We contacted Smart Shield Windows because they are a veteran-owned and veteran-friendly company,…read morewhich was important to me as a fellow veteran. After working with Bryan and his team, I can honestly say they exceeded every expectation we had. Smart Shield talks about putting customer service, integrity, communication, and quality first, and that is exactly what we experienced. I have never had customer service from a home improvement or service company as good as what we received from Smart Shield. Everything was easy, convenient, timely, and well communicated from the first conversation through installation. We had our front entry door replaced, along with our garage entry door and a new screen/storm door. Bryan took the time to walk us through the different options, helped us get the look we wanted, and worked with the manufacturer when we had specific requests around the front door and trim. Bryan and his team were excellent every step of the way. The installation was professional, the finished work looks great, and the difference in our home was noticeable almost immediately. The house is quieter, the doors seal significantly better, and we can already feel the improvement in keeping the cool air inside and the hot air outside. What impressed me most was how easy they made the entire process. Smart Shield says they focus on customer care and keeping customers informed throughout the project, and they absolutely delivered on that promise. If you are looking for new windows or doors, I highly recommend Smart Shield Windows. They are a veteran-owned company that takes pride in its work, stands behind its products and installation, and provides a level of customer service that is increasingly hard to find. They earned every bit of this five-star review.

The job went great and I definitely recommend Zen Windows…read more It was time to replace the 8-foot sliding glass door. I'd been given several quotes from big box stores, handyman and manufacturer, and the price for the quality I wanted was out of my budget. I found Zen Windows on Angie's List. Mak was quick to respond and provided me options. I got the quality I wanted for a very fair price PLUS it was so easy! I didn't have to wait days/weeks for someone to come out to measure and "sell" me a door. The communication with Mak and the installer, John, was easy. The installer arrived on time and went out of his way to resolve some obstacles my house presented. Quality was important for me as this oversize door is opened/closed many times throughout the day (let the dogs out, let the dogs in: repeat). The screen is perfect for pets and is so minimalist I find myself checking to be sure it's closed. It was surprising to me that I wasn't asked for a deposit and refreshing to do business in this way. Many thanks to Mak and John.

Really, everyone was a pleasure to work with. We called, they answered, and we got an appointment promptly and smoothly. Our experience then continued with Chris Burton, who answered all of our questions and was very communicative. He gave us a price for our two bow windows that was less than the other local company we got a quote from, and with a better warranty, and he seemed a lot more invested in our business than the other guy. We ended up asking them to do two bow windows, an additional five bedroom windows, and our back door, which was falling apart. Mike came out to measure and he was right on the dot, time wise. Their estimated lead time of ten weeks or so was about right, and then Mike and his team (Travis, Cash) came out to do the install, which they completed in a few days. The windows look great! And they seem quieter and way more insulating than the old ones. Hopefully they stay that way for a long time. My only minor complaints are that the guys trampled my flowers a bit and also gave us bow windows that are "deeper" than our old ones (they stick out past where the old ones ended). As long as they don't fall out or put strain on my house, though, I'm actually kind of enjoying the deeper window because I can fit more houseplants there. It does look a bit funny though (see photos). Also, we opted to stain the wood trim around the windows and the guys were kind enough to install the wood, wait till we'd stained the pieces, then come back to do the last bit of caulking. My dad told me, "If you already paid them, they're not coming back," but he's apparently never worked with a company like Thermal! Also, Danielle, their scheduler, was very responsive and fun to chat with. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd recommend them to anyone looking for an honest company with good prices.
