Visited in the morning at 1115am and the energy in the store was upbeat, positive and welcoming. There was one person in line and I was served immediately. I ordered 2 Kahuna Phillies and a Club Supreme sans mayo. The Supreme Club was recommended and I was told it was a delicious sub. I enjoyed every bite of my Kahuna Philly Large, the bread was soft, airy and so so fresh, juicy all whilst not being soggy even after the 10 minute commute to it's final destination . I accompanied all subs with chips (Ms. Vicky's Jalapeño Chips, spicy if you're a little ****, Salt and Vinegar and a Sun Chip) because texture is necessary, right! I was quite impressed with the sub a matter of fact. The flavors all worked so well together, it was not salty either as most Philly Cheesteaks get, the melt in the cheese and cook on the meat was very well executed. Props to the cooks, wonderful job gents. The flavors in the Philly were spicy, meaty, cheesy and earthy from the fresh wheat bread, the tangyness from the pickled jalapeños cut the richness from the cheese and meat, the sweetness from the red bell peppers and sautéed onions complemented the spicy very well. It's a well thought out sandwich and the portion of the meat and just the whole sub was gratifying at the price point. I was initially awed by the price and after eating the sub, I was left feeling I got value! This sub puts Fire-House and Subway to shame in my book! The bread is quite impressive! The customer service was horrible. The kid working there looked up at me and didn't say anything so I had to ask if I could order from him. He wasn't friendly and didn't look like he wanted to be there at all. I told him that I wanted more items on my sub once he put the meat on the grill. Jersey Mike's Subs are as good as it gets in my opinion! I love this location for the fast service and convenience as it's right off the interstate. I usually order the Regular Turkey on Wheat topped "Mike's Way" and I add mayo, mustard and hot pepper relish. Their tea is always freshly brewed and really great. They have several flavors of chips to choose from as well. If you'd rather not have all the bread of a sub, they do offer wraps and sub in a tub, which is basically a sub salad. The employee waved me back. They were so gracious and kind. I asked what was easy to make since they were trying to finish. "Whatever you want," was the reply. I got the perfect cheesesteak I was craving. Talk about customer service and going the extra mile. Terrible...I waited in line for 30 mins, even after the worker took my order, for them to fix others sandwiches that were behind me in line, to tell me they didnt have steak, they only had chicken...also this person was placing everyone's bread and meat on a naked counter til it was prepared by another worker...that is disgusting...that's terrible business practices...i spent my entire lunch in line only to leave still hungry I would greatly appreciate contact from the owner if possible this is very unacceptable. So happy to have a Jersey Mike's Subs in Midtown!! I was tired of driving to Daphne to get my fix. You see, I really, really like JMs. When living in locales without a JM, I would go out of my way to find on one a road trip. So I'm kinda bummed to give today's sandwich only 4 stars. Oh, and I only order roast beef or chicken salad subs. And sadly, this JM, just like the rest in LA, does not offer chicken salad. As if we in South Alabama don't appreciate a good chicken salad sandwich! But I digress. The roast beef on my sandwich was tough. While admiring the fresh, fresh toppings available, I noticed the beef being sliced wasn't the normal rosy pink level of rareness I so enjoy. It was more of a medium-well and not nearly as tender as past experiences. The great bread, gorgeous sliced tomatoes and friendly service kept this from being a total downer. So I hope management doesn't think along with our disdain for chicken salad, that we also don't appreciate medium rare beef. My first experience with this restaurant was a bad one. I originally ordered through Uber Eats and they had messed up my order. Forgot a few items. Food was cold. IDK really on who is to blame for that BUT... after I called and spoke to the manager. He was kind enough to replace our order on our next trip through town ( we were traveling from Texas to Florida ). With that said. When we picked up our order that was replaced for free. Well, what can I say other than this is the best sub franchise out there right now. The bathrooms where not as clean as they should be for opening a half an hour earlier. The sub that I ordered was the 56 a super crazy cheese stake that has extra cheese and mushrooms. I was very much looking forward to enjoying it. I get my steaming hot sub and open to find that I have been fooled and was given a normal cheese stake. Although not what I ordered I enjoyed it. Just a little disappointed that I did not get what I asked for. I was the only one there so there really was no reason for the mistake. This locations staff does not wear mask while preparing food and working with customers. Out of the three employees working only the one guy on the grill was wearing a mask and even he was not wearing it properly. The other two employees did not have one on at all. As covid cases continue to rise in this area I would like people who are preparing my food to take it seriously. They were also very disorganized and arguing amongst themselves. We stopped here to grab lunch on Memorial Day on our way back from the beach. We were pleasantly surprised to see this location open and the service was amazing. I have celiac disease and the gluten free sandwich I ordered was delicious. The man working took all necessary precautions in changing his gloves, preparing it on a separate surface, etc. and was really friendly and polite. Jersey Mike's Dauphin St provides great customer service however I decided to try them because a friend suggested it several months ago and taste wise I was sorely let down. They do give you more meat than most sub shops but their wheat bread was extremely hard. The store was exceptionally clean however I did not use the facilities but if it's anything like the front of the house it should be great. Even the outside table was well kept. Reuben has nice pastrami on a nondescript untoasted white bread w sweet dressing and a smattering of kraut.
