Before the prices went up, it was fine. The place is clean, the equipment is funtioning, and if something broke it gets fixed quickly. But they currently charge way too much for what they have to offer. They try to upsell you with specialized workouts, etc., from the trainers, but the trainers often don't follow through. There also aren't as many classes as previously offered, and sometimes the instructor doesn't even show. Be careful with the trainers. I had one tell me he knows more than a respected orthopedic surgeon in the area who has more than 35 years of experience. I am about ready to end my membership as they are so many people (men mostly) that do not rerack their weights. Like men who leave at least 4 45 plates on the leg press or the hack squat and multiple plates on the smith machine, etc., and then just walk away when done and leave them all on there. This business does not do enough to prevent people from doing this. As a woman, it is very frustrating to have to re-rack all those weights because of some jerk. This gym is terrible. Don't waste your time going and certainly don't sign up for and pay for a 30 day trial period. When utterly disappointed in this gym, it's lack of cleanliness and small selection of machines, my decision to cancel was met with a cancellation fee twice the monthly cost. This lousy gym should be ashamed of itself. I will be informing my credit card company to decline the charge. I gave it one star only because I cannot warn others without hitting a star. UPDATE: I'm writing 7 months after my initial review. I would give - stars if I could! The gym facility is still nice but everything else SUCKS!!! When I joined, I was told that I can cancel within 15 days of my billing date. I even asked about cancelation fees and was told there are none by the sales associate. I was also told that I can call up and they would cancel my membership. WHAT A LIE! My billing date is the 1st of every month and I called on the 15th, so it was the last day. When I tried to call and cancel, I was told that I need to go online to myiclubonline website and do it there. Still no mention of cancelation fees. When I went to the website it says $100.00 fee to cancel. I was truly upset and wrote to the customer service email address. Of course, they said that I had to pay and that it was in the contract. The contract, which is not emailed to the new member (only the agreement is, which doesn't mention the fee). The contract is on the website, which unless you are told about it, would never know. I'm so disappointed and sad that they take advantage of trusting people by not providing proper information. Finally after a few emails back over a couple of days, and me being very angry, I wrote and said to take the $100.00 and cancel. The CS associate says I need to go online and do it. So I go online and now I have to pay for the next month + cancelation fees. What a crock!!! Horrible, horrible company. I signed up to this gym for use of the facility and personal trainer. I was told I was signing a contract for a month to month basis with the option to cancel at any time. If I canceled before a year was up I would have to pay a $100.00 cancelation fee. Under the contract you had to use their trainers. This makes sense given insurance and staff/trainer employment. So I singed up with membership that included access to the gym and a personal trainer. After a few months a family emergency happened and I had to move out of state. As a result, I needed to cancel my membership which included my personal trainer. I went to the gym and let them know I needed to cancel my membership and personal trainer. They told me to go on line and canceled my membership on their website. According to the cancelation policy in the contract, it was sufficient for me already to come to the gym in person and tell them of my cancelation. Going on line was not necessary, but since they told me to do so I did what I was asked. After logging into my account and searching where I had to find the form to cancel, I found the form to be a little confusing. I called the number that was associated with the form in order to get clarity and had a very lengthy conversation. Instead of answering my question, they kept trying to have me freeze my account which is an option I did not want. I told them many times I was moving out of state and would be more than 100 miles away from New Jersey. This is far more than the 25 miles cut off listed in the contract. I was finally able to complete the form and canceled my membership. Unfortunately though, the story didn't end there. I found out after the fact that the cancelation was only for the gym and not the personal training. I was told I had to go back to the gym and have them cancel the personal training. Since I had already gone to the gym in the first place to cancel everything - gym & trainer, being asked to go again was bizarre and frustrating. This was also odd in that while the particular website cancelation procedure was listed in the contract terms, what I was doing by showing up in person at the gym and tell them was also fine under the contract terms and clearly listed. So once again I went back to the gym and told them I needed to cancel everything including the personal training. The staff at the gym then told me that I had only canceled the membership and not the personal trainer. Separate actions didn't make sense as everyone, staff and trainers, work for the same firm. So why two separate cancelations? Very odd too as that by canceling the membership - how could I even see a trainer if I could not come into the gym? Meanwhile they still continued to charge me for the trainer. I asked for clarity from the staff on how to proceed. Unfortunately nobody was able to get this sorted. Responses showed a lack of training/understanding of the procedures and the contract. There were statements too of "I don't know", "above my pay grade", and "it's up to corporate, my hands are tied". In a more thorough reading of the contract too, many terms were not fully defined, which added to the confusion all around. Ultimately, I had to get my credit company involved to suspend/fight further charges. Legal action through arbitration was considered as well per the credit card company. It's a pity to have to go through so much unnecessary grief and emotion over what should have been nothing more than a simple cancelation under contract terms. It appears other reviewers have had similar experiences. Until this organization improves it's training, and treats the end of a customer relationship with the same level of customer centricity that it gives to new relationships, I cannot recommend this firm. I would urge potential new customers to seek an alternative center for your physical fitness needs. read more

I left feeling belittled, judged, and insulted by staff. not worth it....... I went for a tour of this gym at 3:00 pm on 3/11/2023. the sole purpose of my visit was to check out the gym since i was in the area and to inquire of the prices. the gym is spacious and has a lot of equipment. i was looking forward to trying the gym out with the 21 day trial pass which is FALSELY ADVERTISED. once i went in, staff said i could only do a 3 day trial because i did a walk in instead of applying online for a 2 week trial. i was greeted by geraldo at the front desk and he was friendly at first. i state my reason for being there. im looking to switching gyms and want a tour of this one. everything was fine until he brought me to the office. there was a random $17.50 processing fee on the second month of having the membership and the enrollment fees were a little too high for my liking, however the gym wasnt off the table for me. i must say, geraldo has THE WORST SALES TACTIC AND CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. i am not the type of person to write reviews but this needs to be said. i remained calm the whole time but i was LIVID. i attempted to leave when geraldo asks "whats more important? the thai food youre about to pick up or your goals?" after i told him i was in the area to pick up food. there was a paper with the gym pricing info on it and he pulls it towards him and says "maybe youre not ready to commit to your goals" WHO IS THIS DUDE TO BE MAKING COMMENTS LIKE THIS IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. i mention that im a nursing student and that I work out 3x a week. he mentions THREE TIMES THAT THIS GYM MAY BE NOT THE RIGHT FIT FOR ME. WHO SAYS THAT TO SOMEONE? whether you work out 3x a week or 6x... it doesnt matter. you are a paying customer anyway. such a horrible experience that i will share with everyone. the attitude from staff is very TOXIC AND NOT FOR EVERYONE especially since he mentioned that the gym is for "everyone" clearly, that's a lie. he said that there are nurses that go to the gym after a 48 hour shift. HIS WORDS. overall, he was rude and was very passive aggressive until he was just aggressive. -100000/10 rating for him. do better jersey strong.... to management: i noticed for every bad review, you respond "submit a ticket" and post a link. There is a reason this gym is ranked 1 star despite having an overall nice gym. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. They will continue to charge u even if u try to pause your account and make everything overall difficult in an attempt to continue to charge you. Then when sending your account to collections no one is there to help you or explain to you why the bill is at the piece it is. DO NOT USE THIS GYM. I asked both the collections agency and the gym why am I charged the amount of charges despite trying to pause and not going to this gym for months. Both parties essentially told me it's completely my fault and didn't even attempt to try and give me an explanation and talked to me with a crazy amount of attitude and just said Pay up. Absolutely pathetic straight trying to rob people's money. Your better off at any other gym thst let's you pause your account with 0 issues. Customer service is terrible and they will try to steal money from you anyway they can read more
