    Jessie's Critter Carousel

Jessie's Critter Carousel is one of the newer rethemed rides located in Pixar Pier at Disney's California Adventure. It's right between the Incredicoaster and Toy Story Mania. There is typically a low wait time for this ride, usually less than 15 minutes. When we had a chance to go on this ride, it was in the afternoon on a Wednesday in June. We only had to wait about 5 minutes to get on the Carousel. This ride is inspired by Toy Story 2, desert critters from the world of Woody's Roundup. The ride does close early to accommodate the World of Color performances. Summer park hours are typically 8:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M at Disney's California Adventure. The ride is great though! There are plenty of critters and the music during the ride is awesome! I didn't get motion sickness or feel queasy from this ride. It was relatively slow and didn't last too long!

So fun to take the little ones on here. Not so fun as you get older and realize you can't spin in circles for very long like you used to. Luckily there's some benches nearby to sit and reset. Restrooms are right next door. Toy Story shop also a few steps away. Stroller parking or walker parking. Staff are friendly and helpful where to direct you where to go. Located right next to incredicoaster.

Jessie's Critter Carousel is adorable!! I can't get past how cute this attraction is. I love the animals so much! They are just the cutest! I know this carousel is geared more towards children, but it's so fun. I typically don't go on carousels, but I was sold as soon as I saw the animals. I'm such an animal lover that I had to go on it lol

Our now 28 m/o son loves this ride so much! I see kids way smaller than him sitting on the animals themselves, but note that the seats are still big enough to accommodate a parent + small child pair. Now that our son jabbers all the time, he loved shouting YEEHAW as we waited in line lol. This ride is now known to our fam by his name for it - the horsies - even though none of the animals are even horses haha. Even on busy park days, we've never waited in line for this one for more than 5 min.

I know that this used to be King Triton's carousel ride and as much as I love nautical theming, I gotta hand the W to Jessie's Critter Carousel. The little critters are just WAY TOO CUTE! It's a great ride to jump on when there's no wait or when the wait is under 5-10 minutes (I've never waited longer than this). The murals are super cute and all of the critters are adorable and goofy looking too. My favorites are the bunny and racoon! Makes me wish that they had merchandise for these critters that aren't hyper exclusive D23 pins or a plush you have to win from a boardwalk game...

Love that this carousel had a bench as my parents could not get up onto the carousel animal, but they had their first Disney trip in 20 years and wanted to experience. The theming is Toy Story and seems to be a hit with both kids and adults that grew up with the original movie. Be sure to check out on your next Disneyland trip!

Cute carousel. Jessie's Critter Carousel is allows guests to ride the animals from Woody's Roundup. Animals are vibrantly colored, with bright and happy smiles. The ride has a cheerful energy. Jessie's Critter Carousel is smaller than the carousel in Disneyland. For those who do not want to ride on an animal, there are a couple of benches. Line for this ride does move relatively quickly.

Giddy Up!! OMG so cute! Located on Pixar Pier in California Adventure... Round cartoony characters to sit on, totally adorable. Naturally, this is tapered to small kids and they love it! I love it too! Nice addition to the new Pixar theme, and the jumbo sized Jessie out front helps you locate. Not too long, not too fast, perfect for the pee-wee sized critters! Weeeee!!

One carousel replaced with another. King Triton and his sea creatures made way for Jessie and her critters! Out in front is Cowgirl Jessie with her lasso around a cactus. She's got a few critters in the corral with her. All the decorations, murals, critters, etc are cartoon-like. There are murals on the walls where you'll be waiting in line. Don't worry, the line seems to move quickly enough. Maybe you can spot a Hidden Mickey or two somewhere! I know there's one on one of the carousel critters. I liked the raccoon, turtle, and rear-facing skunk! So cute! A few of the other critters are rabbits, vulture, snake, deer, armadillo and whatever else I missed. Was there a piggie? I don't recall seeing one... hmmm! I chose the turtle and it did seem pretty wide. I'm not a fan of sitting on the turtle's saddle. If I were to ride this again in the future, I would ride on a bench. The ride itself is basically just like any other carousel ride. Since I usually find myself in Disney California Adventure, I figured I might as well ride this carousel at least once! I had to test it out for myself! Now that I've experienced it, I can walk on by or watch others have fun!

Great Toy Story themed carousel in the pier area of CAA. Toddler friendly ride. There are also bench seats if your kiddos do not want to sit on an animal. Does not spin super fast. Last a good 1-2 minutes. Fun shaded ride!

Date of visit: April 20, 2019 Where else can you ride a backwards-facing skunk (one of two) on a carousel? At Jessie's Critter Carousel inside Disney California Adventure, that's where! When Paradise Pier was rethemed as Pixar Pier, King Triton's Carousel was among the rides given a Pixar makeover. Gone are the various sea creatures you and the kiddies can ride on; they've been replaced with various animals such as birds, turtles, squirrels, and the aforementioned skunks. And these critters have a cartoony look that fits the Toy Story theme! Also, there's two chariots/benches on the ride - at King Arthur's Carousel across the way at Disneyland, I believe there's only one. Pretty good ride for the youngsters and for the young at heart - plus the lines go by quickly! I only wish that Bullseye was available as a riding option (much like Jingles on King Arthur's Carousel).

I was personally very sad to see the king Triton carousel get replaced by this toy story themed carousel but Jessies critter carousel is an adorable replacement to the previous sea themed carousel This ride is located directly between the incredicoaster and the toy story Midway mania. the lines for this ride are typically low and even when they are long they do move fairly quickly so the estimated weight times are somewhat exaggerated on the Disneyland apps when it comes to how long you were actually waiting in line for this ride Like any carousel there are lots of characters appealing to children but I feel like this carousel has a much larger carrying creatures then the former king Triton or king Arthur carousel. I didn't care too much for the music but I do love the colors the brightness of the ride and the fact that my children absolutely loved it so definitely recommend Writing this at least once if you are crunched for time definitely one you can skip

I want to be able to say only the best of things about Disney because I love being there with my family and we always have a blast but, with this ride...I just can't. And that breaks my heart. So, what's wrong? First, the design leaves something to be desired. While the cartoonish animals are in theme with Woody's Round-Up, in comparison to the beautiful, whimsical designs of King Tritons' Carosel, it just fails to deliver. Next: the speed. It's so much slower than King Arthur's Carosel next park over. Maybe it's supposed to be geared more towards kids but, Disney is a place where everyone gets to feel childlike. Finally: the ergonomics. I've never sat on something more uncomfortable in my life. I honestly looked forward to the ride ending. It's barrel bodied base pressed in the most perfect spot to render a twitch to my eye. The carosel in Disneyland has a curved saddle that craddles your heiney with a gentle caress compared to the unyeilding construction of my backwards skunk. (Cute skunk though.)

My younger kids love this ride, often requesting multiple trips and, honestly, because of the minimal wait, I'm always happy to oblige. Not to mention it's always fun to go on one of the original rides of the park. It's fun to think about how many people over 70 years have gone around and around. The ornate decorations of the ride are absolutely stunning. There's so much to look at that I feel like I see something new every time I ride it. Finally, this is a great area to character watch. I've also seen so many of them ride the actual ride. Something that can't be accommodated on most rides. On my last trip we saw Peter Pan goofing off and riding much to the delight of kids (& let's be honest, their parents too). I often feel like a lot of people without little kids just pass right on through Fantasyland because there aren't any thrill rides. But, honestly, it's rides like this with its history and uniqueness that make it a near required ride for me on any Disneyland trip.

It's one of the most boring rides in either California park, but I'll ride it if the lines for other stuff is too long. Styled like sleek Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon rocket ships, it feels like a throwback to the glory days of old school science fiction. You board your shiny rocket and glide out over Paradise Bay, getting great views of Pixar Pier and the water below while a breezy, retro soundtrack plays. It's not about thrills but it's about vibes. If you're expecting something like Dumbo or the Astro Orbiter, this ride works a little differently. You don't control how high or low your rocket goes. Instead, the motion comes from the spinning that lifts you up and out. That gives it a smooth, floating sensation that's surprisingly relaxing, especially compared to more hands-on spinner rides. It's also high enough that if you aren't a fan of heights, you may want to skip this one. Sit on the OUTSIDE of the rocket if you're scared of heights because if you are on the inside, it can look like you may fall out when it hits a sharp angle. I also find the seating to be slightly cramped so beware if you're a Pooh-sized park visitor. One thing to keep in mind: the Golden Zephyr is at the mercy of the weather. If winds hit 10 miles per hour or more, the ride shuts down. This means it's almost never running thanks to Anaheim's delightfully breezy days.

24 straight hours at Disneyland, how can you go wrong?…read more The last time something like this happened was 25 years ago when Disneyland turned 25 and they stayed open for 25 straight hours. Special food options, special entertainment and of course stuff to buy! I got there midway through the afternoon, I had friends who lined up at 10pm the night before since they were giving special edition Mickey ears to the first 2000 people through the gate. They had 3000 people there before the gates even opened at 6am. When I arrived in the afternoon it was busy, but not overly busy. Later in the day it was a different story...they actually hit capacity a few times and closed on more than one occasion. From 930pm to 1am they wouldn't let anyone in at all. The lines got worse as the night wore on, at 4am the line for Space Mountain was 140 minutes long. BUT...if you were there, you didn't really care about riding any rides, you just wanted to be a part of history. I really hope Disneyland does something like this again...I would be one of the first people through the gates. :0)

I'm pretty sure this is my first review in which I've given something Disney-related less than 3…read morestars. I was first excited when I heard about the 24 hour Disney day on leap day. After all, what better way to spend your extra day that only comes every four years at Disneyland? The problem was, everyone in their Mom was about to go balls-to-the-wall on this day as well. I know a few of my friends who stayed the entire 24 hours from 6AM on February 29th to 6AM on March 1st, and for them spending that long at Disneyland was probably worth it. However, the throngs of people I encountered when I attempted to walk through the happiest place on Earth was pretty difficult to endure. I went at night to do it for the story, and maybe stay a little bit their usual hours, but by by the time 11:30 rolled around, it was definitely not worth it. Literally, navigating down Main Street meant being sandwiched between strangers, nearly losing my friends and feeling like cattle. We only got to ride IJ with a wait of about 40 minutes, and that in itself was kind of a miracle because they had shut down the ride (unknown to us), and when they opened it up again, we nearly breezed through the maze. Next, we tried to check out Thunder Mountain Railroad but we found a 2 hour wait...say what? That was when my tiredness had gotten the best of me and I decided to get some ice cream and call it a day. When we left Dland was at capacity...that's like 75,000 people! No wonder the waiting times became sky high. While it was nice to be a part of Disney history, it definitely wasn't "as good as it gets", I'm not a fan, and it wasn't even just "A-OK". Sorry Walt but I've had better than becoming claustrophobic on Main Street.
