This is a tough review to write, because the crew (Nick & Elario) were outstanding; they were professional, friendly, and their work was excellent. They exceeded my expectations -- outstanding work! This would be a 5-star review, EXCEPT -- the communication from the company is terrible. They don't answer the phones, they don't answer emails, they don't return phone calls or reply to emails. They are extremely frustrating to deal with. Interestingly, if you call in the evening when the local office is closed, Groundworks Canada answers the call, and actually does their best to help. But the South Plainfield office, fuggedaboudit. But let me end by saying, the work they do lifting concrete is outstanding. Too bad they have such a dysfunctional administrative office.

Jim and the crew from Blue Umbrella Waterproofing did an amazing job of installing a French drain in that problem room. From set up to install and to cleanup all went perfectly. Jim stayed in contact throughout the whole project. He made a frustrating time a breeze. He and his team answered all my questions and addressed any concerns I had. Im glad I decided to go with Blue Umbrella!! Thank you to Jim and your team! Update: 9/18/26 Originally I didn't have the funds to go with a battery backup sump pump system (system was reasonably priced. I was just strapped for cash) nor did I think we were going to get this much water near the house...well with this crazy weather we had with so much water, the pump did its job but I was also concerned with a power outage. I got the money together and worked with Steve and Jim to scheduled the install of a battery backup pump system. Well thanks to Steve,Jim and the crew, Willson came out and installed the unit. Now I have Days of protection if the power goes out. Thank you Blue Umbrella Waterproofing for working with me to get this done. Steve,Jim,Jose,Willson and the crew thank you so much for the work you did and putting me at ease knowing my basement is going to stay dry no matter how much rain we get. The system is a beast on keeping water out!! For anybody that needs a basement sump pump system go with the battery backup system. It only takes 30mins of a power outage to start flooding your basement if you don't have a battery backup pump system with all this crazy weather. It will give you protection and peace of mind to have one installed! Once again...Thank you Blue Umbrella Waterproofing for protecting my basement!

Jose, foreman, did a great job! He was responsible and the crew were timely. Jose even helped me reinstall the dehumidifier to the new sump pump area. They took away all the garbage too! The crew had two large trucks and seemed to have everything down to a science. One truck replaces the other once all the dirt from the basement gets loaded. My job was finished in two days because I needed additional work but this was explained to me and I had agreed to the extra service and charge. Knowing in advance is a good thing! Steve, the owner, came out to meet the me on day one. It was nice of him to come out and meet his client. After having a conversation earlier in the week, I can say Steve is very feisty and passionate about his company. During the early stages, Marvin made sure to show me an additional footer ledge was needed and I wasn't charge for something made up. Everything overt! No surprises or hidden wallet breakers! At the end of the job, a customer appreciation care box came to my attention! This review will keep Blue Umbrella's five star record on track! Great to help local businesses! Everyone should have a Blue Umbrella to protect from nasty water leaks!
