I went to Jerusalem Cafe because of the good reviews. I do not agree with them. I got the schwarma and was disappointed!! I have schwarma a lot from different places and this was not good. The meat was tough and had very little taste. The rice was just yellow, also without much taste. I also treated myself to a baklava mix and they tasted old and soggy like it had been sitting for days. Not crispy and sweet like it should be. The person at the register also made me feel unwelcome. There is a table next to the counter (for extra distance, ARE WE STILL DOING THIS!!!) with a plastic tablecloth (which needed wiping) and the card reader and I was just told to "insert your card". Overall I would say good. We had it delivered We had the chicken shawarma, the beef pita and the avocado falafel sandwich. The avocado Sandwich was our least favorite and I would say the chicken shawarma was our favorite. So goooood. The rice was great and chicken flavored very well. The beef pita was also good but way tastier just eating the beef right out of the sandwich. Very tender and flavorful. Delivery was fast although I did not like the fact that they gave me no receipt nor a menu for future ordering. Tried this place yesterday-The food was good - I thought it was pricy till it arrived at the table. They give you generous portions. We had to take some home. A good variety on the menu. Always searching for good Middle Eastern food but it's never an easy find. Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon while doing errands and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and portions. Salmon dish was a little too dry for my liking, but it had great taste. Chicken tenders the chicken tenders dinner was also very good and made to order. The garlic sauce, hot sauce and green sauce were absolutely delicious too. But the tabouli salad was very watery unlike others we've had in the past. If you're in the neighborhood you're looking for a Mediterranean dish, it's a good place to stop by. Now I noticed something about the taste it doesn't have lots of sodium whatsoever so if you are used to lot of salt don't expect to have it coming here. I love the fact they don't use lot of salt, less the better. The hummus was different compared to what I had eating at other places. Seems like their hummus are the less flavoring the better you taste chickpeas. To me the food is not about the taste, but the original way of Jerusalem food is prepared that is a message that I received eating their food. I respected that as whole. The falafel sandwich is pretty good, my son ate it, and he is a very picky eater. I also had FRESH pressed ORANGE JUICE, no sugary added to it so I gave this spot a, Bonus Star. OMG! I stopped here for a combination chicken and beef shawarma combination. The woman who took my order absolutely knew I wanted this specific dish yet I received the wrong good. I got a tiny bit of chicken shawarma and the rice was mushy and the owner was incredibly rude unprofessional. Lazy didn't want to cook beef shawarma for me making a very poor excuse. The food was horrible and lacked any flavor I ended taking my lunch to go because I just couldn't stomach it. Rice was mushy and bland. Nothing special here folks. I went to Jerusalem Cafe yesterday for the first time for a late lunch. They have a very good lunch special until 2pm for $7.59. They serve a generous size portion (in fact it was 2 meals for me). They also have an assortment of sauces on the side in a condiment cart along with pita chips. This cart had a garlic sauce that was made up of egg whites and garlic. This was absolutely delicious. In fact I liked it so much that was the only one I tried. The down size is they give you these tiny little sauce cups that are so small it's hard to put the sauces into it. For sanitation issues they don't want you to scoop the condiments directly onto your plate. The service was very good. I ended talking to the cashier Fariba. She surprised me when she told me she was going to medical school to become an acupuncturist and herbalist. Overall I liked this restaurant as the food was very good with large portions. It was my first time here and as of me being in the middle east for 3 yeats i have tried so much good exotic food my experience here was just ok i had lamb entree and i think it was just ok the rice for sure is american rice im expecting basmati rice since i know its middle eastern restaurant the hummus is not real hummus. It was made with egg or something coz it has a lil smell eggy in it. Im expecting the hummus is made out from pure chickpeas. It was an ok restaurant and i would say that my meat was a bit dry. The entree dishes for my wife and I were bland, dry and short on fillings. We had to liberally make use of our own bottle of tahini sauce to provide any sort of experience for ourselves while dining. Jerusalem Cafe is a cafe with great service and decent enough food. I'll be honest, I didn't love it as much as everyone else does but it was A-OK. I had the chicken schwarma dinner entree which was huge! I also had the grape leaves appetizer. Both were good, the meat was a bit dry, I also found the grape leaves not to have quite enough flavor, but it was all just fine & dandy. I wish I could say more on the meal but nothing amazing stood out to me. Sadly, I don't think I will be going back as there are simply too many other delicious places in the area. read more

I'm astonished that I haven't already reviewed this place; it's my local go-to for Middle Eastern food and there are plenty of good places. I'm a vegetarian and I love their falafel and their vegetarian platter. They also have various delicious mixed juices (orange and banana? raspberry? yes please!) and delicious baklava (my husband doesn't like baklava and he likes it - flaky, not too sweet). You have to ask for (undersized) cups for the sauces; some come with your order but this includes pickled turnips (nice) and a delicious egg white/garlic concoction that is just delightful. Sometimes Yelp scores a place high and I'm left wondering if it's really as good as it seems. This place was. I ordered the combo platter and everything from the rice to the steak to the sauces you can grab yourself were all delicious. The most memorable thing about this place was the freshness of everything I was eating. The vegetables were crisp, the steak juicy and tender and they even heated up the pita bread. It was delicious and very good size portions. Lots of meat and plenty of flavor. A complete bargain at $10.59. I like their food a lot. I usually get lamb or beef gyros. The staff and the customers speak in their dialects so I feel like it's the right place to get close to authentic taste to food.
