The perfect combination of local neighborhood bar mixed with upscale menu and the ultra hip of Avon...I cannot make it up! The bar and patio were packed for a Thursday night, we grabbed the last 2 seats available at the inside bar and were blown away by the service and menu. The bartender was amazing, so nice and full of tidbits offering suggestions and friendly chitchat. My husband and I both ordered pasta dishes, me the shrimp scampi and he ordered the sausage kale cavatelli. I know don't order pasta at a bar, but it was amazing. Fresh ingredients with local Ohio City Pasta , super fresh and flavorful. The bar offered great summer drinks, heavy pours of wine and seasonal beer and not to be outdone Bar Nova offers cardboard crack, otherwise known as instant bingo! SCORE all around. Did I mention they even use fresh wood to make their flatbreads! So find a parking spot, if you can and head to Bar Nova for a fabulous meal, conversation and plenty of summer sips. read more

Stopped in for happy hour and it was a perfect patio day! Our server Ally was awesome! Super personable & efficient! The fresh fried mozzarella amazing as are the flatbread pizzas! The flatbreads are round like a reg pizza and a nice size with a crisp crust. We had the wild mushroom which is my absolute favorite and we also had the house made meatball/ricotta. Both were delicious! The buffalo deviled eggs taste as you'd expect. They were good, but I think I'd rather have buffalo wings over the deviled eggs. This is a great spot, I highly recommend! read more

Food and service is top notch! It's our go to restaurant !!! I do wish they had a few more gluten free options but love that they have a gluten free pizza ! read more

This place has a fun relaxing environment. Hannah was wonderful and she took over a shift after 7-8pm. She was hardworking and super friendly and helpful. I loved her drinks. The pizza had fresh ingredients and had plenty flavors. The salad mix greens was great with their vinaigrettes dressing. Of coarse my date got red vinegarete and I got white. Both dressing were refreshing. read more

After hearing so many good things about this place, I was finally able to go. We got there about an hour after they opened and luckily it wasn't packed. We ordered the jalapeño poppers, hot honey chicken wings and the barbacoa grilled cheese. I loved every single thing. The food is just so dang good that no other bar can top this place. read more

Great cocktails and food. Bar is always lively and fun. Outside area is beautiful in the warm weather with all of the flowers.

We sat at the bar. Their cocktails were exceptional. The food was also great and a wonderful ambiance. I hate to leave a review because when people find it, it will become busy. read more

Great little bar that also offers a good dining experience. The food was very good, 4 stars because the value was not outstanding. Huge portions at some fairly big prices. The service was very friendly and professional. The ambiance was quite nice with an outdoor patio and a dining room separate from the bar. read more

We grabbed some dinner. Great family times. Great food. The ricotta cheesecaake was amazing. Pictures speak for themselves. We also had some spicy wings. Plump and Juicy. Fresh fried mozzarella. Not pictured a spaghetti combo with meatballs and a salad & some french onion soup. Great meal as always. read more

Had a late dinner and drinks at Bar Nova. Loved everything we had. Drinks were great and the staff is amazing.

This place was an absolute surprise. It does not look like much as far as ambiance but the service was fantastic, cocktails were well made, and the food was delicious. We had the pasta with short- rib and fish tacos. Black manhattan contains were really good. read more

Great spot! French onion soup was wonderful. While I didn't have drink, the list was very appealing. I would definitely eat here again.

Food.. eh.. service.. butthole. Severs have bad attitudes every time, not expecting chucky cheese here but at least don't act like you hate me and everyone else serving some eggs read more

Waited an hour for a carry out for 2 items- staff couldn't care less. Restaurant was absolute chaos. Not worth the price or wait. At one point I asked if I could just have a refund and I was told no because it was almost ready..... horrible customer service read more

Let me be honest. We came to go to happy hour at another place that is VERY close. Their bar was full so we came here Our bartender, Kenny, was awesome. His drinks were on point and he let us know about the appetizers! He was friendly and working hard We had a bunch of appetizers. The meatballs are SOO good. Also had the Queso fundido which was the best Queso I have ever had (and I'm a foodie)! I could have eaten it with a spoon!!! GET THIS!! Had the French onion soup - after I was told that it's the absolute best around and that people drive here for it!!!! It was good, but I don't have to have it. Hubs got a five cheese flatbread. It was very good Hubs said Black Manhattan is FANTASTIC I tried several martinis, all were good. My favorite was the Italian 75, but I had it made with vodka instead of Gin read more

Bar Nova - shelves of liquor and a television - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Avon, Ohio

Found this place on Yelp and was really looking forward to trying the Walleye tacos. I must admit they were a bit disappointing. The slaw was delicious but overload the taco in volume and flavor. There was a small fried roll-shaped piece of walleye at the bottom but I honestly couldn't tell you what the walleye itself tasted like. The mushroom flatbread with balsamic glaze was the complete opposite! It was a round flatbread, which was surprising but that could be usual for the area. It was very generously topped with so many delicious mushrooms! The restaurant area couldn't accommodate a party of two so we sat in the bar. It's an attractive space with a large stone fireplace and tables as well as bar seats. The service was friendly, quick and accommodating. There were three large screen TVs with sports on each one and a good size crowd for a Wednesday night, but we had no trouble having a normal volume conversation. Cool place overall despite the disappointing walleye tacos. I highly recommend stoping in for a pint of the Masthead Haunted Hayride Pumpkin Ale! read more

Good food We were in Avon for a date night and a quick search brought up this place. The parking lot is small but plenty of parking behind in the shopping section. They do not take reservations on the weekend so we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The place is small inside with tables pretty close together. The patio area looked nice but too cold on the night we went. It was also rather loud. The food was very good. Tried the farmers market salad, French onion soup and meatball pizza. read more

Went again for date night with husband. Food still delicious, service spot on, and the hot & dirty martini is so good.

A chocolate martini wasn't on the menu, but they accommodated and made me one. Yummy. The salmon was delicious as well.

We went on a Sunday night at 6 and it was a lot busier than expected. We sat in the front room and I was cold, I should have dressed warmer I guess. The food was good and the server did a great job serving everyone in a timely manner. We'll probably go back when the patio is open. read more

Ambiance: Congested and loud inside. There's really no where to wait for a table except to stand in the middle between the entrance, bar, seating area, door to the seating area, and the fireplace; you essentially get into everyone's way (customers, employees). There is not a good process / system in place for those who have to wait -- the hostess takes your name, number of people, and estimated wait time. You cannot reserve seating either, supposedly. I don't want to harp on this too much since it was a cold night and I'm sure things would be different during warm weather (e.g., wait outside, be able to get on the patio). Food / Drink: I got the American Burger and Fries w/ BBQ sauce. The burger was delicious and had great flavor. The fries were delicious as well; very crispy. What I was disappointed by is that the fries are not with the meal, but rather $2 extra. Who wants chips with their burger? I also was disappointed with the Dr Pepper I had -- Not sure why, but the Dr Pepper tasted different; it was not good and didn't taste like the drink really at all. I don't know if it was watered down or what. Service: The service overall were really kind and helpful and it made a difference in the experience had there, despite the loudness and congestion endured. You would think that would annoy the employees, but it doesn't seem that way -- it shows they really care about their customers, and that's a good thing. Overall, I was satisfied with this place. I'd come back again during the warmer seasons if I were to come again. read more

Fun place with great food. Warm and cozy, good service. Love for meeting up with girl friends or date night.

Came in late on a Saturday afternoon. Was immediately seated at a high top table in the bar. Server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered off the special menu, wood fired scallops and Bronzini served with a mixed vegetable spaetzle. Wife got the mac and cheese, boy got the filet. To start, we had the buffalo chicken deviled eggs. The eggs were great! Dinners were good all the way around, though the fish was a bit fishier than I prefer. Scallops were excellent. Everything came out quickly. I would not hesitate to return. read more

My husband, daughter & I ate dinner here yesterday, because we wanted to eat outside somewhere nearby, and had never been here. They have a very cute space with a nice little patio. We should've known something wasn't right though when my husband's water had something floating in it. Our server was very nice, apologetic & replaced the water. We ordered everything at the same time, right after we got our drinks. My wings came out along with my daughter's burger, but my husband waited 5 min for his meal to come. I began to eat 1 chicken wing and it was so rubbery I didn't eat another. I was very hungry but could not eat any more of them. My food didn't arrive until after my daughter & husband were finished eating. Our server came to tell me twice that she's been asking the kitchen for my salad & didn't understand why it was taking so long & apologized. So it was not her fault. My daughter & I waited 20 min for our small salads. Hers was just a basic side salad. I had their arugula salad, which I added plain grilled chicken to. It was nothing special that should've taken extra time. There were very few tables occupied so they weren't super busy. My husband ordered one of their alleged "wood-fired" pizzas; however there's no way this was wood fired. It honestly looked like they shredded some fresh basil over a Chef Boyardee pizza, super thin dough, minimal sauce. Wood fired should have some crispness; this was soft & mushy, nothing special at all. My salad was so bland, I wanted to ask for salt & pepper but the server never came back to ask how the food was and I was starving at that point, so I just ate it. I did have a good amount of dressing - it just wasn't very flavorful. (I do not recommend the lemonade. My husband liked his old fashioned.) Our bill was over $100 (with tip) for a crappy meal. We will absolutely not go back. read more

Came here Saturday night for dinner and it was around a 20 min wait for 4 people. Good crowd but got seated pretty quickly for not having a reservation. They have tvs by the bar but also one tv in their patio! Nova fries were BOMB , there was plenty of pulled pork and cheese and I'm glad the restaurant didn't cheap out on it. Cavatelli was pretty good with ample meat. Can't wait to try more items of off their menu soon! read more

I was really disappointed this evening with how my friend and I were treated by staff at Bar Nova. We were catching up after having drinks and appetizers and paying our bill when a staff member, not our server, asked us to leave because they needed the table. We hadn't even been sitting for longer than 15 minutes finishing our conversation. No question or professional approach to see if we wanted to order a dessert or more drinks if we were going to stay longer, simply a rude "Ladies we need this table so you're going to have to leave." The kicker is that when we walked out and looked over at the patio, there were open tables!!! Apparently, if you want to linger catching up with a friend you haven't seen in a long time after you pay your check, you aren't welcome. Or I advise you drink and eat slowly and take a long time to pay your check at the very end of your conversation if you want to enjoy time with your friend. I think I'll just go somewhere I feel more welcome and appreciated for my business. read more

Food was fantastic! We have been wanting to go here for some time so I'm glad we were finally able to get here. We had the margherita pizza and the pizza blanco - both were really tasty. The place is a bit small so be prepared to wait a bit it well with it! Servers were very friendly and once we were seated, the service was quick! Definitely will be back! read more

The salmon with Asian noodles is one of the best flavors of salmon we have ever had. My wife does not like mushrooms or peppers. The flavors and textures blended so nicely with the dish, she ate them both. The servers were pleasant and prompt and checked on us often. I had the wild mushroom flatbread. It was also very good. Also recommend the arugula and spinach salad.Get there early; reservations for six or more. Recommend sitting inside for temperatures above 84° on sunny early evenings as the sunsets it sneaks in below the umbrellas heating everything on the table. I truly enjoyed the dining experience! read more

Ok I totally recommend this place for drinks. Great list, good cocktails comparative prices- but the food is a rip off. You get very little for your money and it is very overpriced. 2nd time here the old Whistlers that used to have blue moon ice cream. Last time had the deviled eggs that were awesome, Bro had the fried egg burger and liked it. Nice bar now and several hi tops. It's where the action is. Loaded wed night with 30s-40s well dressed types. Sat in the greenhouse last time & loud as hell. But full of beautiful women I just pass that along bc it's important. This time I ordered the flatbread pepperoni & Bro got the French onion soup & wed only special wings. I think they have a wood burner oven but where tho? Let's see how it goes... Wow good pie! Tastes like suds maguires pie. Thin-ish crust. Damn good. Wings I had a few a nice bourbon & Jamaican jerk kinda thing going on. And mostly drumsticks. WINNING. Onion soup was excellent. This is a real happening place & hot crowd. 8 pm wed it's all goin down. 5 stars easy. Well done nova. read more

We called in & ordered pickup. We were told 30-40 minutes. Went to pick it up and an hour and a half later walked out without any food. They were busy but multiple to go orders were picked up in the duration we waited. If you forgot to put the order in- ok- just say so! Then tell the cooks to rush it! Bad way to run a business. When we asked for a refund, they refunded the food but not the $4 tip. It's not like we need the $4 - it's that they didn't do anything to deserve it. But at that point, we let it go and left. Won't be back if they can't manage food orders read more

I miss the old ice-cream and pizza shop it used to be. This place is good but pricy and really underutilizes the fact that that have a wood fired oven PERFECT for pizzas. There's a few flatbreads on the menu still but besides that not sure why they even fire it up.... read more
