One time my daughter's basic data wouldn't even show up in their system. Last week I brought my daughter's school form for the doctor to sign, and I go to pick it up after a week, and they can't find it. They have misplaced the form even though I had explicitly asked them not to lose it when I dropped it off. What's worse, the exact same thing happened last year. It really boggles my mind how a doctor's office can be so bad at basic filing system. It seems they just don't care about patients, which is disappointing. Pls improve.

I started bringing my eldest daughter to Dr. Calagos in November of 2015,and we haven't turned back. Dr. Calagos is caring, informative, and very willing to answer any and all questions. She genuinely cares about children and their health. I ask a lot of questions but I never felt like I was bothering her. My first couple of years there I did have some serious issues with one of the front desk staff, she was just very rude and unprofessional. However, it seems like she is no longer working there and the front desk staff is great! Isidra is always so helpful. I now bring my two children here, and I am very happy with them. Sometimes their is a wait but they are always willing to accommodate last minute schedule changes, so I totally understand. Will continue to come here as long as I live in the area.

They are charging $560 for a nasal flu test and $415 for the office visit. After insurance adujsting, they charge me $456.89. They didn't tell me a nasal fue test would cost $560. To disput this bill is hard. The phone number on the bill is connecting to Optum billing department. They asked me to call Dr's office or my insurance company. The lady Mrs. Kin(or Kim) in charge of bill from the Dr's office didn't answer my question. She asked me to have my insurance company to do a 3 ways call with her. So I called my insurance company and set up the 3 ways call at the time Mrs. Kin suggested, but she didn's answer the phone. Tried to dial 3 times, no one answered the phone. I have been kicked back and forth on the phone calls. I sent many messages via MyChart billing, but were ignored or only answered as noticed, checking. The only Email I am getting from them is a over due notice that not allowed an reply(noreply@optummedical.com). My disputing of this bill is totally ignored. As a loyal customer for over ten years, I have been paying their high amount of bills without delay, paying their $10 charge of forms many times. This bill is the last straw that overloads the camel. I would not recommend this practice to any parents.

From the moment I arrived, it felt like I was being judged simply because I look young. The doctor, the registration lady, and two other staff members all acted as if I didn't know my own child or what I was talking about. It became four against one, and instead of listening to a concerned mother, they treated me like I was the problem. What makes this even worse is that one of the Black staff members who later tried to calm me down admitted out loud that she could feel how warm my daughter was and could hear her cough. She literally said she felt her body temperature and felt her cough -- meaning she knew my daughter was sick. Yet she still stood there defending the doctor instead of speaking up or making sure my daughter was checked right away. Because of their lack of urgency, I had to raise my voice and cause a scene just to get attention -- something no parent should ever have to do when their child is sick. And the worst part? When we finally went to CityMD afterward, my daughter had a temperature of 104° and tested positive for COVID. So not only was she sick -- she was extremely sick, and they ignored every sign. Instead of support, I was made to feel delusional, dramatic, and "crazy," when all I was doing was advocating for my child. If that staff member could feel my daughter's temperature and hear her cough, then she knew something was wrong. She could have spoken up long before things escalated. No mother should be treated this way. No child should be ignored like that. I came for help, not judgment. (The first pediatrician we went to did not follow protocol which was why we switched) They take a lot of insurances but their website might not be fully updated so I would call to double check. The front office is also pretty good when you call for information. They also take NYS CHP insurance. Don't park at the mall since you might get towed however there are a decent amount of street parking within a 3 block radius. The entrance is right at the bus stop so do not drive into any of the parking lots! Stop right at the bus stop and you will see a path from the sidewalk to the side of the apartment building. There is a small sign by the sidewalk so it can be easy to miss.

It's nice to see a doctor that genuinely cares about their job and the patients they see. Getting in contact with her is always simple. She returns all phone calls, and in case of an emergency she'll give you her cell. She takes her time answering questions and doesn't make the visits feel rushed. It was also important to me that I found an office with a good vaccine policy. No one wants to bring their children around other kids who don't vaccinate, so I'm glad she respects that. The office is new, clean, and comfortable. The only downside would be the attitude of the receptionist. She doesn't seem very interested in her job and talking to her feels like you're being a bother, but it's just one small hiccup. Highly recommend!
