So I was in this part of the world for a short weekend with a long drive ahead of me so I ordered a couple of sandwiches for my crew. Full disclosure-I have a long NJ history. A sub is a north Jersey sandwich (in south Jersey they are called hoagies). This is definitely a midwestern sandwich. Let me say, that they gave it a good try. But the meats on the Italian style subs were not flavorful at all lacking any difference between the capicola and boiled ham. The provolone was salty but had no funk. Unlike south Jersey and just like the north, vinegar on the sandwich is standard practice here. The roll was a soft, spongy pillow, not your usual sub roll from the east coast. So if you expect these sandwiches to conjure up memories of boardwalks on the ocean, you will be disappointed because this Jersey Mikes has no Jersey in it. I like jersey mikes but if you get 3 slices of meat on a regular and 5 on a giant something isn't right. Also if you aren't strong enough to put a little weight on the slicer so you don't get those partial sliced pieces, shorting the customer like how you just made my sub. this is supposed to be a tuna sub...I dare you to find tuna...this was the worst experience I have had at the jersey Mike's on alpine. the cutting board was scraped but never wiped down, there was vinegar still on the board from before me. gross....it wasn't because of a lack of people because there were three people behind the counter.... read more

Maria & I both had the turkey sub. Not the positive side it's a better sub then Subway. On the negative side Subway has a better selection of breads(Italian herbs & chess is our favorite) and toppings. But the worst was that the place was filthy! I don't know what is wrong with this Jersey Mike's but this is NOT the first time they messed up my order, but will be my last! I'm allergic to cheese told them no cheese took it off on the list in the mobile app and then also with the special instructions I said no cheese they put it on anyway I couldn't eat my sandwich also they gave me cheese bread when I ordered white! New sub shop near our home. They seem to have opened a few locations here in town over the past few months. We had been meaning to try to get in there and just had not found time. Then we got some coupons in the mail and re-doubled our efforts. I ordered a Classic Italian Sub, Mike's Way which means they add onions, lettuce and tomatoes to the standard toppings. Shane ordered a Supreme Club Mike's Way and then we also ordered a Grilled Pastromi Reuben. The Reuben was disappointing as they seemed to skimp on the sauerkraut and the dressing which is billed as 1000 Island tasted like some poor substitute for real 1000 Island dressing. Additionally, the choice of bread for this sandwich are white and wheat. A traditional Reuben is made on a rye bread of sorts. The Italian Sub was okay, but wasn't terribly memorable except for (here's where the review will get thumbs up for laughs) frequent bathroom visits about 30 minutes after only eating half. The time is now 1:23 am and I've been visiting pretty regular every 60 minutes since around 6:30 pm. So if I say the Italian is crap, it is literally and figuratively. Finally the Supreme Club. The only sandwich that really didn't give us anything negative to say beyond this is no different than any other sub shop that sells a club sub. At least it didn't make anyone sick. So, the sub shop was neat and clean, a plus. The staff was very friendly an made me feel very welcome in the store. They were knowledgeable about the sandwiches and were able to answer all my questions before hand. There are HOT subs and COLD subs. The one thing the menu does not tell you is that they can make any sub on the menu as a hot sub. I am guessing this also means the tuna sub. Now, what I see as a big negative. You are paying premium prices for these subs. Their medium subs are almost 8.50 and the full sub is almost 13.00. They slice all the meats for the subs when you order it, which is nice, but they have this clever trick of not folding the meat flat on the sandwich, it's waved when they sit it down on the bread so it looks like you are getting more when in fact you are getting less. Over all, food was okay, not great. Restaurant was very clean. Way over priced compared to Subway and Quizno's. Shane and I both thought if they were here a year from now, we would both be surprised. UPDATE: 2/9/2018 - It has been a year. The shop I visited a year ago is still here. Two nearby Subway stores have closed. Also a Jimmy John's has opened nearby. I had the meatball sub and the super sub with provolone, ham, prosciuttini and capacuolo with tomato, onion, lettuce and pickles and mayo. I thought the sub was pretty good. The bread is dense and chewy, much more substanative than Subway or Jimmy John's. The bottom is crusted with cornmeal which I thought was a nice touch. I thought the sizing was a little weird, the giant sub seems like more than double the size of the regular. The regular seems more like a six inch, cut in half. The website says that a mini sub feeds one, a regular sub feeds 1-2 and a giant sub feeds 4. I think it's more like a regular sub is 1 serving and a giant sub is at least 2-3 servings. I thought the regular sub was as filling as a six inch from Subway with less meat and a heartier bread. You can also get any sub in a tub which is as a salad. You can order online through their website which is a huge plus for me. I will probably return but not that often as their subs are a little pricey for what you get and to me just OK. My whole experience overall was probably a three but my boyfriend LOVED his sub and I do think it's a decent place, just not my favorite. I also thought the meat was just on the side of being stingy. I absolutely love Jersey Mike's. I used to eat at this chain frequently when I lived in the Chicago area. I didn't realize there was one in the GR area until recently. My sub was just as delicious as I remember them being back in Illinois. Having your sub Mike's Way is a must - lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, vinegar, and spices. I like to add pickles as well. All meats and cheeses are sliced right in front of you. Everything is fresh and I've found all their locations to be clean. My service today was very friendly and professional despite previous reviews. Jersey Mike's blows Subway and Jimmy John's out of the water. I almost made this a four star review because of the prices. Yes, these subs are some of the best I've ever had, but they are pricey for the amount of food that you get. But that's not this location's fault, that's just the company so that's why I'm giving this location 5 stars instead of 4. Still worth checking out, even with the prices! I've gotten coupons in the mail many times and if you sign up for their emails, you'll get even more great offers. read more

So I actually eat here frequently because I work close, I love the food but the employees here are something else. There are a few girls that are just straight up rude. Another guy weirds me the hell out and is very unprofessional, says inappropriate things, one time I walked in and he was rolling on the floor, no joke! I get that they just make subs, but come on. Honestly, it makes me not want to go there anymore because I just want to avoid interaction with some of the employees, because they make me feel uncomfortable. Please hire a better staff! read more

One of my favorite places to go for lunch! I love the original Italian on wheat, I get it mikes way and you don't even miss having mayo on a sandwich! They cut all of their meats and cheeses fresh right in front of you. Also the regular size sub and chips fill you up nicely so it makes for the perfect lunch meal.
