I adore the vibe of this place. The staff are always friendly and super chill. The decor and set up of the bar is a warm and cozy. The drinks are decent but the food isn't that great but a bonus is that they serve vegan tacos which can be hard to find. Although I don't enjoy the food it's still a great place to catch a drink with friends.

This spot had good not great food, some items are slightly overpriced. the chips are clearly not house made too which was disappointing. Seems like a nice spot if you want more hipster upscale mexican

Definitely my favorite Mexican spot. It's very cozy. The drinks never miss and are strong yet full of flavor. Service is always fast and friendly.

THE best taco and mezcal spot in Norfolk!!! Not gonna lie, for my remaining time here in VA, I can only eat tacos/mezcal from this spot!!! There's a lot of seating inside and outside! Inside is assigned seating by the servers but outside is free game and it's pretty lovely! Happy Hour here definitely made me very happy! You can see the specials on my review and you'll see why! Regardless of which margarita you get, you'll be satisfied! HIGHKEY RECOMMEND GETTING A PINEAPPLE & MANGO MARGARITA!!!! I got the chicken tinga bowl and it was super satisfying!! The chicken, rice, guacamole, hot queso and all the other ingredients just blends so well together and it was EXTREMELY delicious! I scarfed this meal down because I couldn't put my spoon down! My friends got the nachos and you seriously have to dig down deep for the chips but that's good because you'll have a lot of food on the chip already! YOU NEED TO COME HERE NOW

Back to my favorite place!! It did no disappoint the second time I came here. I recommend reading my first review about the tacos because they are phenomenal! I wanted to review their nachos and cocktail. Carnitas Nachos: Everything in their nachos from the tortilla to the grilled corn is homemade. My favorite part is their pickled jalapenos. They pickle it themselves, and it goes along very well with their homemade sour cream and queso. Every bite is covered with most of the toppings, so you don't end up with a plain chip. Each bite is very delicious, and it's a huge amount, so I recommend sharing it between 4 people, so that you still have room for tacos. New Boot Goofin': This is a type of cocktail where you tell the waitress what kind of drink you like. I told them I like tequila (they make their own tequila and mezcal) and fruity/citrus-y type of drink. She told the bartender my preferences, and he made a cocktail so good that I wanted another glass and drank it so quickly! They do happy hour from 4-7pm I believe, so it's nice to come here with friends on a Friday night.

tacos, Tacos, TACOS

Great spot to celebrate Taco Tuesday I will say that I was quite impressed with my recent visit to Perro Blanco. Looking at the inside and outside areas, I was not expecting too much, but the tacos were quite amazing. I believe that the tacos are half off for either happy hour or Taco Tuesday, but do not quote me on that. Even if I'm wrong about the specials, the normal taco prices (around $3/taco) were not bad. Although I am an extreme meat lover, the curry mushroom taco (which I assume is a vegetarian option) hands down was my favorite taco. Although I was full from my other three tacos, I even ordered two more because they were so good. To be perfectly honest, I ordered a couple more because I would like to replicate the recipe since the curry sauce would be a great addition to any meal. *I probably should have asked if they sell curry sauce. Ok, that will be something do to during my next visit.* I thought the service was excellent because our waitress constantly checked in to ensure everything was to our liking. While ordering, the waitress took great care to ensure that our taco orders were correct. Since there are multiple taco and topping options, which can lead to confusion, the waitress made sure that she confirmed and even reconfirmed our orders before leaving the table. To be perfectly honest, I was surprised (in a good way) that all of our party's orders were correct on the first attempt. One small tip (since we are entering the winter months), I recommend wearing an extra layer of clothes if you get cold very easily. Although I wore a long sleeve shirt, I thought the restaurant was a bit drafty during portions of our meal. Then again, you have plenty of tequila and mezcal cocktails to help keep you warm.

Paloma and Classic Spicy Margarita

This is one of the closest things I can get in Norfolk to some of my go to spots when living in Chicago. I had been for drinks before, but only just had the food for the first time. I've basically been thinking about the tacos ever since. We did the chips with the Blanca sauce and Salsa Verde. I didn't really expect much from the white sauce but it was SO GOOD, especially when paired with the Salsa Verde. I'm not usually super into chips and salsa but I'm going to be craving these indefinitely. I ordered a Carnitas Taco with pickled red onions and salsa verde, and a Chicken Chorizo with the blanca. The tacos come with a "crunch factor" side plate for the table with radish slices, fried scallions, cabbage, and toasted pepitas. This was great! You could add all or some to your tacos, and we found ourselves snacking on any leftover bits. Both tacos were excellent, in and of themselves and with the added toppings. Their homemade tortillas were really fantastic. Tortillas can easily make a break a taco, and these were thick without being too much. They were corn, but almost reminded me a little bit of a cross between corn and flour? Delicious either way. I'm also still blown away by how cheap these tacos are. We also did a classic spicy marg and the Paloma. Drinks were tasty and seemed reasonably priced. Aside from great food and drinks, I also love the atmosphere of this place. A little eclectic, good mix of inside/outside, table or lounge area. The outside area makes you feel like you're someplace far more tropical than Norfolk. Overall a really great little gem of a place.

Fantastic happy hour margaritas! The food was absolutely fire, and the service was top-notch. The whole place has an amazing vibe - definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!

Cool, hip, and neat little spot. There is a fun outside with containers to sit and the inside is nice and well put together. The food is fantastic, I went with two tacos on their brunch menu. The Chicken Tinga and Carnitas, they were super fresh and the tortillas is hand made and fresh, outstanding! I can't recommend this spot enough. I will definitely be back and they have a cool bar as well with super fresh drinks. If you're looking for tacos, burritos, bowls, brunch, etc I would absolutely check this gem out.

Beer--only $3.50 during Happy hour!

First time here--what better time to pop by than for a Taco Tuesday! I came during happy hour so of the various specials, I took advantage of the $1 off beer. Food wise, I settled on 2 tacos: the carnitas and chicken chorizo. The carnitas was by far my favorite. The tortillas seemed house made. I felt they were both missing something though--then I added the house hot sauce and that stuff packs flavor; so good. Very casual atmosphere; indoor and outdoor seating was available. Service was prompt and friendly. I would definitely pop by again!

Carnitas and Chicken Tinga tacos

What it's not: an authentic Mexican cuisine experience What it might be: an attempt to capitalize on a current cultural trend of mezcals and tequilas. Nestled next to Toast in the railroad district, upon entering the vibes are immaculate. Walking through the outdoor entrance you find yourself in a small court yard with scattered flora and outdoor seating complete with repurposed cargo containers and various unique seating arrangements. It felt social and warm and beckoned you to share a quiet relaxing night out with friends or that special someone. Once inside, the mood is mellow. The low lighting, the choice of lighting, the colors, all mesh well to create an environment that, while not distinctly Hispanic or Latino, tells you that was the intention. The bar, as in most places, was the epicenter of activity. Grab a menu, pick your drinks and food, and order from the bartender. The bar was nice with wooden counter tops, corrugated metal siding, low lighting, decent decorations, and a neatly organized and expansive selection of spirits. The bartenders were delightful and knowledgeable at their craft. We started with the "Flaming Motorbike Cage of Death" which had a Serrano pepper liqueur that was subtle yet brought the heat. Definitely a highlight of the night. And, a "New Boot Goofin" which was bartenders choice and ended up being a rum twist on an old fashioned that was underwhelming. For food we started with the Carnitas tacos and Chicken Tinga tacos all the way including pickled red onion, guacamole, and salsa verde. While good, they were nothing to write home about. For our second round we ordered an Aperol Pupper and a chocolate martini (a tradition when eating out with my partner). The Aperol Pupper was a typical Aperol spritz with not much to note. The chocolate martini, while not on the menu, was something the bartender was delighted to make and did not disappoint with. It was not cream based, which is what we look for. While I don't know the exact ingredients used, it had strong but subtle chocolate and orange notes and was finished with a spritz of spiced cacao. We finished up with an order of chips and queso (which might be one of the best quesos I've ever had). Overall the service was amazing. There was a mix up with our order and the cook came out and apologized and offered to fix our order free of charge (although the bartender later added it to our tab). The bartenders were lively and knowledgeable making cocktails that were good and heavily focused on, of course, mezcal and tequila. If you're looking to experience decent Mexican food and take part in the mezcal trend, this spot does the job. Just don't expect to be blown away or overly impressed.

Carnitas Burrito

Super hip, trendy place to grab tacos/burritos and margaritas with friends! Decided to come here w a group of friends and luckily caught the tail end of happy hour. Perro Blanco is super casual, you just place your order at the bar. Service was quick & friendly and the ambiance was nice & lively. The food was amazing. I ordered the carnitas burrito and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of food I got for the price I paid. We also ordered loaded carnitas nachos for the table (not pictured because the phone did NOT eat first) and it was a crowd favorite. Their happy hour special of a $32 margarita pitcher was unbeatable! We were a group of 8 and two pitchers of margaritas was plenty for everyone involved. And their house marg was amazing! All in all, was a big fan of this place and I can't wait to try more of their menu!

Had to stand for about 10 mins before some people finally left then we had to like "hurry" to get the seats before anyone else got them. We needed an extra chair at our table and went up to the security to ask if he knew where anymore could be or if we could borrow the one that was behind his table since he seemed to only be standing all night, but he responded kind of harsh with a stern "NO"....def unnecessary. Even though he was rude, the bartenders were the opposite, making funny light conversation and friendly while we ordered and waited for our drinks. The atmosphere was a nice, chill, and intimate vibe, with red/orange lighting. To drink: I tried the Saturn (8/10) it was pretty good, I liked the flavor, but there really didn't seem to be much alcohol in it fr. To eat: we ordered a Margherita Pizza and added Pepperoni (10/10) it was fresh, flavorful, and all around really good. There were hints of spice in the sauce that really added to the flavors. Their pizza seems to be a popular menu item as I seen pizza boxes on almost every table throughout the night. Def will be back again, but next time, we're going to get there early, so we can have a table for the night. The menu does change each time they do come so items that you will see will vary, depending on what they are putting on for the menu. We try their Sicilian sashimi that was definitely a 10 out of 10 and good for people that want to kind of share rather than have a full plate is definitely well proportion as well as light and not too heavily in on the pallet. The vibes vary from day to day depending on what time you get there it can get really packed so the earlier the better if you want more of a calm night I would suggest getting there early rather later cause that is usually when the dj that are going on that night come in that's usually there peak time. The drinks are well crafted I tried their cocktail called Saturn it had a sweet taste and was more of tropical with the passion fruit perfect pairing with the raw fish dish we tried tonight.
