Chilaquiles Molcajete for 2
Abby S.

My husband and I moved here from Georgia and we have struggled to find a good Mexican restaurant. We both agree that this is the best we've had in the area. It is so good. We shared a molcajete and still had leftovers. It doesn't look like much driving by, but it is super cute inside. There is also a tienda, which we loved and was very well stocked. Their menu is absolutely massive as well.

I went to Jessy's last night. If you haven't been lately...it's been totally renovated and looks amazing! The staff there are the best in OV. I tried something off of the Ramen menu. I've been waiting till there was a chill in the air to order this. I saw the new ramen menu during the summer and I couldn't bring myself to order hot soup. I love traditional ramen so I was excited to try this version. There are a few options to choose from, or you can have a customized soup. I went with the Birria. It was SO good. I also had guacamole, queso, beans, and salsa with their excellent chips. I will be back to try the chicken ramen, and the carnitas fries ramen! Jessy's keeps getting better.

Tacos! All so good!

Yum! Was down the street and needed a little snack so stopped here and was not disappointed! Place-it looks like it is currently being renovated so sat outside in a little area they still had open and covered. They also were coming right there so kind of fun and a unique experience! Service-Extremely nice and friendly. Also pretty quick too! Food-Delicious, fresh and authentic! The carnitas, shredded beef, steak, and Al pastor tacos all were so good! We were also there on taco Tuesday so buy one get one free, which is a great deal! Salsa and chips were really good! I like that it was a thicker chip and the salsa was also super fresh! Will return for sure when in the area!

Jessy's hits the spot again and again. We love bringing friends and family here when they're in town and everyone always loves the experience. Out of all their locations, this is our favorite. We love the attached store with all of the gorgeous pastries and Mexican items. Chips and salsa: amazing. We don't love that it isn't unlimited, but the $5 is reasonable. Their guacamole and queso are also both great, so we typically indulge in those, as well. I always get the lengua tacos and a chile relleno. Both are incredible. I also love their refried beans. My husband gets the mole enchiladas every single time and never waivers. Overall, awesome spot.

Birria

Very authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. I really enjoyed the horchata that I asked for 3 of them. I usually don't drink that much liquid. If you have never tried it, I suggest you try it here. I also really enjoyed the birria. It was pretty expensive, but it was very worth the 3 tacos and birria soup though. We got here around 7:30pm, so most of the crowd has gone, and the service was a little slow. There is also a cute little shop inside next to the dining area for mexican pastries and candy. There are adequate spaces to park in the parking lot.

The service to start off was pretty poor. Our waitress only came to the table two times and then had someone else help us. Not sure if there was a shift change or not but there wasn't any communication. The food was not great. The chorizo definitely didn't taste like chorizo. I ordered the fajita bravas fries. It said that there was skirt steak, chorizo and shrimp on top of fries with cheese sauce. While it was a massive portion of food it was not great quality. There was maybe 5 chunks of shrimp not even 3 whole pieces of shrimp. The steak was chewy and it was left in large strips so very difficult to eat. Plenty of "chorizo" throughout the bowl. There wasn't any cheese sauce on top of anything, I didn't find it until I put the food on the plate. The cheese Accompanied by a ton of grease as if the meat was not properly strained before being poured on top of the fries. It was not a great experience so I would not recommend or even come back.

This place is delicious! They have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a shop with a great variety of Central American items. It really reminded me of Mexico with all the options of things to buy! We sat outside, and our server was prompt with the food. It's definitely higher quality food than the generic Eastern VA "Mexican" food. I highly recommend coming to get GOOD FOOD if you're craving something better than "Mexican food." This is the closest you'll get.

3/2023 Had take out for lunch and I was surprised because the price have gone up $5.33 for 1 taco. Not sure these prices are sustainable but that's for them to find out. Got the asada, al pastor and lamb barbacoa and it was on the dry side. When you order take out you don't get chips and salsa.

But if you want the real deal, read on: My Must-Try Recommendations: 1. The Frozen Margaritas -- THE BEST. Order the Jumbo Texas Frozen Margarita with salt. Trust me, it's dangerously good. 2. I live about 30+ mins away but I remember the food being very good last time, so I didn't mind the drive at all. We were greeted by the host as soon as we walked in and were seated right away. Our server was wonderful. She was very pleasant and helped us with some of the questions we had regarding the menu items. We started with the Fresh Tableside Guacamole and it tasted great! We did order it with a "medium" spice level and it wasn't spicy at all but other than that, it was very good. Since the Street Tacos caught our eye, we both decided on those. We ordered the Al Pastor, Barbacoa, Carnitas, Chorizo, Camarón, Nopales and Lengua. The tacos were served with a variety of different sauces, ranging from sweet and mild to very spicy. Most of the tacos were delicious, our favorite was the Al Pastor, Barbacoa, and Camarón. We weren't a fan of the Lengua, it was very dry, chewy and unflavored. Overall, we had a great experience. Our margaritas were amazing as well! I love the vibe of this restaurant and the food and service is always wonderful.

We came here to celebrate a birthday, and it ended up being one of those meals where everything just hit. First off, those margaritas are no joke. Massive, flavorful, and strong in the best way. Bonus: they do $2 off specialty margs on Mondays, which is dangerous knowledge now that I have it. I went with the Coco Loco Margarita (1800 coconut tequila, coconut milk, triple sec, and sweetened flaked coconut), and WOW. It was creamy, refreshing, and honestly tasted like a tropical vacation. My friends ordered the House Marg, Peach Sangria Marg and the Spicy Pineapple & Cilantro Marg, all were just as impressive. The spicy one had a great kick without being overwhelming, and the peach option was super smooth and fruity. Before we even ordered, the complimentary chips, salsa, and that famous white sauce came out ... and let me tell you, that white sauce is to die for. I could've eaten that all night. For my dinner, I had the asada enchiladas, and I'm still thinking about them. Perfectly cooked grilled steak laid over cheesy enchiladas with verde sauce, plus rice and black beans. I loved that the steak was on top because once I got full, I could still pick at the protein (elite move). My friends got arroz con pollo, carne asada tacos, and the wildest dish on the table ... the El Molcajete. It came out sizzling in a stone bowl loaded with shrimp, beef, chicken, chorizo, cactus, and all the fixings. We all shared bites and it was unreal. We ended the night with the staff singing happy birthday and completely embarrassing my friend with a sombrero and a candle in his shot. Incredible. Definitely will be coming back, especially for that margarita deal and birthdays!
