He said he wouldn't have time to add custom decorations, but I had an idea and had him frost 11 in green and 1 in red. When I picked them up on Saturday, he added two cookies to the box. I also ordered a meat pie and a kofta wrap and while I was waiting, he gave me two pieces of warm baklava, fresh from the oven! Absolutely delicious. When everything was ready, he carried it out to my car for me, since I had the stroller. He's such a kind man. And oh my gosh... possibly the best cupcakes I've ever had. The frosting was light and more buttery than sweet. I usually take the frosting off of cupcakes but I didn't this time because it was just too good. The lemon curd center was tangy and just the right level of sweetness. I will return to Michael's for every birthday/anniversary/party from now on. Oh and that meat pie is going to live in my brain forever. So aromatic and delicious... I got it for my husband but had eaten half of it by the time I got home. Whoops!

Even though I've lived in the area, this was my first time stopping by -- and I was pleasantly surprised. I came in for one of their regular strawberry shortcake cakes. I was greeted immediately upon arrival, and though the cakes weren't on display, they had them ready in the fridge "in the back." The staff was quick and helpful. While waiting, I browsed for one of their stuffed breads, but they didn't have any out at the moment. A staff member let me know fresh ones would be ready in about 15 minutes and kindly asked if I wanted to wait. I wasn't in a rush, so I waited in their cozy little seating area. Once the bread was ready, they packed it up for me. The service was friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome. I'll definitely be back!
