We became fans of this chain in Florida and were happy to see one fairly near us in Ohio. We always get their cheesesteak, and someday need to try some others. Anyway, we ordered a giant by mistake, which is way too big for the two of us for lunch. After waiting while it was freshly cooked, we were a bit disappointed in a few things. The bread wasn't nearly as fresh as we have experienced at other locations. We also didn't feel the sandwich was filled with as much meat as others. The taste was good and we love their melted cheese, but we had a lot of empty bread at the end of our sandwich. The restaurant was clean, and very busy at lunch time. I went in to pick up my food but they had not even begun on the order yet. Now I would not mind this if they were super super busy and had a rush of people to where they couldn't get to the order right away. I met my parents here for dinner. The restaurant was not very busy but they had a lot of pickup orders. We decided to dine in here. I like coming here because they are always good. I ordered the rosemary bread (this is one that they don't really advertise as much so if you don't know you probably won't) my boyfriend actually told me about the bread (only bread I get now) he's crazy eating a giant sub and then passes out from a food coma. Anyways enough about him, I got the turkey provolone with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onion, and mayo. They offer Mike's way but I like it my way. I like how you can pick and choose what you want. I really like how they are not skimpy on the condiments like other sub shops. That always make me upset when you ask for a pickles and they try to give one instead of a handful! As this was my first visit here, it unfortunately started off with abrasive and lackluster service upon my visit in the afternoon on 6-1-17. No one was friendly, explanatory, or even very communicative. I ordered my item and stood by the toppings to customize my order (as I had watched another customer ahead of me do). To my surprise, they finished my order before I was able to communicate what toppings I wanted. When I apologized and told the lady I wanted to add some things to my item, she rudely told me something along the lines of "The first thing you should do is tell us what you want in your sub." her delivery was not only embarrassing, but it made me feel genuinely bad. The second and last straw was when I asked if I'm able to split the cost on behalf of me using two methods of payment. I was told that they couldn't unless I wanted to pay extra, in essence. I have worked at restaurants in the past and used a variety of different POS systems, all of which had a method of separating payment. Perhaps this business does not split payment; however, I can't help but suspect I was just being given a hard time. So...we are really seeing firsthand the effects of the pandemic on our local restaurants. I have been hearing how some restaurants have been forced to close more days than they would like due to employee shortages BUT somehow I never thought that would trickle down to fast food type places HOWEVER last night we made a special trip out of our way to go here because I really like the subs. My husband has not tried this place yet but he was looking forward to it. So we get all the way there...he walks up and 20 seconds later he's back in the car telling me the place is closed due to a lack of staff. I was in shock. It would be like pulling up to McDonald's and having it be closed-it just wouldn't happen. You just somehow never see these fast food places having shortages especially with this particular location because every time I've gone in they've always had what seems like 10 employees working behind the counter so either everybody quit at once or everybody called off sick yesterday but we were not able to get our food due to the restaurant being closed...and it was only 5:30! I can't say that I blame employees for not wanting to be in the service field any longer because we've been shown that those jobs are not secure. Also most of these people get treated terribly and the pay is terrible AND you rarely get a set schedule and if you do it's usually nights and weekends which nobody wants to be working. I don't know how the restaurant industry is going to address all these issues. I see quite a few more places having to close because I don't know where they're going to get all the staff. All that aside I can't say I'd recommend this place even though the food is really good because the service here is not great. The times that I've gone the staff behind the counter doesn't even acknowledge you when you come in or give you any eye contact-they just keep looking straight down doing what they're doing and you don't even know if they're talking to you-so you just kind of say what you want and then hope that somebody's paying attention. This place must not be managed very well because the staff leaves a lot to be desired. I realize due to staffing shortages that people are just hiring whomever but they've got to understand that they're going to run into issues with that if they see red flags with employees that they're hiring. I'd personally rather do it all myself with shorter business hours then have to wonder every day it my staff is going to show up. These managers have to know that they are facing issues like this so customers shouldn't be driving all the way there only to see a sign telling them the place is closed due to no staff. I wonder what happened to people who placed online orders? I don't know if this is an individually owned location or if this is all just employees hired by headquarters in another state but if managers are telling these people that they don't have staff then the people at headquarters are going to have to send staff there to make sure the restaurant doesn't have to close because you cannot run a business like that day-to-day where customers never know if you're going to be open. Also if restaurant employers want to retain employees they are going to have to start treating them better. They are gonna have to raise salaries and they're going to have to be more flexible with scheduling otherwise the stores will just have to close. read more

I really like Jersey Mike's, I've never had a bad sub from there and getting your sub "Mike's Way" is always a good choice. All of their ingredients taste fresh and I definitely think it's a better chain than subway or Penn Station. I find their service to be very fast and friendly most of the time, however not all of their workers communicate much while ordering, or I've had a few mumble. Worst staff on the planet. An F for effort and attitude. I went in 20 minutes before they were supposed to close because I was staying at the Hilton down the road and had just arrived. I could immediately tell they were angry by the dirty looks and hand gestures they made as I walked up. I apologized twice to them for coming in so close to closing and every team member ignored me. It was by far the most awkward fast food experience I've ever had. This is the second time I visited this location and was dissatisfied and disappointed in the service. It seems like there is lack of supervision at this location. The first time I was there, an employee bad mouthed a customer in front of customers who were waiting for orders. This caused a scene that I felt was best kept for a discussion between employees for after customers left the location. So one of my co-workers took me here on Friday and I tried their Italian sandwich and I must say it was excellent. The bread was awesome, the meat was fresh and the lettuce and tomatoes (nice, red and fully ripe) were extremely crisp. The staff was very friendly and laid back and they even knew my co-worker by name. I looked around and the place was spotless. Unlike other sandwich shops, this place even cuts their meat fresh. Best of all, these people are not cheap on their portion. Some places give you one slice of cheese and cut it into 4 slices to make it look like more, and do the same with the meat, luckily not here. As of right now I will give this place a solid five stars. Great service, great sandwich, clean store, good location. No issues. I'll update my review if I stop here again. read more

I'm a fan of this franchise but tonight's high school crew was a bust. The $13 dollar pastrami sandwich was skimpy at best and I ended up throwing half the bread away and putting all the filling on one sandwich side. The wraps were tiny too. Flavor wasn't bad but we aren't talking fine dining ie. The meat wasn't spoiled, the bread was fresh etc. Although the meatball sandwich was good, all together a disappointing waste of $34. I placed a catering order for my company. BEFORE I placed it, I called the store to verify if they would deliver. I was told yes, they could deliver our food by the time needed the next day. All that was needed was my information and address in the comments section. I placed the order. The next day when it was delivered, the lady who brought our food was the rudest!! She raised her voice and stated that THEY DON'T DELIVER, especially how the weather is (it snowed earlier in the morning), and because she had people that called off. I'm sorry but, how is that MY problem!?! You do not treat your customer like that, especially whining about having to bring the food that YOUR STAFF stated it was possible on the phone the day before! Our company spent $300! And this is the customer service we get! Will NEVER order from here again! Very BAD 1st impression! The food wasn't even that great! Jimmy Johns tastes way better, and receive friendlier service! UPDATE: I did thankfully receive a response back from the owner of the location regarding this situation, to get it rectified. THAT I do appreciate. He apologized and offered a solution to me.
