Tamar was extremely organized, very polite and mindful of my budget. After an initial phone conversation, I sent her pictures of the room. Her first suggestion was a simple lighting change. Karolina is not afraid of color! She listens, observes, and is generous with ideas and options. Over the last couple of years as our budget and time has allowed, she's helped us to evolve our home design including living room, office, entry, and bathroom. (We're still a work in progress, so forgive the too-small art in the office photo and other imperfections.) The best designs are those that feel like an expression of your own style, even if someone else has guided you to it. That's what working with Karolina has been like. She even came and personally hung some artwork to ensure it was placed perfectly. Thank you, Karolina!

I greatly appreciated Karolina's help in giving us advice for how to get ready for the sale of our house. She was highly skilled and thorough, giving me a check list of things to work on. We chipped away at the tasks for months. When we were close to ready to list our house, our real estate agent offered the services of her in-house stager, too. We took the additional advice (there wasn't much left to do - mostly adding decorating pieces) and our house sold within a week with multiple offers. It would have sold sooner but we had an offer review period.

She took the time to listen to our goals for the house and made sure to strike a balance between what my wife and I wanted. She was very respectful of the house's age and focused on creating a timeless design for each room. We're big fans of color, and it's clear that she's really skilled at working with it, which is why we chose her in the first place. Overall, we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out!

We hired Rebecca in December of 2021 to work on three rooms -- our entryway, living room, and…read moremaster bathroom. Our contract stated that she would provide design and project management services. We also purchased furniture from her for our living room. In total, we paid her approximately $50k for all of these services and products. Throughout the project, Rebecca made us feel as though we were her absolute lowest priority and frequently showed little to no regard for our time. After we paid her for the furniture, Rebecca stopped communicating with us. Her contract states that she will respond to questions and comments within 3 business days, but she frequently ignored our emails and we would typically not hear from her for 4-6 weeks, only after repeated emails from us requesting updates. For 6 months, Rebecca repeatedly told us our technical drawings would be ready within 1 or 2 weeks. Then we would not hear from her for 4-6 weeks, and would often have to email her two or more times before we would even receive a response. In her response, she would simply repeat that we could expect our drawings within 2 weeks. This cycle repeated for 6 months, and we finally received technical drawings in March of 2023, nearly 15 months after we began working with her. The drawings themselves lacked details such as terminations and returns, and even included the wrong colors. These issues were never corrected. Rebecca showed very little regard for our time. She frequently canceled appointments at the last minute without explanation, usually in the middle of the day that she was supposed to meet with us. We generally did not hear from her again for 4-6 weeks at a time, only after repeated emails. After 18 months of this behavior, we finally sought legal counsel. Only after this did Rebecca finally respond to us and deliver our furniture. However, when we had an issue with one of the chairs that required a warranty claim, the same behavior emerged. We would not hear from her for many weeks on end, and appointments were canceled at the last minute, on the day she was supposed to visit. We had a remarkably poor experience with Rebecca. Our project for 3 small rooms should have taken several months, but has instead extended to nearly 2 years without being completed. We would strongly recommend avoiding her services.

(Pardon the non-professional cellphone photos!)…read more Our family of four had a wonderful experience working with MDID on our home renovation. Michelle took the time to understand each of our individual styles and what we wanted our space to feel like, blending all of our unique preferences seamlessly into the design. And, it wasn't an easy task with the differing opinions and preferences in the family. She balanced creativity, practicality, and our constraints to bring our dreams to life. Michelle's ideas encouraged us to step just outside our comfort zone, resulting in a home that feels both unique and authentically "us." Throughout the process, Michelle and her team were organized, professional, and detail-oriented. They provided options at different price points and were always mindful of our budget, which we really appreciated. Communication was always clear and prompt. She stayed engaged with us and the construction company, flexibly adapting to the inevitable curve balls that came our way. We did face some real difficulties selecting a general contractor and major bumps along the way with different subcontractors, and Michelle risked offering insights from her depth of experience in a very respectful manner to guide us. She remained attentive to every last detail and was an advocate for us throughout the whole design and build process. We know we couldn't have gotten the house we now have at the amount we spent without MDID. We loved working with Michelle and her team. We know we saved time, money, and our sanity, and we feel very spoiled living in our beautiful home! It's gorgeous. We highly recommend working with MDID.
