When attempting to pay they could not accept cash as the register was broken and no one had a key. I offered to pay via credit card and was charged tax to eat there although I was taking it to go and was not being charged tax when 1st attempting to use cash. Employee lacked the knowledge to remove the eat in tax. Either way 15+ for a dry and poor example of a pastrami sandwich is too much!

The menu when I stopped by recently at the Pearl Alley Market was limited to just three sandwiches: turkey bahn mi, ham and swiss, and their 21 day reserve corned beef. Cut fairly thick, the sandwich had a hearty (but not obnoxious) measure of meat. It was griddled so that the cheese melted and held everything together. I opted for a roll instead of the rye bread on the menu. I'm not sure where they source the bread, but it was excellent with a nice crust and softer interior bite. The quality of the corned beef was top notch, some of the best I've had recently. I wouldn't hesitate to get it again. Nor would I hesitate to seek them out elsewhere. According to the operator of the cart, they also have a breakfast menu which they're currently serving on Saturdays at the Clintonville Farmers market.
