk." The purest form of coffee for me. Jose carefully made it and came over to watch me take my first sip. The lady proprietor came over also and watched closely. I was feeling a little nervous and excited at the same time! I examined the crema, smelled the aroma and took a sip... Seconds pass... The coffee was fantastic! Woohoo! Smiles all around! I correctly determined it's not a dark roast and is likely more medium dark. The espresso is flavorful, definitely not over roasted like the mainstream coffee house not to be named, had a nice crema and was very smooth. Just the way I like it! Our cookies were crunchy and not too sweet which is exactly how we like them. My wonderful wife was happy so I was ecstatic! As for the food, Jose told me it is all fresh with nothing from a can. The best restaurants in the Tampa Bay area have overalll ratings like 4.5 (Ponte's) or 4.6 (Massimo's), and JGoody has 4.7 (I gave it a 5). This is just a breakfast and lunch place, so it's in a different bag, but for what they do, it's a 5. I got the veggie omelot (you can see prices on their website) with homefries and rye toast. Portions were large and I took some of it home. I learned later from the waitress that you can order the homefries regular or crispy (would have been nice to know that in advance). They also make their own pastries (some of the items were pretty unique) and gourmet chocolates - you very rarely see that. Also, they give a discount for cash. One could quibble a bit over this and that (like the pastries and chocolates not having signs with prices), but overall, I consider this place a wonderful asset for the Oldsmar area. read more

Love this brunch location. Restaurant is super clean, the breakfast food is fresh and delicious. This surpasses most other breakfast restaurants in the area. Not to mention it's reasonably priced as well. A bonus is that their pastry selection in the front display is comparable to a French bakery (plus classics like Tres Leche and Flan). Wish we had discovered this terrific gem of a breakfast, brunch, lunch spot years ago! As we were leaving a couple told us that they LOVE JGoody Cafe so much because it's consistently great food when compared to a nearby chain spot. I can tell you that the chef here cares. You can tell by the food he is putting out and how, during a short break in tickets, he came out of the kitchen and visited a couple of tables, ensuring guests were enjoying their food and service. I had the Mexican Skillet and it was out of this world GREAT! Chorizo and cheese mixed in with scrambled eggs and some of the best breakfast potatoes EVER and I was super excited to bring half of it home. They serve one slice of toast without butter slathered all over it which is so smart. Most people can't eat two slices of toast and many do not want butter soaked all over their bread. This should be a question every breakfast server asks their guests - one slice okay? no butter okay? My husband found his egg white omelet with spinach, feta, and tomato absolutely one of the best omelets he has ever enjoyed. He mentioned that the disbursement of ingredients within the omelet allowed every bite to have just the perfect amount of ingredients in it. Our server was super pleasant. I didn't realize there was a new breakfast place across the street from my neighborhood. It was fairly empty when I got there (mid morning ish) so I was seated right away. I ordered an omelette that came with their rolls. The omelette was good. Plenty of the mix-ins and was a good portion. I wish the potatoes that it came with was a little more crispy (or cooked just a bit more) and not so bland, since the salt/ketchup can only do so much. I was looking forward to the rolls that others have been talking about but was pretty disappointed in that. I don't generally like to have butter poured on my rolls/breads and was not expecting that on my roll, but the roll itself was hard and stale (maybe I got an old roll) I thought it was gonna be fresh baked (at least from that morning) but that the poured butter didn't make it any better. I also got a dulce de leche cookie to go. It looked good on display but that too was stale, really hard and meh. Their coffee wasn't too bad. I'd say service wise it's a 5 . The servers and the owner were really nice and attentive since there weren't many people there. The food (at the time that I came in) at best a 3.
