Quick side note: we're out-of-towners from the Greenville, SC area. We were sort of having an unofficial family reunion with relatives on my husband's side. The kiddos got to meet their 3rd cousins 1x removed (can you tell I love ancestry research? Lol); you don't get a meetup like this every day. They absolutely had a blast at Frank Liske Park together. We visited the two playgrounds and mini golf area. I also saw the lake where you can rent paddle boats. There were 2 separate parties going on on either side of the venue & events building. Mini golf was fun for the kids (unfortunately I had to keep chasing my toddler off the greens and couldn't play myself). The restroom near the mini golf course seriously smelled new and clean. Never ever had the pleasure to experience this about a park restroom. I'm really impressed. The concession stand has refreshing treats for a refreshing price. I seriously love this park and want to go back asap! If I was a Concord resident I'd probably visit this park a few times a month. Happy yelping! read more

The facilities and fields are really great. On a normal day without tournaments, I bet the park is wonderful for locals. So much to do. However, the traffic pattern at this place is horrendous. You should allow an additional 30 minutes to get into and out of this park. Honestly, it's hazardous. If there was an emergency, how would help get in/out? To top it all off, if you're the first game of the day, be prepared to sit out on the main road for an additional 30 mins while they remember to raise the gate. read more

Beautiful park on the south side of Concord. This is the type of park where you can pack a lunch and spend the entire day. The park offers hiking, tennis courts, boating, and fishing as well as playgrounds for the kids. "The Barn" is one of their rental spaces available for parties or meetings. The rooms are spacious with a small kitchen attached and are extremely well kept. Definitely a nice place for a child's birthday party or a family reunion. Frank Liske park is a beautiful park with lots of pavilions and space for groups to enjoy. Water park for kids, fishing, paddle boating, etc. Book your next group or family outings there! We had our family reunion cookout gathering here. The park is clean and well kept. The only thing I'd change is the restroom location distance to each pavilion space. We were in Banhardt Shelter and it was challenging for some of our elderly family members to get to a restroom. We had to drive them to use the facilities. read more

This massive park used to be a working farm for the Stonewall Jackson Training school but it was leased to the county and renamed in honor of Frank Liske who worked at the school for 48 years. There remain some relics and artifacts from the farm including the refurbished dairy barn and silo. The park has four separate rental areas including a headed and air-conditioned upper level in the barn. The 10 acre lake is available for fishing and paddle-boating. Picnic shelters, picnic sites, horseshoe pits. volleyball courts, playgrounds and six lighted tennis courts. The soccer complex has two lighted field, a four-field lighted softball complex, lots of walking trails, a nature trail and an 18 hold miniature golf course. I thoroughly enjoyed the walking trail which goes along the lake and is open during this coronavirus pandemic. This is one of Concords best kept secrets because people come from miles around to partake of the array of amenities this park has to offer. The 238-acre park is a former working farm for Stonewall Jackson Training School. An amazing, large, clean park with plenty to do!!! We took my nephew's to this park and they always love it! It's about 20 minutes outside of Charlotte but definitely worth the drive if it's not super close to you. They have playgrounds that are nice and the park staff was very visible which I appreciated. They are doing construction on one of the buildings so one of the playgrounds is inaccessible. My husband loves to play disc golf so he was happy they had a course here ! The course was fun even our nephew's enjoyed learning how to play. I can tell it's a popular spot for disc golf as there were others ahead of us and behind us playing the sport. They have a full course too. They also have rentable pavilions which I have also been to for gatherings that are very nice. Check out this park! You will not be disappointed! read more

I love this park! I dont want to share it! I found this park over 10 years ago (I'm getting old) to throw a joint birthday party for my daughter and her friend. At that time we rented the Andy Hartsell shelter. It was spacious, grills were clean, and close to restrooms. Fast forward over 10 years and it's still the same if not better. It still has paddle boats, miniature golf, tennis courts. But it now boasts things like an area for performances/wedding, and recycling cans next to trash cans. My visit most recently was for a cookout. I was at the Cabarrus Homebuilders shelter. Its smaller than the others, but good for a group. I did notice that it didnt offer a power source like the larger shelters. But it was close to a kids playground, lake, and restrooms. The park still does not allow cooking with hot grease/deep frying. If you happen to forget something, the new Publix grocery store is less than 4 miles away read more

My family and I absolutely adore this park! It's huge and has just about everything for every age group!!! We love switching it up and going to the different playgrounds available here each time we visit. The pond is beautiful and well taken care of. The ducks are super approachable and the park is very well maintained and cleaned! There are a handful of different playgrounds you can choose from here, one being at the very top for all ages (however this one is still closed due to construction of the new barn), another one that's much smaller, that is perfect for smaller children & toddlers...and then believe it or not- there are actually three more play areas that are closer to the park's entrance. There is a handicap-friendly playground on site as well, near the tennis courts!! On the weekends, and I believe some days during the summer weeks...the snack bar and mini golf can be accessed. You can also purchase a fishing license here if you're wanting to fish the pond. The paddle boats are usually able to be accessed on weekends, and you can purchase tickets to do so at the small building near the dock and water! It's a very big and spacious place with open fields, soccer fields, a disco golf course, walking trails, a creek, etc. There are shelters you can reserve for parties or barbecues as well!! read more

Nice park but not wheelchair accessible for the most part to get to the lake and relaxation areas. Overall pretty scenery and relaxing areas. Enjoyed some wildlife and the Autumn views while we were there. It's a great place to take your family for some R&R, fishing or paddle boating. read more

This park is wonderful! I had a work retreat here one morning. We were able to be in the barn, where it was nice and shaded. I was very impressed with how big this park was as I drove though it! There were a couple different playgrounds for kids. There was an 18 hole disc golf course, which we cannot wait to try! There is a walking trail and then a jogging trail. There are so many different balls fields as well. I was very excited to see that there is a mini putt-putt course! There is even a space with grills and picnic tables! This park seems to have it all! The park itself is very clean. It's open and well-kept. I cannot wait to come back here and explore it some more! read more

I have been going to this park since I was a kid, and I can easily say it is one of the best parks in the area. Great for family reunions, special events, families, or couples. They have paddle boats, miniature golf, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts and so much more. On our visit, our area was very clean and we were able to organize it the way we wanted. I just wish they would add an off leash dog park area. ​IT would also be great for cool downs after someone has walked their dog around the park and for doggie (and pet parent) socializing. Nice big beautiful facility but the playgrounds need some maintenance. Standing water and mud inside some of the playground elements and some mud pits under swings. Could be fixed easily with a couple drainage holes drilled through the plastic elements. Amazing soccer fields too. Best place to fly a kite in Charlotte! Frank Liske is an absolutely massive park with so much to do and see. My primary reasons to visit are usually to play on the super long fairways of their 18-hole disc golf course or to get in some Pokemon GO related cardio (it's a high spawn Pokemon nest for those who care.) There are also multiple soccer fields, tennis courts, trails through the woods, open fields, at least two playgrounds, a lake with fishing and paddle boats, a mini golf course, a community garden, some simple fitness equipment, an outdoor amphitheater, tons of picnic tables and shelter areas as well as a large barn with indoor seating for larger gatherings and the entire place has both ample parking and plentiful restroom facilities. Good for a birthday party or just having a day out in the fresh air with some friends! read more

Nice park! We were in town visiting family and decided to take a stroll with the dogs. There was a nice playground for the kids and plenty of walking trails. We ended up walking 3 miles through the woods and around the pond. There are some simple exercise challenges sprinkled along the wooded trail, which was fun for kids and adults alike. There are a few spots where you can walk down to the water and let your dog splash around, too. :) An off-leash dog park and better maintenance of the poop bag posts (most were empty) would bring this place to five stars. read more

I have come to this park twice with my girlfriend and have had a pleasurable time. It is a beautiful place to take a walk. My girlfriend and I also went on the paddleboats. For $2 it is a lovely experience for anyone who loves nature or even the whole family! It is also a nice place to play all kinds of sports such as volleyball and tennis! I have lived in the Concord area since 2012 and I just discovered this park TODAY. I have been missing out! It is a gorgeous park with lots to do! I didn't check the hours or anything ahead of time because my son and I came for the purposes of walking the trail before it got crazy hot. I had no idea they had paddle boats or I would have came later in the day so we could have gone out on the water. The trail itself was very nice albeit a gravel one. There were three dead frogs on the trail on the back side of the lake. Not sure if they were trying to make it to the creek and got ran over or if there is some kind of predator taking them out. Aside from that and the mallard geese poop on the trail, the park was extremely clean. We didn't use any of the amenities since everything was closed, but I definitely will be coming back to ride the paddle boats, play mini golf, volleyball, and badminton. read more

One of my favorite spots in the area to run at. The park has a nice approx 2 mile trail around the outside of the park. It's half downhill half uphill with some shaded parts in the woods. Trail is nice and wide so easy to get around other people using it. read more

Nice open space if you want to do your own thing. If you need help from staff, not so much. 3 signs around park that say minigolf opens at 8am, 9am, 12pm. Arrived at 8. No staff. Asked a maintenance guy, he went to find a ranger. Returned to say they're all in a meeting. They know we're here and it's been 40 minutes. No help in sight. Boo. read more

We had a group picnic here in long weekend. We arrived at the spot where we booked one of the area. We left all out belonging and food in our reserved area to check out the lake. We got to the lake saw that they had a paddle boat so everyone from our group jump on it. Once we were done with the boat, we decided to get some snacks and than it was karaoke time :) Boys got tired of karaoke so we decided to play cricket. We played cricket for long time and we were having a good time that's when things started to go down. Kids were getting hungry so we decided to bring the food near lake. Couple of guys brought everything in a van and we backed it up to upload it. That's when the recreation staff came by and said we can't park the van here. We said, we are just unloading and we will move as we are done which we did. We were still playing cricket and about twenty minutes after one white van comes park right in the middle of where we were playing so we called up those same guys who told us not to park. They told us that its official business. Hmm.. White dude bringing his family for paddle boat is sure official business. Did I mention that all the recreational staff were white folks.
