The facilities and fields are really great. On a normal day without tournaments, I bet the park is wonderful for locals. So much to do. However, the traffic pattern at this place is horrendous. You should allow an additional 30 minutes to get into and out of this park. Honestly, it's hazardous. If there was an emergency, how would help get in/out? To top it all off, if you're the first game of the day, be prepared to sit out on the main road for an additional 30 mins while they remember to raise the gate.

Frank Liske Park is a beautiful, clean park that is nestled in Concord, NC. It has a golf course, double tennis court, multiple softball fields and a lovely lake! There is a concession area, pavilions, plenty of parking, and accessible restrooms, too! I am so glad I got to see my brother and to visit this location. If you're ever in the area, please visit.

Beautiful park on the south side of Concord. This is the type of park where you can pack a lunch and spend the entire day. The park offers hiking, tennis courts, boating, and fishing as well as playgrounds for the kids. "The Barn" is one of their rental spaces available for parties or meetings. The rooms are spacious with a small kitchen attached and are extremely well kept. Definitely a nice place for a child's birthday party or a family reunion. No alcohol is allowed on the property.

Frank Liske park is a beautiful park with lots of pavilions and space for groups to enjoy. Water park for kids, fishing, paddle boating, etc. Book your next group or family outings there! We had our family reunion cookout gathering here. The park is clean and well kept. The only thing I'd change is the restroom location distance to each pavilion space. We were in Banhardt Shelter and it was challenging for some of our elderly family members to get to a restroom. We had to drive them to use the facilities.

This massive park used to be a working farm for the Stonewall Jackson Training school but it was leased to the county and renamed in honor of Frank Liske who worked at the school for 48 years. There remain some relics and artifacts from the farm including the refurbished dairy barn and silo. The park has four separate rental areas including a headed and air-conditioned upper level in the barn. The 10 acre lake is available for fishing and paddle-boating. Picnic shelters, picnic sites, horseshoe pits. volleyball courts, playgrounds and six lighted tennis courts. The soccer complex has two lighted field, a four-field lighted softball complex, lots of walking trails, a nature trail and an 18 hold miniature golf course. I thoroughly enjoyed the walking trail which goes along the lake and is open during this coronavirus pandemic. As long as you're social distancing, and everyone I encountered today was, it's perfectly fine. Get outside and get some fresh air! [Review 13182 overall, 499 of 2020.]

I love this park! I dont want to share it! I found this park over 10 years ago (I'm getting old) to throw a joint birthday party for my daughter and her friend. At that time we rented the Andy Hartsell shelter. It was spacious, grills were clean, and close to restrooms. Fast forward over 10 years and it's still the same if not better. It still has paddle boats, miniature golf, tennis courts. But it now boasts things like an area for performances/wedding, and recycling cans next to trash cans. My visit most recently was for a cookout. I was at the Cabarrus Homebuilders shelter. Its smaller than the others, but good for a group. I did notice that it didnt offer a power source like the larger shelters. But it was close to a kids playground, lake, and restrooms. The park still does not allow cooking with hot grease/deep frying. If you happen to forget something, the new Publix grocery store is less than 4 miles away

I love the wide open spaces of this park! I've been coming here on field trips since elementary school and nothing has drastically changed since then. They have pavilions to rent throughout the park that provide great shade. They also have separate recycling and trash cans!

This is a great family friendly park! I love the spacious shelters that they have. I've been here on two different occasions with large groups! Both times we had enough room to play games and to BBQ you have the lake, miniature golf now, walking trails, softball fields, you name it they have it! A great place for family & group outings!

This park is wonderful! I had a work retreat here one morning. We were able to be in the barn, where it was nice and shaded. I was very impressed with how big this park was as I drove though it! There were a couple different playgrounds for kids. There was an 18 hole disc golf course, which we cannot wait to try! There is a walking trail and then a jogging trail. There are so many different balls fields as well. I was very excited to see that there is a mini putt-putt course! There is even a space with grills and picnic tables! This park seems to have it all! The park itself is very clean. It's open and well-kept. I cannot wait to come back here and explore it some more!

Can i go and gril without renting a shelter? Like a family out for a fun Sunday

I didn't notice if there were grills there when we went but I also wasn't looking. I'm sure you can though, if they have them.

Can you bring your own grill or a spot to grill?

I'm not sure. But I did see multiple pavilions around the area.

There are Indoor, family and handicap-friendly bathrooms right off the parking lot. We started with the awesome playground. I think it's great for kids between 2- to 7-years old. Older kids may not find it as exciting. There is a special Toddler area with two play Barnes, a music-making area and two toddler swings. I would love if they added extra toddler swings. Yall know how hard it is to get a toddler to take turns, so the line was a little long. This playground also has 4 big kid swings and a handicap-friendly swing. If you follow the trail past the tennis courts, there is another play area with a super-cool climbing theme. It has an actual climbing wall and a climbing structure with a curvy slide. My 3 year old was able to navigate it with a little coaching. We wrapped up the visit with a walk around the trail. It is mostly paved with some gravel areas. We had no problem pushing the kids' wagon around. They added several nice benches throughout the park. They also added location signs for safety. The picturesque bridges would be great for photos. Extra note, you can play Frisbee golf throughout the park, just follow the trail. They have two picnic shelters, one large and one small. There is also a lot of clear, open space. They did a great job with the renovation and we can't wait to go back.

My husband…read moreand I attended the opening show of their free summer concert series, and we were in awe of how well-maintained this park is, and how organized our entire experience was. We arrived around 5:30 PM to claim our seats on the lawn, and thankfully we were able to find a parking spot right near the pedestrian bridge across the street. The city posted a very detailed map of parking options on their Instagram page ... and the amazing thing is, not only is all of that parking free, but there is a free shuttle that will take folks back and forth to their spots if they are unable to walk that far (or even if they just don't want to!) The openers started at 7 PM, and then the main act started around 8:15 PM. This gave the crowd plenty of time to get situated in their spots, grab some snacks, hit the restrooms, or even ride the carousel! This was a family-friendly outdoor concert, and they did a great job of having food/drink/activities for both kids and adults to enjoy. A glass of wine or a can of beer was just $5 each ... which felt like a steal since I'm used to spending more than double that for the same pour at other concert venues. The show itself was awesome ... we saw The Fray and they were everything we wanted them to be and more. The sound and lighting were both great. The layout of the park allowed many folks to stay in their folding chairs for the majority of the show, and still be able to see what was going on on-stage. Five stars all around for Village Park and the city of Kannapolis ... more cities should take note of what a great job they are doing here to engage their community!
