Amazing guys tonight! I like these guys here tonight! January 9, 2025 - my sub is always delicious when they cook.

Erica G.

I dined in at this Jersey Mike's location on 12/26/18. I went there to redeem my coupon, for a free sub and soda for my bday month. Now I have been to Jersey Mike's a few times (the location in Chesterfield), and have always had a pleasant experience, and the subs are good to me! I was at the Macomb Mall, and I quickly remembered that there was a Jersey Mike location that had opened I believe in the last year or two years ago right across the street from the mall. So I was happy to go over and redeem my coupon. The staff waiting on me were very nice! So no complaints there. Now; to what my concerns are. The restaurant was very unclean, like I bypassed honestly three tables there were very dirty, hadn't been wiped down; and crumbs and food under the table (and the restaurant isn't that big inside). I found a table close to the window, that I ended up wiping down. When I went to get a straw for my drink, there was none out. So I went back to the table, and was about to drink the pop from the cup the old school way, since I didn't have a straw. When I took the lid off to drink from the cup, I noticed black speckles all throughout the pop, which I know from working in food service, could mean that the ice machine hadn't been clean. So I didn't even drink the pop. The sub on the other hand was actually good. Again, I've had the subs before several times from a different location, and always thought the food was good! But I couldn't get past how unclean this restaurant was, and I was there around 2 pm in the afternoon, so it wasn't like this was at night before the place was closing, and they had a full day of traffic, so they couldn't clean, which would still not be an excuse, but I was trying to understand why it was so I kept. I was also surprised by the uncleanliness; Bc as I stated before, this particular location is newer from what I remember. So for the inside conditions to be is such disarray, and for the pop machine to be dirty, just seems interesting that the staff would allow for such distasteful ness. I also tried to think, well it was the day after Christmas, but again, there is no excuse. Seeming I do like the subs, but I was just not satisfied with this particular location, I'm sure I will still support the chain restaurant again. I will just probably go to the regular location in Chesterfield that I'm used to.

They have Dr Browns soft drinks and all the flavors! The matzoball soup is amazing def 9 out of 10. The sandwiches are top notch. The meat is super fresh and the rye bread is fresh and perfect. And you can get them to grill whatever you order right in front of you. To top it all of the atmosphere is an experience. Like walking into a NY deli in the 70s. I highly recommend to anyone in the area. And worth the trip if you are not from the area.

The inside has an old-school diner vibe, which could be charming, but the overall experience didn't quite match. Staff interaction was neutral--not unfriendly, but not particularly welcoming either. My husband ordered the Lynne sandwich and I had the Adele, along with a bowl of matzo ball soup. The soup was definitely the highlight--flavorful and comforting--but at nearly $9 for a bowl, it felt overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately, the sandwiches didn't live up to expectations. The meat was piled in the center of the bread, leaving the ends with little to nothing in each bite, which made them feel poorly constructed and just overall mediocre. We were also surprised by the number of upcharges--extra for toasting the bread, extra for grilling, and even a 3% fee for using a credit card. It all adds up quickly. For two sandwiches and a shared soup, our total came to just over $40, which felt steep given the quality. It's disappointing because we wanted to like this place, but the high prices just didn't align with the food or experience. Unfortunately, we'll likely be crossing Uncle Harry's off our list.

My aunt and uncle both wear hearing aids, and we found ourselves practically yelling across the table to have a conversation. Even without hearing aids, I couldn't hear my husband sitting right next to me! The food was a mixed bag. We started with the charcuterie board, which was just okay. For the price, I expected something a little more interesting, especially at an Italian restaurant. As you can see in the picture, it featured fairly ordinary cheeses, including American and cheddar Jack, along with basic salami. Nothing particularly gourmet or distinctly Italian. On the positive side, my husband's ravioli was delicious, and the salmon was very good! Unfortunately, my veal piccata was disappointing. The sauce was oddly thick and perhaps overly buttery, although I tend to use a lighter hand with butter when I make it myself. I only ate a few bites, took the rest home, and ultimately didn't even finish the leftovers. I'd give the food about 3.5 stars and the ambiance 3 stars. The restaurant itself is charming, and perhaps it's considerably quieter at lunch. But between the inconsistent food and the overwhelming noise, I wouldn't return for dinner.

I'm not sure if these are Celiac friendly BUT they have amazing Gluten Free Chicken Tenders. They were crispy and moist, definitely seem house made. I am also in love with their potato salad. Also, GREAT RANCH. (It's the runny kind and definitely made in house) Additionally, someone in my party got the Matzo Ball Soup and said it was very delicious. Same with the Maurice Salad. It has a cute, classic diner feel--nothing recently updated, but it was clean and comfortable. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. We brought our three young kids and ordered them each a kids meal: chicken tenders with fries, spaghetti, and a cheeseburger with fries. The portions were generous and we even had leftovers, but at $10 per kids meal, the pricing felt pretty steep. We started with the bread basket and pickles, which were both good. My husband ordered the Monterey Jack chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. He first tried the chicken noodle soup but thought it had a sour aftertaste, so he switched to the beef barley, which unfortunately wasn't much better. His chicken entrée had good flavor, but it was just one thin, butterflied chicken breast. I ordered the New Yorker with fries, which I enjoyed--it was solid and satisfying. When the bill came to around $80, it just didn't feel justified for a deli/diner-style meal. Overall, the food was okay, but the pricing felt high for what you get--especially for a family outing. I might stop in again solo for a sandwich, but we likely won't be bringing the whole family back, mainly due to the cost of the kids meals.

The staff was so nice and gave me suggestions on what to try. The service was excellent. For sandwiches, we tried the Italian and prosciutto. The meats were really good. Unfortunately, the oil and herbs wasn't on my husband's sub, and I think they accidentally put mild peppers instead of hot. 3/5 I learned you come here for the baked goods!!!! I tried the tiramisu, cannoli, and got an old fashioned donut for my hubs. I had a harm time choosing what delectable sweet to take home. The tiramisu was stellar. 5/5 I wish the front had a little less wine and a seating area to have a donut and coffee. It's not that kind of place to sit down and have an espresso, but still a very cool spot. They have an online order option which I'll try next time.

The jalapeño queso tasted like jar queso from Meijer with two sad sliced jalapeños on top. It was cold and the chips straight from Gordon foods were very stale. We told our waiter and asked for hot queso and fresh chips and got back the same dish....Waiter said he'd come back to check if it was better and never did. Probably because he knew we'd say it still was gross. DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THAT. Our friends got the spinach queso , which was laughable. The same nasty queso we had with some spinach thrown in and same stale chips. For my meal I got the salmon club. What a waste of $20. It came as a triple decker, the top layer had the smallest piece of salmon and my other half didn't have any salmon on top. Suppose to have avocado on it, which it was minimum. And the "crab mayo" was not crab mayo , literally just plain mayo. I took it apart and ate the over cooked salmon instead. My husband got a burger which was dry and over cooked, I've never seen him not finish a burger in my life. On top of it all they "had" to put on 20% gratuity because we had 6 people in our party, ridiculous. Service was so slow for a Tuesday, when it was so dead inside. I can honestly say I'll never go here again or recommend this restaurant. Way better places to eat in SCS.
