Went today for a cheese steak sub. Great attentive staff whom were very kind and welcoming. I ordered my cheese steak before with them and I have to say it was less dry and the meat was more chopped up which I liked more but I guess it depends on the cook. Worst online ordering experience. Placed an order at 12:57p, didn't leave the shop with our food in hand until 1:35p. I asked if they had an order for us, and gave them our name. I stood waiting 25 mins while they helped at least 7 ppl in line, only to go back and ask again, and that's when the cashier handed me a bag that had been sitting on their counter for who knows how long. Making it worse, they had a table for online order pick up, but they weren't putting the completed orders out. Worst Sandwiches, Unsanitary Conditions and Horrible Customer Service Today! Today around 11:30 I stopped at this Jersey Mike's location for lunch for my husband, daughter and I. Upon entry I should have walked out but gave them a chance I now thoroughly regret. It was loud not sure from what exactly so the staff was literally YELLING at every guest through the plexiglass! I waited in a line of 4 people (me being the 3rd) for a good 5 minutes to order and another 10 for my sandwiches to be made while I stood there. Apparently door-dash orders are more important that in person customers. Not only that, but they set all the sliced bread and the sides with meat/cheese directly on a dirty counter while you wait to have them finished. The slicer was so nasty dirty too so I hope I don't get sick as I just got over food poisoning from last week! There was a really rude lady working the line and I asked to change my sandwich to a different number that the only difference would be adding bacon. She said it was no problem but then didn't and instead charged me extra for bacon when it would have cost less for the other sandwich! Did I mention when I got home and we went to eat the bread was hard and dry and the meats were dry and chewy?! I've had good sandwiches there before but another location and I loved the rosemary bread but not today! I been to both locations in Simi Valley, as well as others in Ventura & LA Counties, and have never been disappointed. They have a nice selection of sandwiches and breads, are reasonably quick, even during meal hours when they are usually quite busy, and usually have some kind of sports on their TV's while you wait in line or dine in. I like all my cold sandwiches done Mike's Way, which includes a hefty amount of shredded lettuce, tomatoes, onions, salt, pepper, and their secret oil & vinegar mix. You can also add pickles, banana peppers. Jalapeños. Mustard, mayo, and a few other things at no extra charge. The hot sandwiches I normally take as presented and are all very good. The sizes are typical with small & regular sizes, but they also offer a super size sandwich which is more than enough to feed 2, or can be eaten at multiple sittings. read more

I can't say the food is bad because it isn't. However, the few times I have been in this location it has been less than inviting. Myself and two of my friends went in for lunch around 12:30 PM. I immediately suggested we go to the location on first street and LA. It was the same old story about the customer service and the conditions of the environment inside. The store here it's not that big so if it is crowded do not come here in a wheelchair. Also, if it is hot outside this location is not for you because it is warm even with the air conditioner and they use a fan to circulate the air inside. Now the worst thing here is the customer service! It is slow! Even with so many people working behind the counter. The worst thing is they always seem to have one employee that has an attitude. He is some call skinny kid who thinks his you know what doesn't stink! Horrible Customer Service I'm incredibly disappointed in the staff for the 8pm shift at this Jersey Mike's location. We ordered through Uber Eats (3 sandwiches and 3 bags of chips). When the Uber Eats driver picked up the order, he said the employee was finishing up the order and then promptly shoved the bag at him. (w / no chips) So he assumed everything was there. I'm confidant in saying that it is Jersey Mike's staffs' responsibility to make sure the driver has the complete order before he leaves. The driver can not see on his phone what the complete order is so he has no way of knowing if he is missing anything. (FYI the driver is not aloud to look in the bag and check the order) The Uber Eats driver then delivered the order to us and I questioned him about the chips. He said I would have to call JMs and explained about not being able to check the order. I then called JMs and told them what happened. The young man who answered the phone expressed extreme diss-concern and said "if you want your chips you can come and pick them up". The employee was completely uncaring, rude and made it VERY obvious that he just wanted to get off the phone. I mentioned to him that if I had to drive down there I would be defeating the entire purpose of having my order delivered in the first place. He then said, "Well, I don't know what to tell you." Again, I could tell he couldn't care less and really wanted to get off the phone. He said I would have to call Uber Eats if I want my chips delivered. I asked the employee if I gave him my name + number if I could pick up the chips tomorrow. I felt as if HE should have mentioned this option to me, and that would have been GOOD customer service, but instead I had to bring it up as an option that should have been obvious to him. He agreed and took my info, so I'm curious if I'll get my chips if I show up there tomorrow. If your employees don't respect and care for your customers those customers will go somewhere else. We usually eat at this Jersey Mikes and it has always been clean and the employees friendly. The first thing we noticed was how dirty the floors and tables were and no trash bag in the trash can. Nobody greeted us Welcome to Jersey Mikes when we came in like they have in the past. The meat slicer was filthy full of meat and cheese like it hasn't been cleaned in a while. A fly also landed in the meat slicer then the lady wiped the meat slicer off with a filthy rag. We ordered 2 hot sandwiches and one of them they burnt the meat. We will probably not be back there again which is too bad because we usually enjoy their food. read more

Please train the staff better. 16 year olds are perfectly capable of delivering high-quality customer service if they are trained properly and then held accountable. Who is training these kids? Who is on them daily to make sure they're doing their job well? I don't even blame the kids, they need good leadership, which seems to be lacking here. I hate it when a business uses Covid as an excuse for a poor customer experience! I enjoy sandwiches from Jersey Mike's and came to this location to buy dinner. I needed to use the restroom and hurried in only to be told the bathrooms are closed due to Covid! I explained that I was going to purchase some thing and I needed to use the facility and they said sorry they're closed. Let me get this straight I can pay for food, make my own drink touching the self-serve sodas and open and close the door to your business but I can't go into the place where I would be able to wash my hands?! This location consistently provides poor service, and today was my last visit. On previous visits, there've been no less than 6 people behind counter, but it always took at least 10 minutes to get a sandwich. Today, in an attempt to avoid the wait, I ordered online and gave them 25 minutes until pick up. When I arrived and asked for order, they asked my name and then multiple people aimlessly looked around for a ticket. Guy says "ok - we're just finishing it up." Lie - they hadn't even started it. Waited another ten minutes as multiple guests walked up to counter, ordered and were served before me. Why did I pre order online? Once order was ready, I went up to counter, said 'thank you' only to have three staff members ignore the courtesy, and continue their private conversation. The chipotle sandwich is my absolute favorite. I don't think I've tried anything else. The staff is always friendly and fast even when they are line out the door busy. I really appreciate that. I usually stop in when I'm too lazy or busy to make dinner and get my usual sandwich and my boyfriend always has a very specific order and it doesn't seem to annoy the staff. (Haha). My hubby was going on and on and on about this place so since he was working last night, and Monday night football was on, I took myself on over for a sub. First, the staff is great. They were friendly and funny and personable. I felt like I was hanging out with friends. Their bread is the shit! You can totally tell that they really do bake it fresh every day. And I love how they cut everything to order. I opted for the Albacore Tuna on wheat, with freshly sliced Provolone. Now that would have been a great sandwich, but they took it further with all sorts of fresh toppings. They then topped the masterpiece off with sprinkles of red wine vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper - like a good ol' fashioned sub should be topped. So, I used to come here from the time it opened. In fact, I used to speak to the original owner about Jersey Mike's as a business opportunity. Those days seem long ago because the service used to be impeccable. It used to resonate with highly enthusiastic employees. Now it feels like a morgue and a chore for those employees. The tall skinny girl cutting the meat needs a serious attitude adjustment. I hope the current owner sees this posting because she is KILLING your business! My husband picked up dinner tonight from J.M.'s. I always order a giant 56 (cheese steak) because it's super tasty and I love having the leftovers. I always request NO ONION AND MUSHROOMS. I open it up and the only toppings they put in it were onions and mushrooms. I thought about picking them off, but there were just too many. So for the first time in my life, I decided to take it back. When I told the girl what had happened, she blankly looked at me but nicely said they would make me a new one. When I got my new sandwich, instead of making a giant they made a regular size. I am not one to complain, so I just left. I didn't ask for them to compensate my meal, although an offer of free chips or a cookie would have been nice. The staff use to be super nice and helpful. The last several times I've been there it's just been high school kids running the place. They don't seem to care if they mess up your order and in fact they seem put out that you're interrupting their texting time. A couple months back I had donated blood. As a thank you for that they gave me a card for Jersey Mikes. It was a coupon for a free drink and bag of chips if I bought a large or giant sub. I was happy to be able to finally use it when my buddy told me we were comin here. They were doing a promotional thing, where all their proceeds were going towards a local cause. So, I was even happier to be going that day. We walked in, and had to wait in a bit of a line. I read the menu board, and perused my sandwich options. When I got up to the counter, I knew what I wanted I asked the guy for a giant turkey sub. When he pulled the loaf of bread, I panicked. Wow. Giant subs are pretty big. He pulled out a round of turkey, and plopped it down on a deli slicer. After 'meat slicer guy' sliced a few handfulls of turkey, he the meat on the bread in handfulls, not slices. He then handed it over to another guy to his right, 'assembly guy' who asked me what else I'd like on my sub. My first question was if after assembly he could cut it in half and pack half away for dinner. He nodded and said that was totally do-able. He asked if I wanted the thing done up 'Mikes way'. Which I guess is with oil & vinegar. I asked if he could do that for the 'for now' half, and not on the 'for dinner half' as vinegar and oil really do soggy up a sandwich terribly over 3 hours in the fridge at work. He again nodded, and complied. He then worked his 'assembly guy' magic and put lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, mustard, oil, vinegar, and a shake of salt and pepper on the 'for now' half of the sub. He was careful to assemble and pack up the 'for dinner' half before even shaking the oil & vinegar on the 'for now' half. He bagged up the 'for dinner' half and put the 'for now' half in wax paper. He then handed both to the girl to his right. 'Cash Register' girl asked me what kind of sub I got, and I told her giant turkey sub. I handed her my blood card for free chips and drink, and she took it and smiled. I grabbed a bag of chips, and she handed me a coke. Register briefly said $14.24 before 'cash register girl' worked her cash register magic to remove the chips and drink. It went back down to 11.95. I think it crept up around 12 and change after tax. I paid with my debit card, and 'cash register girl' gave me an extra big bag in which to put my 'to go' half and bag of chips. I fumbled with the bag, my wallet, my phone, 'for now' sub, 'for dinner' sub and a bag of chips for a few feet until I got to a table, where i spread it all out, and re-assembled myself. After I had unwrapped the sub and taken my obligatory yelp photo, I took a bite. Holy Carp! This sandwich was was very very good. The turkey was fresh, the veggies were crisp, the mayo, mustard, oil & vinegar had somehow merged to form a super condiment. It had sour notes, sweet notes, and everything in-between. I was stuffed, but happy after I had finished the 'for now' half of the sandwich. I washed my hands, and took advantage of the wi-fi bubble at the place next door. Didn't even have to leave my table. This is a pretty good place. They're community friendly, (the blood drive cards & the charity for whatever that day) they're sandwiches are freshly sliced and made, and quite colossal (albeit a tad on the pricey side) But ya, I guess dinner and lunch, 12 bucks.....not too bad I suppose. I walked in and found this place to be quite different than a lot of sub shops. The menu was fresh and interesting, the employees were engaging and friendly, and quite helpful in ordering. I got a combo sub and was surprised by the great amount of meats that they served. Then they suggested having it "Mike's style" with Onions, lettuce, tomatoes, oil and salt. Want a great, quick, fresh sub? Then I would stop by Jersey Mike's. While it is a little pricey compared to places like Subway, you can't even compare the quality and taste. Jersey Mike's blows those other places out of the water. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by a loud welcome from some of the staff. Everyone seems to be happy and in a good mood. You go an place your order at one of the counter. Depending on what you order, they will be cutting your meats and cheeses right there in front of you. While most sub places are very skimpy on the amount of meat and cheese that they put on the sandwich, Jersey Mike's always puts plenty so you feel like you get what you are paying for. I get either the turkey and swiss sub or a philly cheesesteak with peppers. After cutting your meats and cheeses, you go down the line like any other sub place and put on your veggies and condiments. Then they wrap it for you and you pay. So because they are cutting the meats and cheeses for you, it definitely takes a little longer to get your sandwich than other chain sub places. But its worth the wait. I would recommend Jersey Mikes day in and day out. read more

The crew that was working tonight 8/14 was awesome! You can definatly tell all of them we're taking initiative to help where needed not sure but it seemed slightly understaffed. The 3 employees that I saw handled what seemed close to 10 orders between takeout and in store orders in the short time I was there. Me and my family of 6 all enjoyed our food aswell everything was executed consistently. We got a few hot sandwiches wich were delicious and the stubborn cream soda they have is great aswell.
