It was quite busy - not surprising given the mid 80s temps and not a cloud in sight. But I was still able to find some quieter areas. It's nice loop to walk around and there is plenty of seating, benches, trash receptables, plus restrooms. Not sure if there is normally a fee to park/enter, but I did not have to pay on my visit. Highly recommend for a leisurely excursion! @azfitfoodfun

Jetton Park is perfect for hot days. It's in a wooded area so it's a well shaded. There's lots for kids to do and while most of the stuff I will say is geared towards kids five and up there are things for younger kids to do and I do appreciate the handicap swings. Kids younger than three have a very tiny area to play compared to everything else. They're definitely going to be drawn to the main play area, which is bigger and you might have bigger kids running around so that creates a little bit of an unsafe situation when you have a mix of uncoordinated children, and bigger rowdy kids. Even if your kids are bigger doesn't mean that they'll be able to use everything at the park. Some of the things are definitely geared towards balance and coordination so if your kids are not well coordinated or have good balance or can catch themselves if they fall I would stay close by. The other thing I love about this park is that we can bring our bikes and take a ride down to the water and let the kids play by the sanded area. The trails are beautiful and you'll definitely get some good distance in if you're going to go to any of the stops along the trail.

You'll find a few kayak and paddleboard launch spots and several racks of them that are stored here. They are also available for rent from the Town. The preserve is far enough from the highway that you will hear almost no vehicle noise. The trails are quite rough with exposed roots and fallen trees. This is not handicapped accessible. There are a few benches scattered about including some that face the water. That's where I sat with my takeout lunch today to enjoy being near the water. Entrance to the park is at the west side along Jetton Street behind the Davidson Day School. There is absolutely no access from Spinnaker Court. There is free street parking on both sides of the roadway. Always walk with a friend! [Review 13399 overall, 718 of 2020.]

The very very bleak playground more on bailey road is seriously lame-o. The larger playground outback past the tennis courts was likely great 10 years ago but has been very badly neglected. On the up side it is "under renovations". On the downside the town chose July - sept to do the renovations. Seriously, who plans these things. Kids are off for the summer and your closing for the summer. Another bright side is if and when this place does get a facelift it looks like it'll be pretty neat AND best of all big trees line the area so it's nicely shaded. Another note - weird note- the trees that surround the playground has these trees that drop pussy droplets and then clunk - these hard lime colored and sized things start dropping. I'be only lived here a couple years and have no ideas what they are. Weird choice for landscaping by a playground. After some googling I think they are eastern black walnut trees I'll come back this fall and check the renos out and offer an update.

There is also plenty of room between fields for the next two teams to warm-up. And, of course, these fields are used for practice. Speaking of practice. Yes, Mr. Iverson ... practice! I wasn't aware that our team was meeting 30 minutes early for last week's game in order to practice. One of the parents of another player on our team knew I was active on Yelp and messaged me via Yelp to let me know to get there early (he didn't have my email address). So, always check your Yelp messages! You never know what could be there. Getting back to the field, it's a great facility. I know most people like to complain, but they're really just searching for things to complain about without even realizing they're doing it. I'm not one of those people. I'd rather appreciate things. This park is well maintained, just as is every other park in Cornelius. It's not really a park to go for a walk, but it's an excellent sports/splash park facility. Highly recommended.
