Amazing food with great portions. I had the combo platter and a tabouli salad that were both delicious. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. read more

I just wish I took photos but no biggie because I will be back. For 40 dollars we got two huge plates, an appetizer and drinks. These plates consisted of beef and steak also! You simply do not go out to eat for that price anymore. Prices good, cute little cafe, food taste, quality, portion is PHENOMENAL. Never in my life have I had a more tender meat than the shish kabob. Everybody on staff is so friendly and accommodating. They get so busy!!! So many people in and out and I see why. Eisaa thank you so much!! You are a beautiful person with a wonderful business. Shawarma and middle eastern cuisine is my absolute favorite and I could attest this is one of the best places I have ever been. So good on every level. read more

I was staying at a hotel and ordered based on the reviews. I was not disappointed! Having never really had any experience with this type of food before I have to say that I was impressed! Jerusalem Cafe - Middle Eastern Near Me - Lombard, Illinois

came on a friday afternoon--not busy at all and food came out fast. we got three lunch specials--assortment of meats, salad, pita bread, and rice. was very impressed with the portion size for the price of $7.99 (though most of the plate is rice vs actual meat) i would have given four stars but i did not realize you have to pay extra for sauce and the meat (and falafel) was pretty dry, especially without any hummus or tzatziki. i would maybe come back and try their sandwiches or just pay the extra for sauce since i think it would make a noticeable difference. read more

Really casual spot.Food came out quickly. The meats are perfect. The platter comes with meat, pita, veggies, a good amount of rice, and hummus. Really good portion size- next time I might split one entree. Service was good. Ambiance was really casual. I wish they didn't charge for their hot sauces either that or added more spice to the meat. read more

I've been going there for more than 20 years and the food is always authentic and delicious. It always feels like home to me

Food is always good and reasonably priced. I've eaten here for years and never been disappointed

For a great Middle Eastern dinner, Jerusalem Cafe is the spot. The menu is is large and in charge and doesn't hurt the wallet. I have been coming here for since they opened the Lombard spot and love it. It is a family owned business, and they are beyond friendly. They go out of their way to make sure you have what you need and them some. Their portions are large and the flavors of their meats are fantastic. The chicken kabob platter has wonderful flavors and aromas as soon as it hits your senses. Served over a bed of rice and sautéed vegetables, paired with some shatta (hot sauce) and tahina, you're going to be full and happy. The shish kabob plate is my favorite. You get large pieces of steak kabobs and they melt in your mouth. I love their Jerusalem Salad (Arabic Salad with Tahini) and Tabbouleh. The most important item you have to get here is the falafel. Homemade fresh, they are one of my favorite items to get here. Order it in a sandwich or as a side to your platter dinner, they are worth it. read more

Great lunch option giving you a sample of all their meats. Everything is tasty. Will go back again for their Mediterranean cuisine.

Where to begin? I have wanted to try this place since moving up here. After seeing the reviews, I thought this place was going to be a huge hit, but it was just a big disappointment. We ordered the combination feast, gyro plate, 4 falafels, and a small hummus. The gyro plate with fries was terrible. First off, there was barely any meat and the meat that was on top of the soggy fries was burnt. See the picture in this post. I understand not many people probably order this, but remove it from the menu if you're going to serve this quality of food. The tzatziki sauce was basically plain sour cream. Don't order the gyro plate. The falafels were just okay. I have had way better elsewhere. The combination plate was just okay too. Nothing to brag about. Again, small, chintzy portions of meat. Also, it didn't come with any garlic sauce. Most places give you one or two, but this place just likes to nickle and dime their customers. The hummus was no different than any that you can buy at your local grocery store. I am really regretting spending $38 on this food. I don't see what the hype is with this place. For us, we wouldn't recommend and we will not be returning. Response to "business manager"- learn some proper etiquette when replying to honest reviews. I clearly did not state "cripsy" and there is big difference between burnt and crispy. An order came in after mine and it was a combo feast and chicken schwarma, so nice try. You clearly need to work on your communication skills and can't handle feedback. read more

Excellent food! Reasonably priced. Great service! I strongly recommend this great establishment.

Best place, eveything tastes so fresh and authentic definitely my go to for sure! Never disappoints!

I've only tried a few things but everything has been great. It's a joint but the manager is very friendly.

Quality food with good flavor. The combo feast was really flavorful and the veggies complimented the meats and rice well.

My wife and I love it here we were going to the one in Oak park cause we lived in Elmwood park , now we moved to St Charles and go to the Lombard location and it's worth the Drive , keep up the great work . read more

Super yummy! Very authentic. The service was great! My son asked for some recommendations for somebody who never eaten there before and the wonderful owner gave us some suggestions, my son ordered all three lol and ate every single one of them. Not sure how he did it because the serving size is very generous if I'm ever in Chicago again, I'm going back! read more

Everything was fresh and delicious. We got chicken shwarma, fattoush, grape leaves, falafel and hummus, garlic sauce and hot sauce. We will definitely get it again. read more

The food was fresh but I have never had shawarma this terrible. Tastes like it was drenched in vinegar. Seriously terrible. The hummus is very plain, no flavor. Would not recommend. The plus side is the food was fresh it just tastes terrible. read more

The food was very good; I recommend the falafel, kubba, hummus, and tabbouleh for appetizers and for dinner get something from the grill. The service was very good and helpful if you're unfamiliar. Very welcoming and the restaurant is clean. read more

One of the very best finds in Chicagoland. Imagine a small, all-American roadside diner turned into a casual Palestinian restaurant serving extremely good fatoush, shwarma, hummos, etc. When you just want good food at a good price, come here and enjoy. read more

This place is one of my favorite. The food is very good, healthy, tastes authentic, fresh, lots of options and variety, and inexpensive. I would recommend this place. read more

Been to Jerusalem Cafe a couple of times over the years and it's never disappointed! We usually order the combination feast and chicken shawarma platter and have plenty for leftovers, they are very generous with sizes. Food is very fresh and I really like their grilled vegetables on the side! Service is great, everyone we've encountered is nice. The restaurant is self service (grab your own drink and utensils), but they bring your food to your table. read more

I ordered from the Jerusalem Cafe through Uber Eats and had a disappointing experience. From the Uber menu I ordered the Vegetarian Falafel Plate, and while there is not any further description beyond the picture, the picture shows 3 falafel, 2-3 grape leaves, tabbouleh, babaganosh, and humuus. When I received my order it was 6 falafel on a bed of rice with a tiny bit of salad in the middle (not tabbouleh). When I called the manager to express my disappointment he made it sound like it was Uber's fault for not putting a description (no explanation for why the picture that went with the item I ordered had nothing to do with what I received). It seems like a restaurant whould be aware of their Uber menu and honor it --- and correct it if it's not what they plan to offer. read more

Very good Mediterranean joint in the suburbs. It's across from the Mariano's on Roosevelt in what I think is still technically Lombard. It's a no frills place, but I'm not really worried about ambiance if the food is great and the prices are reasonable. Jerusalem Cafe ticks both of these boxes. I ordered the chicken kabob tender plate to share with a friend because we were there for lunch. Im glad we shared, because this was a large portion and I know I wouldn't have been able to eat it alone. I wouldn't mind ordering for dinner sometime because if there were leftovers it would make a great lunch the next day. The meal came with two slices of pita bread (one pita sliced in two), rice pilaf, and some vegetables. The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned lightly but so good. There's also a little cart near the register where you can grab some sauces to go along with it. My favorite was he green jalapeño sauce; it made a great meal even better when some spice was added. (The item we ordered was not very spicy at all, which isn't a bad thing, but it was nice we could spice it up.) Service was very good. The young boy (13 maybe? Idk, I can't tell ages) who helped me is undoubtedly helping at the family business and will be running the place for sure if he ever wants to--he took my order, brought out our food, helped me with the spice cart, and was cleaning up as we left. He thanked us for coming as we were leaving, too. I don't make it out to this area terribly often, but if I'm out here for a movie or something will definitely keep this place in mind as a stop for dinner. And I'll be sure to recommend it to my colleagues who live in Lombard and Glen Ellyn! read more

My go-to spot for fresh and fast Mediterranean cuisine, never disappoints. Staff are always very friendly and efficient. I love how one even remembers my order by heart! Best falafel around, hands down!! Love the croquette shapes in which they're made. My favorite is the combination feast, which consists of chicken shawarma, shish and kefta kebab, grilled mixed vegetables and a falafel atop a bed of yellow rice pilaf. The quality of the meats are always top notch. I always order extra falafel on the side, as I just cannot get enough of them! The red/green and garlic sauces are the bomb and are most definitely worth the small upcharge. Baklava is fantastic as well. read more

Jerusalem Cafe - Combination Feast -- Outstanding every time!! - Middle Eastern Near Me - Lombard, Illinois

One of the heartbreaks of moving away from Oak Park was not having the Jerusalem Cafe nearby. My three kids ( one vegetarian, one vegan, one gluten-free) love this place and so do I. Imagine my delight to learn there was a Jerusalem Cafe in Lombard that delivers to my new house. My experience with Middle Eastern food is that it is hit or miss. At Jerusalem Cafe, everything is good. We always get falafel-avocado sandwiches ( extra avocado) and several salads -- Jerusalem salad, fatoush. The stuffed grape leaves are top-notch, too. I order from Jerusalem Cafe when guests come to visit. Delivery is prompt and I can rely on the food being very good. read more

Food was very disappointing, ordered the combo, chicken was thin strips with no seasoning and didn't taste grilled, no flavor, falafel was cold and treated old, nof crispy or fluffy. The rice was minute rice, not authentic at all. Hummus, tasted like it was made without tahini and maybe came from a can. There were some cold unseasoned mixed vegetables that looked/tasted like they were the frozen kind out of a sack. I threw everything away except the shish kabob, which was okay but also thin strips, not typical square cubes. Staff was not friendly at all. read more

Decent food but in desperate need of a deep clean and renovation. Would not go back.

One of my favorite spots for lunch. The lunch combo is very good,, and very well packaged for carry-out.

Decided to try this one out. Have driven past a million times -used grub hub on a day we didn't want to go get food to bring home. Food was delivered on time and even a little earlier than planned. I love my loyalty points from another middle eastern restaurant and am in love with their fluffy pitas but they were under remodel. We all enjoyed the falafels, just a little different from the other places. I couldn't put my finger on the spice but know I will easily order another falafel sandwich if I am in that area and am hungry. The dressings and roasted veggies on my option were also a little different than I've had before in a good way. The pitas were standard pitas, humas was okay. The stuffed grape leaves were moist and delish. My family really liked the beef and chicken Shawarma and their rice. My husband put tahini on it and sprinkled some of the lentil soup on it but wished I would have gotten the tzatziki. read more

Authentic, vibrant colored and bursting flavors are found here at Jerusalem Cafe! It's a small set up but they are big on their flavors! Pita Inn has similar stuff but their stuff can feel commercial and bland, but not Jerusalem Cafe. You know great food when each ingredient is made with love. From the rice to pita to hummus, meats and sauces, they are all fresh and delicious. I ordered the lamb rice plate and the lamb was absolutely succulent, with wonderful aromatic spices taste. read more

This is definitely more of a cafe than a restaurant but the food isn't any less tasty for it. You order at the counter and can eat at one of the open booths or take your food to go. I ordered the mixed meat plate and an order of their dolmades and especially liked the chicken and their falafel! I don't usually order falafel on my own but I'd have to say their falafel is probably one of the best I've ever had. Service was efficient and kind. They also do catering and I was thinking the whole time that ordering a half tray of their meats for meal prepping would be cost efficient and easy too for a weeks worth of meals! read more

It's a small venue with bright red exterior on Lake Street that is quite inconspicuous. However it is an amazing amazing restaurant that's not big on looks but HUGE in flavors. They have reasonable prices, especially the lunch specials for $6.99 during weekdays. The meats, rice and pita here are fabulous. The meats are full of flavors, very authentic and succulent meats. The pita bread is fresh and soft, not commercial ones. Somedays they have fried pitas on the side and the fried pitas are wonderful starters or as fries substitutes. read more

Was pleasantly surprised with the flavor and quality of the food here. Everything was fresh and well prepared.

Food was stale and the staff was unkind. The owner yelled at me for telling them my coffee was too sweet.
