Shopping in Burien, Washington... We were headed for this Ross yesterday, but saw IKEA first and bought a bath mat there. Shucks! The bath mats at Ross have a lower price! Oh, well... We looked at pet supplies, shoes, hair accessories, phone supplies, stationary, personal care items, kitchen gadgets, costume jewelry, and t-shirts. We ended up just getting a set of Stitch socks! There was a Security Guard at the door who greeted everyone as they entered and checked receipts as customers left. The cashier was friendly and efficient. We talked about Trader Joe's around the corner and how they still have the mini cooler bags... LOL! Thanks for the Tuesday Club's 10 percent discount! read more

Customer service was good, even though not well staffed. The cashier's were still kind and friendly. The selection was decent and the value is always pretty good. It's the selection where you have to actually take the time and look there's lots of parking in their private parking lot that they share with other stores And yes, it can be rather difficult to find parking, but I would definitely say check it out read more

You get for what you pay for! At times Ross can slap but overall this location, like most now SUCK! Sure I want to wait at the door from 1-10 mins! I love being followed by the "secret shopper" who's not good at their job, babes you were so close you could smell my armpits... oddly didn't leave that one section you were in, ps toys and kids shoes we're hopping. The absolute best is do you like waiting in line for 20 minutes+ to check out? Value is 1 out of ten. Be careful what you purchase it may work or not. Boo. It's the Friday before Labor Day and ramped school shopping. I went through the store and chose about $100 worth of home goods. I chose one blouse and and went to back dressing rooms. It was closed. Said to go to the front. There are only 2 dressing rooms up there. Both were occupied, 1 with a mother constantly adding to the clothing in room. There were 3 people ahead of me with lots of clothes for try on. I asked the security guard why the rooms in back weren't open. He said, no body is trained for it. I had to pick up my granddaughter, so I threw my blouse in basket and walked out of store angry. It wasn't just today. There is an ongoing problem of poor management! read more

I don't tend to post reviews, negative or positive as I think there is too much focus on customer experience in this world. That being said I had an experience that goes beyond bad service into borderline trauma. I entered the Burien store looking for an item. The moment I entered I was told to get out by the loss prevention associate. I was stunned into silence as I was accused of stealing perfume at some point. My partner fortunatly did insist that there needed to be a burden of proof, to which he was treated by both the loss prevention and the front manager who was not listening up until that point as hostile and threating. While my partner was heated, his ask was not unreasonable. This did cause them to confirm that I was not in fact who they thought I was and did offer an apology and a verbal offer of 10% off but as they didn't have the item I was seeking anyway I left and I don't trust them to remember they still owe me 10% off on a future visit as clearly their memories can be fooled. Working in loss prevention previously I understand their role and it's difficulties. But saying "get out" like I am a teenager at a local convenience store and providing no explanation until it was clear that I was not leaving is unprofessional. Also having asked people to leave premises in the past, unless I am 100% certain someone is 86ed I get visual confirmation before approaching. The security guard who stands in the front saying "Hello, welcome to Ross," in the exact same monotone is the most annoying person on the planet. How is that even a job? Other than that, this place has gone downhill. There is way too much Jesus stuff...almost impossible to find anything now that isnt emblazoned with a bible verse. If you are a shopper, you will be treated like a CRIMINAL. I was harassed over 20 TIMES WITHIN A 10 MINUTE TIME FRAME by the guy saying, "How are you?" and it was the security guy. I was simply LOOKING and I did not have a backpack or anything. Being from the East Coast, I do not mind being direct. So, I said, "Is there a reason why you are following me everywhere?" and he said, "Just want to make sure you are okay" so I said, "It seems like you think I am stealing and I am not" and he finally walked away after giving me a weird, serial killer stare for a while. Curious if it is necessary to announce EVERYONE that comes through the door with the same mono tone voice " Hello, welcome to Ross" not everyone in the store needs to know that your inside. Also your job is loss prevention not to watch the lines and scream that " register 4 is open. Also Seems every worker there has a frown on their face an they don't help you and if you ask for help it seems like a inconvenience. The majority of the workers are extremely rude and disrespectful. One worker didn't even hand me my bag, she just threw the receipt in my bag and didn't even say bye. The store is very messy and there are hardly any cashiers working at check out. I like shopping at Ross but this Ross is always so messy and I have many bad experiences with the workers. read more

Who manages this store? IS there a manager? Who schedules the workers? Tonight was one of MANY visits where 4 "security" people greet me by screaming "welcome to Ross" loud enough to startle just about anyone. They drift through the store, meanwhile there is only ONE cashier. And it appears to be her first day. I didn't necessarily find what I was looking for. It's expected with these discount stores but it's hard to find things in XL which is my size. I was looking for dress up shirts and everything in there is either too small or too outdated. Staff members said hi to me and people were friendly. Store was clean to me. This store is a mess. Stuff scattered everywhere, nothing in its place, mismatched shoes broken merchandise but for a store like Ross that's pretty standard. What drives me insane is the cashiers. Before you've even gotten a chance to insert your card into the machine they are calling the next person over which means someone is standing right behind you as you enter your pin. What if you card gets declined for some reason and that person is right there to hear the whole thing? Embarrassing much! And what if it's a shady person who happens to see your card number and pin? I reserve one star review for businesses that offend me, so I couldn't give them a one star, but I'm not sure it deserves a two star rating. I don't know how such a big store can have such lame inventory. They had the standard women's, men's, home, beauty, and kids sections you'd expect, but I just wasn't feeling it! I wasn't able to find anything I wanted in the entire store, and I'm the most easily entertained person out there. I actually have better luck at Vale Village just down the road. read more

If Angel is the manager at this Burien location, he's terrible at his job and has NO idea what the store policy is. My wife purchased a shirt at the tukwila location yesterday and didn't realize till she got home that they forgot to remove the security device. We called the tukwila location and they said we can go to the nearest Ross and they should be able to remove it OR refund you the money if we would like. (We have proof of purchase, tag numbers match on receipt, etc.) They can't remove the device because it's not the right one that store uses. Perfect, we understand that. They won't refund our money because of that tag. Angel ended up calling her a thief in front of everyone. Very unprofessional. I ended up speaking to him and told him make this make sense on why I can't return this. He said it's the policy. I told him show me proof that it's under the policy and if it is, I apologize and we'll leave. Could not show me proof. He stood there quiet, gave me corporates number and walked away like a coward and hid in the dressing room waiting for my family and I to leave. Went to Tukwilas location, and refunded our money NO PROBLEM. Shout out to Angel at the Burien location cause youre trash. You better not be scheming others because of your lack of knowledge. I am a bargain shopper. I love scanning and rummaging the racks for hidden gems and irresistible deals. Let's just say I left underwhelmed with money still burning a hole in my pocket. Not to mention the torrential down pour that decided to make an appearance as I was walking to my car. Bad Shopping+Rain=Frizzy hair and the thirst for an adult beverage. The racks were full of crap. No name, no good no names, just a bunch of poorly made crap! It seems as if this is the dumping store for all the other Ross stores in the area. My expectations are pretty low when I shop here anyway, but the customer service is absolutely awful. Saw multiple employees standing around talking, and one poor cashier with a line 10+ people deep. You'd think if Ross can afford to have security guards standing around to discourage people from stealing, they could have another cashier or two to encourage the customers who actually want to spend their money there to not just set their items down, leave and never come back. read more

This store has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I used the fitting room, and after the failed to greet me or acknowledge me let me know, I exited. I hung my item back on what appeared to a go back rack. The previously silent attendant snaps at me, saying I should have brought the item to him. I let him know I was only hanging it up and I didn't know that he was going to talk to me as he didn't initially. "Oh wow!" He remarks loudly. Then proceeds to get in the radio to gossip about me, which prompts several employees to walk past me glaring. Not every customer is going to know how your fitting rooms work, and failing to inform them of anything before they enter doesn't help. I wouldn't have even cared if he didn't snap at me and proceed to gossip about me to all other associates which led to them gawking at me. I guess I shouldn't expect much, it's burien. read more

I just can't.. this store when it first opened was OK. I went yesterday to find an outfit and my first sight was unaccompanied toddlers. Screaming children, yelling parents that couldn't control their kids, clothes on the floor, empty racks. I used the bathroom before shopping and it was so so so dirty! Customer service sucks! They clearly don't like their jobs and really can't stand yelling children running wild snatching clothes off of the racks that they have to put back at some point. No one checks to see how you are doing, fitting rooms are really small and dirty. I finally got fed up and just went to a different store. I don't know if I will return... I am dreading to go back to this location because the last couple of times I've been in this store I was followed around the store like I was some sort of criminal. I spend so much money in this store and for these associates to treat me like this was so embarrassing and uncomfortable. Is it because this location is in Burien? Is it because I am a BIPOC? Literally one of the associates was so close to me trying to pick up something off the floor right next to me that I felt her shirt brushed against me. Keep in mind it's in the middle of Covid. Everyone is supposed to be 6 feet apart. Then I get to the register and I don't know if it was because I had a lot in my cart (I'm redecorating my living room, bedroom and bathrooms) the cashier was so rude because in the middle of her ringing me up I remembered I had another associate hold some jewelry for me and I wanted to make sure I bought it so when I asked her to grab the jewelry on hold she tells me that she will only do this once but the next time if I don't ask her to get the jewelry before she starts to ring up my other items she won't ring me up anymore. Is there a policy that states that you have to ask for your jewelry on hold before the cashier rings up your items??? Another time I came to return a few items that didn't fit my daughter since you aren't able to try on items due to Covid- the cashier was huffing and puffing at me in frustration because I had a lot of Ross receipts and couldn't find the exact ones that had the merchandise on them. The cashier then rushes me by saying that she would just use my ID and just do store credit. I end up later going to the South Center Ross to return one item to find out that I couldn't do the no receipt return because I had already done it previously at the Burien location with the rude cashier that didn't feel like helping me find my receipt when I had the receipt! This was literally the one and only time I didn't have the receipt because it got wet in my cup holder. I literally shop here all the time and to be treated like this was unacceptable. The South Seattle and West Seattle Ross store associates are so much nicer. I am dreading going in this store so bad but they have such great deals. Please pray that I don't get harassed while returning me dress and then wanting to shop. It's Mother's Day for Christ's sake. Fingers crossed. read more

I just went shopping at the Burien Wa store this morning at 11:00am. After I tried on clothes I went to purchase about $200.00 worth of clothes. After I stood in line for 10 minutes, I still counted over 25 people in line in front of me. Two cashiers were helping customers, one security guard greeting customers and a manager just standing watching. Four customers left angrily that were standing in front of me. In the ten minutes I was there, one customer said he was going to Fred Meyer and that driving there would be faster than waiting in line, one guy just took his stuff and walked straight out the door without paying with alarms going off, one guy put all his stuff on a shelf and walked out and I ended up putting my stuff back on the racks and leaving. Just in that ten minutes the store probably lost about $400.00 worth of revenue. Compared to paying two extra employees to work as cashiers at the usual pay of $10.00 and hour. I don't understand why this happens every time that I have tried to shop at this store. Is it management trying to cut cost on employees or is this a corporate decision to have only one or two cashiers? I feel like you are losing money and also making your customers angry waiting 25 minutes in line. read more

It might be because I was looking for some shoes for my son, and literally there was nothing to really choose from. This is a relatively new location in Burien. You can find many cool items form clothing to kitchen etc. The prices are always reasonable and the quality is good. Parking is plenty. It's always hard to find someone if you have a questions but you can ask your questions to employees from the fitting room section. read more

This place is ridiculous. I spent an Hour shopping for clothes and then saw the line. There was about 30 people in the line with one cashier on duty. This was a Friday night. Custina was really rude, I had a bunch of clothes in my hand and pushing my grandmother in a wheelchair. The line to the register was too much of a maze to go through the regular line and we went to the other line because it was easier to push the wheelchair. I wasn't trying to cut, I was simply waiting for the line for people with disabilities to be open and I was letting everyone in line ahead of us go first. She tried yelling at me in front of everyone to go to the other line. I tried to explain the situation and that I was waiting for EVERYONE to go ahead of me.....and not cutting it was just easier because the wheelchair, she gave me and ugly look and the woman next to her was nice and said we were okay. She totally embarrassed me and my grandmother. We were not trying to be rude and cut, it was just easier to push her though. Not pleased with the service and crap attitude from Custina! Last but not least, this place is kind of dumpy looking and the bathroom was nasty. So it Custina was just the icing on the cake of a bad visit! read more

The idea behind Ross is that it's a treasure hunt. You have to look yourself so there's no customer service which is fine. If you want customer service go to Macy's or Nordstrom. That being said you can generally find great deals here on most items. There are some things you shouldn't buy here though such as food items. The jrs clothes are mostly junk and cheap items. Men's department has the better deals as far as quality goes. This store is best for socks , boxers, and t shirts. You can find some awesome deals in the home department. Prices are really good. Knocking down one star because the bathrooms are always filthy no matter what and the store can be really messy but that's because people allow their kids to mess around and no one puts items back where they belong. Whatever your looking for you can usually find it here for 20-60 percent less than other stores. Don't shop at this store unless you want to be treated like a criminal. I'm an older woman who wanted to shop for a bra. Someone--the manager, obviously--sent a young male clerk over to "straighten" the intimate apparel on the aisle I was on, leaving me no room to even turn around. At one point he even stood between me and the bras I was trying to look at, not straightening anything at all. WHAT?! First of all, I'm a customer who should be given the space I need to look at the merchandise. This particular clerk could have straightened the apparel elsewhere until I was done. Second, I was shopping for intimate apparel and it made me really uncomfortable to have this young man basically scrutinizing my every move. I'm not a shoplifter. I worked at a Ross store years ago and so I know the store is often under staffed, the employees don't get paid very well and have to work very late hours picking up the clothes and other items customers throw on the floor...oh and yes, the occasional vomit or other bodily fluids that customers think is okay to leave in the bathroom or elsewhere. Once we even found some in a shoe...So I try to be really nice when I shop at any retail store, because I know first hand how poorly they can be treated. I've found the cashier's to be pleasant if I ask them how they are doing and are courteous to them. read more
