Great spot to hang out on a Sunday afternoon. Drove up around 4pm and walked around, sat on some of the benches right on the water, and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. It was quite busy - not surprising given the mid 80s temps and not a cloud in sight. But I was still able to find some quieter areas. It's nice loop to walk around and there is plenty of seating, benches, trash receptables, plus restrooms. Not sure if there is normally a fee to park/enter, but I did not have to pay on my visit. This review is going to be so late based on the actual park for kids. As a mom with young kids, I'm always park hopping to find the best parks in town. Jetton Park is perfect for hot days. It's in a wooded area so it's a well shaded. There's lots for kids to do and while most of the stuff I will say is geared towards kids five and up there are things for younger kids to do and I do appreciate the handicap swings. Kids younger than three have a very tiny area to play compared to everything else. They're definitely going to be drawn to the main play area, which is bigger and you might have bigger kids running around so that creates a little bit of an unsafe situation when you have a mix of uncoordinated children, and bigger rowdy kids. Even if your kids are bigger doesn't mean that they'll be able to use everything at the park. Some of the things are definitely geared towards balance and coordination so if your kids are not well coordinated or have good balance or can catch themselves if they fall I would stay close by. The other thing I love about this park is that we can bring our bikes and take a ride down to the water and let the kids play by the sanded area. The trails are beautiful and you'll definitely get some good distance in if you're going to go to any of the stops along the trail. read more

We got takeout nearby and were looking for a place to eat outside that wasn't too crowded. We stopped by here and it was the perfect place. We found picnic tables close to the entrance. They were in the woods so it was shaded. They were also all separated and on their own, away from the trails, so there was no risk of being near other people. We didn't have a chance to explore the park any more than the picnic area, but it seems like it would be a nice place. It's right on the water too. If you're looking for a good place to social distance, this park is worth checking out. read more

Jetton is a County park rather than one operated by the city. As such, it is quite large, full featured and in excellent condition (Which is not to say that the other parks are not also in excellent condition. I'll shut up now.). The park is a large paved road that does a loop along this peninsula that juts out to Lake Norman. From much of the park, you can see the water through the trees and you can approach the water in many spots. Many of the walking trails are completely paved and there are several dedicated handicapped parking spaces. Some of the picnic tables and gazebos are also accessible on these paved paths. Restrooms available and the playground is quite large. (I didn't get too close lest I get labeled "the creepy guy taking pictures of children.") Wonderful park! There is no swimming in the lake at this park. You should be able to get in the water on the float and float around. It's very nice though.

HIDDEN GEM!!! Since I am fairly new to the area, I wanted to go to a place where I could see the actual sunset and I came across this place on Google. This place is BEAUTIFUL!!! There is sand with a lake in this park (totally did not know this). There were people literally there with beach chairs looking across the water. We walked pass another section of the lake and seen some more people just enjoying the ambiance of this park! Since I really wasn't prepared to walk the full park (I was wearing flip flops) we walked a little halfway through along the lake. There is a small "rest stop" area in this park with real bathrooms and an office. There also looks to be a boat dock across the way (from what I can remember) that's really cool. The people we walked pass were friendly and the park was very clean. The best part is that this park is super close to where I live making it convenient to come here and workout or relax and watch the sunset! Overall, a great place to come to with family and friends! I would highly recommend! FYI - there is plenty of parking here and stores in the area once you leave out. read more

Out and about on a crisp winter day soaking up sun shine and mostly enjoying life because it's going to cold-and-wet this weekend :-( Tree-covered 104-acre park on Lake Norman with a small beach where swimming is prohibited (other water sport is encouraged just off shore?!) Also has tennis courts, a medium-sized playground, multi-purpose trail, assorted picnic areas, a gazebo, and another gazebo. The main compound has three large buildings, the Waterfront Hall, the park offices (which also house the public rest rooms), and a sharp looking smaller structure that should serve hot dogs and soda year round. Entry level mountain bike trail north of Jetton Road is rumored to be a mile of easy climbs and mostly smooth terrain; add a couple bumps and tight turns so the novice can learn how to navigate nature. yea for flat mountains! read more

Absolutely beautiful park with easy access to the water. We took our little boy here for a stroll and he was mesmerized by all the tall trees rustling in the wind. There's plenty of parking right off the main road that forms a U around the park. You can also find benches scattered along the walking paths and the occasional covered gazebo. There's even the option for a bbq at the designated picnics areas- complete with a charcoal grill and bench. At one point we stumbled across a sandy little beach! read more

Beautiful park with many outdoor areas including tennis courts, hiking trails, and a beach with access to the water. Simply breathtaking view of the houses along Lake Norman. Visited here in June (weekday) and it was nothing short of amazing. My dog was able to swim in the water for hours. There were a few other dogs here and everyone was very nice, even with my dog swimming off-leash. Would highly recommend for similar-minded people. We have annual picnics here with our family friends and I have always treasured those memories growing up! They have great amenities here and it's such a perfect way to spend a summer day. Love at First Sight. Seriously. It is just a park but there is so much to do. And maybe it is too early to give 5 stars because I didn't get to experience everything that is offered here but the potential alone excites me. We went to do something affordable as a family that wouldn't break the bank and at $3 for a vehicle this was definitely affordable and very family friendly. The lake itself is nice and accessible on many areas. The park wasn't empty but it didn't feel crowded to say the least. There are plenty of park picnic areas and quite a few benches along the lake side. The play area for the kids is great and a nice break from the lake. I have been wanting to take new family pictures in an outdoor setting and I know I have found my place. We will definitely be back again and I look forward to bringing family and friends here when they visit from out of town. read more

One of the best and most scenic parks in the area that I've found, Jetton Park is part of the Mecklenburg County Park system. It is situated on the south end of Lake Norman and features a paved 1.75 mile walking/jogging/biking trail, numerous picnic tables and wooden decks overlooking the lake, playground, sand beach for wading and tennis courts. The paved trail winds through the forest and is heavily shaded, keeping things cool during those summer evening runs. The entire area is well landscaped and there are many grassy areas perfect for picnicking as well. There is an abundance of parking along the access road loop and covered restrooms and a small visitor center at the rear of the park. The shaded and gently winding trail is the reason this park has become my favorite place to run. read more

Our first weekend moving to Cornelius was spending time surveying and getting to know things around. We stopped by Jetton Park and this park is awesome. Huge, pretty nice, so much things to do, and the playground is great for all kids. Nice area and surrounding area and it feels safe. e area and surrounding area and it feels safe. This park has a great layout and flow to it. Aside from the playground, you can find tennis courts around. The sidewalks are large enough where you can share it with joggers and bicyclists. Jetton Park is pretty decent for what it is. It has a small playground, tennis courts, and a small beach (no swimming). There is also a 1.5 walking/running trail that goes right along the lake. It's beautiful. The park also has decks that overlook the lake with bbq pits. read more

We love stopping by for a nice Sunday stroll with our dogs at this park. It's clean, quiet and the walking trail is shaded, which is a little over a mile. This park has beach like areas for relaxing and tanning. The view is amazing which is probably why people come here to take pictures before big events like the prom or weddings. We only walk out dogs here but they have other amenities like tennis, charcoal BBQ grills and Sitting areas as well as a clubhouse rental. read more

Why do you have a beach area that is so inviting for taking a dip only to have signs and a staff member to tell you no swimming?!? Instead of paying someone to enforce no swimming why not hire a lifeguard. I saw over 30 people leave this weekend because of being denied access to swim. I understand there might be a liability issue so why not put up a sign that says swim at your own risk so you can't be sued. Hire a recent high school graduate or two to lifeguard and pay them $10 an hour. read more

I love this park!!! They have it all! Walking trails, kids playgrounds, tennis courts, gazebo, open grassy places, porch swings, picnic areas, a sandy beach, and lake Norman waters on aspects of the property for beautiful views. A great get a way with a bit if everything for everyone. During the summers months there is typically a charge for entry, however for winter the charging center is closed. I'd highly recommend going the speed limit and stopping at the permitted signs as on more than one occasion I've seen cops on the look out. read more

Went walking here with a group. Gorgeous views, paved walking path, a very small beach area (but not for swimming!), parking spread throughout the park. Small decks with grills spread out in several areas on the grounds. Weekdays it's free to park but I think the sign said weekends cost $3 for county residents and $5 for non-residents. I'm excited about going back with picnic fixings and my camera. read more

Jetton Park is a pretty nice area to get away from the hustle and bustle for a bit. Just be prepared to pay, because if you go on a Saturday or Sunday between March 1 and October 31, you will be paying $3 to get in ($5 for non-residents.) Once you get in there is quite a bit to do. We took the walking/biking trail which is about 1 1/2 miles long and loops around the park. There are many paths where you can pick up the trail, so just park where you like and walk around. A good portion of the path runs under trees so it's cool and shaded. The path also runs along Lake Norman at parts so you can stroll along and get jealous of all the grand houses on the other side of the lake. There are also a ton of little decks/gazebos where you can bring the family along for a nice picnic. It seemed that each of the decks had a grill next to it, so you could definitely bring along some burgers and dogs and have a nice weekend grill off. Of course, kids may get bored of walking a loop after five minutes so luckily there is a playground in a very secluded, shaded part of the park. This way you can sit back and take a load off and let the kids burn themselves out! Jetton Park is definitely a nice way to kill a couple of hours on a weekend. read more

Wife and I went for a run here around the 1.4 mile paved loop, not a huge loop, but a couple times around wasn't boring, with trees and water views. They have many mile markers around the loop, almost too many. You don't really need to know every 0.1 increment, it's like driving, the more you notice the signs, the longer it feels til you get to where you're going. Around the loop, there appeared to be a ton of little offshoots with a grill and picnic table areas. They also have tennis courts and a playground. They charge a couple bucks to get in on the weekends apparently, but there was no charge on the weekday we went. read more
