We left to go to a Dr where parking was easier but now with uber parking is a non-issue. i called recently to get an appt and now that he's associated with Northwell, there's just no incentive to accept new patients. His assistant said as a general rule of thumb and policy, they do NOT take patients if you left before. they just take newborns. Weird and what a way to be a dr. I have to say he was fast and efficient with his partner Dr Tran. Dr Tran called to check up on my kid with a fever of 105. That was pre-Northwell and about 3.5 years ago. I think anyone dr eaten by the giant Northwell suffers -- both drs and patients. The assistant said they'd call back but of course never did. read more

Dr. Jesse Ko has been really great. Being a new parent, he has been both helpful and available. He showed up at the hospital to check on our baby. We checked on the babys blood for Jaundice levels (all asians seem to have Jaundice btw, very common). The levels were getting higher each time we went, and he actually made his office available for us to do more blood tests on Sunday and Martin Luther Kings Day even though they were closed. After his instructions to sunbathe the baby, everything has improved. Baby is healthy and we're extremely happy with Dr. Ko and his team. Parking can be a bit challenging though as this is in a residential area. read more

Originally we were recommended Dr. Ko from my sister-in-law and were so happy we've made him our son's paediatrician. He's very patient answering any questions we have and in him physical examinations. He had a wealth of knowledge as well as experience, you can trust you're child is in good hands. He also gave us a few formula sample tins on our first visit. The ladies at the desk are very courteous and efficient, always calling to remind of upcoming appointments or if anything changes with an appointment time. Our most recent appointment was made with very short notice as it was urgent. The Thursday afternoon I called, the office was closed so I left a message and within minutes Dr. Ko gave me a call back informing me that he could squeeze my son in the following morning. I was very thankful for this as my son was quite sick. The office itself is very clean and spacious as opposed to every other doctor's' office I've been to, wait times are good also, I've only waited 20 minutes at most. We have to drive from Jackson Heights but it's worth it and definitely recommend him. read more

Since the review I have left the practice. Dr.Ko I don't know what happened to you but he became a cold uncaring physician. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and stayed, but after multiple encounters of his cold and harsh ways towards my tots, I decided no more and have since left. If I could give a separate review for Dr.Trani it would be a 5. I'm giving 2 stars because Dr. Trani is still a jewel and very kind, caring, and patient but for some reason we kept getting Dr.Ko and couldn't understand how impatient and cold he was towards children. You're a pediatrician! Be creative and patient when interacting with toddlers! Also- Parking is very hard. Some days you can find near the front some days a few blocks away- all of which I could've tolerated had he remained warm and patient. Dr. Ko and Dr. Trani has been my kids pediatrician since birth. Both of them are extremely caring. They don't have a nurse to do all the prelim work so they are personal with every step of our visits. We never have any issues making sick appointments nor have to wait more than 10 minutes in the office for our appoints. Never feel rushed and both doctors take time to explain everything to us and answer any questions we have. Also they are on call 24/7. I remembered when my son was a newborn, I call them for minor issues (major at the time) middle of the night. They are always patient and explains everything to ease a new mother's worries. I've been meaning to write this for a while. My daughter started seeing Dr. Ko since she was born and then we had an insurance change and had to switch doctors. I can't tell you how sad I was and how different my experience was with the other office. Since then I've had another insurance change and when I saw that Dr. Ko accepted my newest insurance, I went back to him IMMEDIATELY! Dr. Ko is warm, kind, patient, gentle and caring. The last doctor was nice but I didn't feel any kind of connection or sense of care. There is never a long wait in Dr. Ko's waiting room. In the other office, we've waited almost an hour! And the waiting room wasn't even full! Dr. Ko's new receptionist might be the nicest person I have ever dealt with in customer service. She is the perfect match for Dr. Ko's office. Parking can be difficult but it's worth it!! I highly recommend Dr. Ko!! read more

Jesse Ko is a great doctor. He was actually my pediatrician after I moved here to Bayside years ago, and now I am also using him for my own son. He came to visit my son in the hospital when he was born for a checkup, and was very helpful when my son had jaundice. I was very stressed out about it but he was very professional and assured me that everything would be fine, and it was. He is patient and kind and takes his time to make sure that you understand everything. Wait times are usually not too bad. It can be a little difficult to get an appointment on weekends because he does book up quickly, so I would recommend calling a few months in advance. read more

I was lucky enough to stumble upon Dr Ko's office while doing research on new pediatricians while pregnant with my second child. He accepted us as new patients because of my newborn, and I was able to transfer my older son to him as well. Otherwise, Dr Ko does not take new patients, which is a shame since both my sister-in-law and my brother are in need of a good pediatrician and I cannot say enough good things about him and his associate Dr. Trani. They are both very caring and patient people with great bedside manner. They were gentle and soft spoken with both my sons and I have never had an issue with them returning calls as all new parents seem to do. My sons are now 4 and 7 and while they may not LOVE coming to the doctor (because really who likes getting shots?), they do enjoy talking to the doctor and getting the sticker! read more

Dr. Ko is very punctual and schedules his patients throughout the day accordingly. My son started his fever last Friday evening and had been on medication for a week. The fever did not go away. I called the office this Thursday and spoke to Mandy. I told her the situation and wanted to see the doctor. It is common sense something was not right since he has been on fever reliever for so many days and the fever still did not go away. Mandy told me the office was closed on Friday but we could come in on Saturday. I requested an appointment on Saturday. She said that I couldn't make an appointment on Saturday, but if I called on Saturday morning, they would be able to let me know when to come in. I asked them their Saturday office hour and she said 9 to 5. Even though I was still worried about my 2 year-old, I felt a little bit at ease we would see the doctor on Saturday. On Saturday morning, I called the office and it was Mandy again, I asked her when we could come in. Mandy said to me that the appointments were all booked for today, but she could have the doctor to call me. Are you kidding me? I just spoke to her two days ago. Apparently, she forgot our conversation on Thursday at all. My son was having a fever of 101 now and every minute was killing me. Also, she said the office would close early when she told me the office was 9 to 5 on Thursday. Doctors, you need to watch who you are hiring and what they are doing to your patients. What happened today was such a shame. The receptionist needs to be more responsible when they talk to patients. This is not just a business but also a good deed. read more

It took me 1 month to get an appointment for my child then they cancelled on me because the doctor won't be in. The next weekend appointment will be in August. That's a 6 months wait for a simple checkup. Really unacceptable. Dr. Ko's office used to be very good with appointments but it is now horrible. Appointments are super hard to get and any weekend appointments is a 6 months wait. I'm looking for a different pediatrician. read more

He is the most inattentive, uncaring pediatrician. It is a shame he calls himself a pediatrician. He was so rough on both of my children, hurried us up and told us he had another patient coming in as we were dressing our kids. My son had an eye infection, he didn't even look at his eyes AT ALL and just prescribed medication to put around his eye without explaining what it does, how often we should put on and the type of medication it was. He pressed so hard on my son's arm that he ended up with a bruise. He was always in rush and told my daughter to put her shoes on outside because he needs to see his next patient so my daughter walked back to the waiting room in her socks. All he wants is the money and although he asked us if we have any questions at the end of every visit, he would just answer you in one sentence and asked you again if you have more questions, then answer back with one line.
