Solid franchise pizza. Detroit style tastes good. Small location with a focus on carry-out. Better than the other major pizza chains.

We placed a pickup order on July 4th. The order went through, I received a confirmation email, and the payment was deducted from my account. When we arrived to pick it up, the lights were off and the door was closed. It was incredibly frustrating to scramble for dinner for two families after 8 p.m. on a holiday. It seems they forgot to disable online ordering ahead of the closure--which is completely unacceptable. This experience was enough to ensure we never return. Zero stars. read more

Anytime I order pizza it is practically always from Jets. I like the way there are many edge pieces and the balance of cheese, pepperoni and sauce. The Customer Service is very good with them consistently trying to lower the price by offering coupons. read more

A friend said how much she loves Jet's, but I've always been a little disinterested. I was home alone for the evening and thought I'd try it (I hate trying new places and my husband ends up not liking them). I ordered online the 8 end pieces, Detroit style w/ pepperoni, extra cheese and extra sauce, with garlic flavored crust... and wow, it was much better than I thought. It had a great aroma and caramelized crust like Pequod's in Chicago. The extra cheese and extra sauce proved to be a great choice. I odered online and it took about an hour - but was estimated only 30 minutes. It was dinnertime, so the extra time was expected. My husband ate the leftovers the next day and complained there wasn't enough - he loved it. We found a new favorite in the pizza rotation. He's a diehard Rosati's fan, but he's now a Detroit-style pizza fan. We'll be back for sure! (probably tomorrow). ;) read more

When traveling to the Chi town area this is one of my favorite pizza places. While I've only ordered from here 8-9 times, I have at least a dozen at each of the Jets in the area. The pizza is always a cut above. It's the consistency. I order the same double mushroom-double cheese and it just how I expect it and enjoy it. They also serve an excellent Detroit style pizza replica and their square pizza is to die for. Try the thin crust and the wings. My friends order that from time to time and ole' Steven E sneaks his share of their pie, thank you! I'm not a fan of the cinnamon sticks, everyone else in my party raves about them. That means you better tack-on an order. Keep in mind when you eat Detroit style deep dish...it's gonna be greasy. That's the situ. That's where the flavour is! I've read a few reviews that have a star or two shaved off for this. That's actually a mistake. Just a note on the service. These kids are fast and friendly. It's a machine. A well oiled machine. Like another Detroit legend, Henry Ford and his assembly line, these guys are efficient and accurate. I'm borrowing the plan from Peter S. and copying/pasting this across more than one location (Lombard, Arlington and both Wheeling sites), as they are exact and equal in their craft. Jet's Pizza is seriously underrated. I consider it one of the best "cheap" pizzas that you can buy in a landscape dominated by other national pizza chains such as Pizza Hut and Domino's. Jet's is famous for its boxy, Detroit-style Pizza like Little Cesar's. My friends and I shared an 8-Corner Pizza and Jet's Bread and both of those were extremely filling and was plenty of food for us. Additionally, I ordered a Chicken Parmesan Boat/Sub sandwich. Unfortunately, that sandwich was not too good - very garlicky and left a residue on my tongue. Otherwise, service was great and quick always. Way to go, Jet's! read more

Jet's Pizza is a small take out/delivery pizza place located off of Roosevelt Road in Wheaton. Having noticed their "coming soon" signs for quite some time I was excited to try it once I saw they were finally open. I decided to go for a thin crust pizza with various meats on it. The pizza I got had thin crust though it was not particularly cripsy. The meats on the pizza varied in quality from excellent Canadian Bacon or Ham to strange beef balls. The sauce on the pizza was not particularly flavorful. Since they had just opened there was some training involved during taking my order and picking up my pizza, all of which made the entire transaction take longer than it normally would. Finally. the price. While the Pizza wasn't terrible, in looking over their regular menu prices one could easily get a better pizza elsewhere. If they're pricing was more in the neighborhood of Domino's, Pizza Hut and Little Caesars (which is roughly where their quality is). Then I'd consider giving it an extra star, unfortunately it's not. read more

This is one of those Chicago gems. I was a Giordano's diehard for years but this is my new favorite. The dough and crust are perfect texture, their "turbo crust" is unbeatable and, most importantly, they are CONSISTENTLY great. We have never once had a bad order. First time I ever tried it. Won't make that mistake twice. The Detroit style pizza was acceptable. A rather ungenerous thin layer of toppings, but the crust was crunchy and decent. The problem was the Jet's Boat, or what is pretty much a calzone. No exaggeration, it was about 90% bread. Very thick, dense, stodgy, and the filling was meager, no oozing melted cheese, VERY little meat. I'll start by saying we are fans. We like the pizza. HOWEVER - I'm giving them ONE STAR to call attention to our "problem." We called the number we had from our menu the last time we ordered. We had out of town guests and wanted to turn them on to Jet's. The problem? We called the number and placed our order for pick-up as the location was near our home. Well - we went to pick up the pizza only to realize (from the note on the door) that the Lombard location was closed and they had moved to Wheaton! Listen, places close, places move - no biggie BUT we would not have ordered (especially pick up) if we knew we were going to have to drive to Wheaton (we live in Villa Park). SO we called them from the OLD location parking lot and they said "Yep, we're in Wheaton now" - what choice did we have but to go pick it up? We had guests and it was getting late. When I get to the new location I tell the manager about how it would be nice ESPECIALLY if people are picking up to let us/them know they've moved (It's the SAME phone number - or that number is being forwarded). She tells us, "yeah, that's been happening a lot" - well DUH! Here's what you do Jet's - answer the phone like this "Jet's Pizza, Wheaton. Please know we are no longer in LOMBARD" or something like that. ESPECIALLY if it's happened to other customers. DUH! THIS is not the end of the world but you move and one way or the other take the phone number with you and you KNOW that it's happened to other people - MAKE IT FREAKIN' CLEAR. Hot Slices all day? How about Hair Slices? Yep, that's what they just served me. Disgusting. I brought the slice back and the kid behind the counter removed the hair from the burnt cheese and played with it, as if he wasn't sure it was hair or who owned it. Pretty sure kid didn't wash his hands before giving me a cold replacement slice. My coworker kept raving about their pizza so we finally ordered some this past weekend. We got the Detroit Style....and let me say, it was so good I have been craving it ever since! So I drove there today, on my day off....a full 24 minutes from home....just to get it again!! And it did not disappoint. The crust is buttery and crunchy on the bottom and fluffy underneath the toppings. The cheese is outstanding, a premium mozzarella that pulls when you take a piece. The manager of the Wheaton location is very friendly and thanked me for my business. I am definitely a repeat customer and will be recommending Jet's Pizza to anyone who listens! read more

Hands down this pizza is legit. Hand made every day pizza with fresh vegetables. The interaction for purchase was an ease of access. Went here for first time last night. I won't be back! Crust is pre-made. Only 1 person working at 3 pm. She took my $19 for a large mushroom and sausage pizza. I got home and it was a rock hard thin crust straight out of a box, not hand made. She took my money then threw together a skimpy pizza with very little sausage. It was horrible! If you want a real pizza, go to Gianorio's in Winfield. They make their own crust and the sauce is home made instead of out of a can. They don't skimp on toppings and they are delicious! I'm from Michigan, and as soon as I saw this Michigan native pizza place in Illinois, it's safe to say I got pretty excited. I love Jets pizza!! I placed an order for delivery & did it all online which was super easy and organized. My delivery was here super fast and of course it didn't let me down. I ordered the 8 corners pizza with the garlic crust. (Which is what you have to do!) I also ordered the house salad which is plenty big for two people with great (homemade?) dressing. Went here to grab the 2 slice special. Saw the employees all standing around chatting in the area where the pizza is prepared. Stood at counter and a girl came out with a mouthful of food and chewing. I asked what slices they had available? Still eating and chewing she says they have all three but that they were quite old. I said why would i want old pizza and she says just being honest! I rolled my eyes and left. Went to bucky's gas station right next to jet's and got a nice fresh large slice! Ordered 2 deep dish pizza for delivery and boy it was delicious! Nice buttery crust and perfect thickness... Thick enough but not overly thick where you are sitting there chewing pizza dough. Delivery was fairly quick. Less than 30 minutes from hanging up the phone to a slice of pizza in my mouth! Awesomeness! Ordered thin large pizza which was more like a medium compared to other places. 24 pieces sounds like a lot but they were very small pieces. Ordered toppings which were very very sparse. So glad this Detroit area staple has made its way west to Chicago. Even in the land of great deep dishes and thin crusts, Jet's has a different take on crust that deserves your attention. It's a more buttery, flaky crust that's definitely different from any pizza crust I've had at the traditional Chicago style pizza joints. I'm hoping a Jet's opens closer to me, but in the meantime, I'm happy to travel a bit of a distance to get to it. As someone else has already referenced, the best way to think about what's good about Jet's Pizza is if you imagine if Pizza Hut was actually good, then you're getting close to Jet's. This is, without question, my favorite non-Chicago pizza in Chicago. Order the "deep dish," but note that this is NOT, in fact, Chicago-style deep dish pizza. It's much closer to Sicilian-style pizza - thick, yes, but because of its puffy, doughy, soft crust, not because of the dense (but delicious) stuff you're used to when it's done the Chicago way. Order the butter crust, and slap some extra sauce on there - it's fresh, a little sweet and a little tangy. I'm a purist, so I do mine with just cheese; I've tasted their pepperoni, and it's good, if they'd your thing. Eat that thing right away - it reheats well, but there is something dang-near magical about it when it's fresh from the oven. read more
