I'm amazed corporate hasn't done something about the owner's son and his terrible attitude. I feel sorry for the employees. He must absolutely hate his life to be so miserable at his own business. Walked in yesterday and was the only customer in line yet waited for several minutes to be spoken to or even have eye contact while he banged trays of bread around, went to the back twice and barked at his employees. In the meantime another couple came in behind me and we made eye contact like "what in the heck is going on"? I sat at the far end by the windows to eat and he continued to bark at people, mumble under his breathe and even dropped a few f bombs. Apparently he is the only one that can touch the bread proofer because it went off with a shrill alarm that lasted longer than it should until he waddled over to turn it off. I packed up and left at that point because of the unpleasantness but the whole restaurant (two other couples) heard all of this. Won't be back. These bad reviews go back years so apparently nothing is going to change. read more

visited the gastonia location yesterday. the man that takes your order and cuts the bread and meat has a bad attitude. not nice at all. me and my wife a both diabetics and drink unsweet tea. so we got our tea and ask the woman at the check for a sweetner. she handed my a pack of sugar and said they had no articicial sweetners. then i ask again and the man nexxt to iher said the same thing. then the big guy that starts your order yelled out we dont have any. noone there is friendly read more

I've never had a bad experience with location and I've been going to it for years. While I currently don't have any pictures to post of the subs, I'll make sure I update my post in the near future. The staff are extremely friendly and make sure your food is great with each visit. While this is only a strip mall sit-down restaurant, I can also say that it's also extremely clean. I would highly recommend checking it out if you're in the Gaston County area and you're in the mood for a sub, hot or cold. read more

I've been going there for a while, but that's come to an end. The owner's son (may be the owner now) has little understanding of customer service or management (entitled maybe). As the owner of a small business with 20 full-time employees, I understand it can be stressful. However, you never direct this stress toward the paying customer. You had only five people to manage along with your own professional courtesy. Exercise more--it will do you some good! 25 years competing in combat sports, and today was about to be my first time being clubbed by a number 19. Stay away, or if not, better you find humor in the guys attitude. read more

Jersey Mike's Subs - Fast Food Near Me - Gastonia, North Carolina

I entered the store and ordered a regular size chicken kahuna. I said just as it comes on the menu. The sandwich should have been cooked to order because it's a hot sub, but it was handed to me almost immediately. Once I paid at the register. they did not have enough time to cook it fresh. It was cool. There was absolutely no cheese on it so it was very dry. The employees were all acting very foolish with laughing and talking back in the kitchen and obviously we're not interested in helping anyone in this restaurant. The restaurant has also become very dirty not like it used to be. read more

I accidentally placed an order at this location rather than the Belmont location via the app and called to have them cancel it. When I called the manager answered and I explained what happened - his response was "What am I supposed to do with the subs?" lol, my dude, you could literally do anything you want with them but mistakes happen. Judging by his tone this was the most upsetting thing that had happened to him all day. I just hope he doesn't have a family or anyone who could potentially upset him because it sounds like my dude has some stuff to work through in therapy. Update: lol, this loser only refunded me half the cost. I'll be done with JM after this read more

Alright, so I don't usually write reviews like this, and it's honestly kinda depressing that I have to, but here we are. Tonight, I was picking up a to-go order, and the dude who seemed to be either the manager or front-of-house staff served up the wildest attitude to the guy in front of me. The whole interaction was so rude, I was standing there like..."what?" Never been to a place where staff is on their phone the second you walk in, still on it while taking orders and, mind you, while discussing dietary restrictions. Bro belittled this guy just because he asked for a different sauce... seriously? Big sigh. Again, I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but this interaction was next-level unpleasant. The guy they were rude to even looked at me, and we both had that awkward "Did that really just happen?" moment. Honestly, I can't come back here unless there's some major management overhaul or better work environment, because this ain't it. For context: this was an older gentleman with a salt-and-pepper beard. I get that everyone's got their own issues, but don't bring that energy to work, my guy. A d the food was subpar :( boo read more

Great food! Great meat and great serving sizes. Great service and good tea! Wish it were closer to me.

I've been to many Jersey Mikes and it's not secret your sandwiches are stacked! Apparently this location didn't get the memo, because they're EXTREMELY stingy! Our Italian Sandwiches were PATHETICALLY thin and sad looking! Considering your sandwiches aren't cheap, you need to be generous with those slices of meats! I definitely won't return to this location again since I know they're greedy! read more

Jersey Mike's Subs - Very STINGY portion of meats! This is supposed to be an Italian. - Fast Food Near Me - Gastonia, North Carolina

No issues with quality of product. It's the "consistently" bad attitude by the employees. Along with no greeting, no thank you is the extremely rude and disrespectful behavior of the employees. Visit this location after 6PM and they look and speak to you as if you are a burden. The one gentleman that appears to be the son of the owner(or former owner) has major anger issues. I do not have this experience with any other Jersey Mike's locations I visit in the Southeast & Mid-Atlantic regions. Why Corporate allows this to occur for so many years is beyond me. In the business world I come from, 'heads would roll". read more

Love their sandwiches! Best in town, HOWEVER, the last 2 times I have ordered my order was incomplete: only what was sliced on first# 1: NO MAYO, MUSTARD, TOMATO, LETTUCE, PICKLES, OIL AND VINEGAR, SALT/PEPPER. I had ordered this for my sandwich. Last night, all omitted EXCEPT: OIL/VINEGAR, OREGANO, TOMATO, and NARELY ANY LATTUCE! What is going on?? New people that can not read, or people that just don't care. This sandwich was $22.50 via Doordash. That is not cheap. I expect it to be correct as ordered requested. I hope they improve. Next time I will return and ask that it be remade. I guess the only way to have correct is to go in person. So far, they are proving they can not be trusted! read more

food was great, but I will never go there again because of poor customer care the manager has the worst attitude ever everyone just standing around sad Because of the shitty ass manager attitude I got no type of greeting when I walked in. I use to work at jersey mikes and we all had great attitude spoke to everyone greeted them when they customer come in... I highly recommend everyone just order online and not go in there because the atmosphere will bring your whole mood down read more

Ordered this today. I did add the bite mark, but once I realized there was only bread in the first bite of the 26 dollar "double meat" sandwich I decided to snap a photo of it. Not asking for anything, just warning everyone to not waste their money on additional charges. I've ordered this same sandwich from multiple locations and I'd almost bet this is less than the normal portion of meat. Would've been 1 star but my wife's sub was fine. read more

So I am an AVID fan of Jersey mikes!! For some reason, at this location, the employees consistently project an attitude of hating working there. No smiles, sideways looks, hostile tones, and the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a Jersey mikes. I'll keep coming back for the food, just wish I didn't leave pissed off every time because of the human interactions I experienced was comically terrible. read more

The food is amazing, but what really stood out is the staff's dedication to doing things right. My wife is allergic to wheat and ordered a gluten free sub roll. The staff immediately wiped the crumbs off the counter, cleaned the meat cutter, changed gloves, and used a bottle instead of their regular knife to apply her mayonnaise. She didn't mention her allergy, she just ordered her sub. Their dedication really impressed me! read more

Avoid this location if you want good service! I wanted to add an additional sandwich in the middle of my others still being mad and the guy taking order (manager I'm assuming) rolled his eyes and blew his breath as if I was inconveniencing him by spending more money. Mind you the place was not packed I was the only once placing an order when I arrived. Another customer did come in after me but was done ordering when I advised I needed an additional sandwich. I will never spend my money here again! The staff can thank him for not receiving a tip! read more

The food is wonderful and service is always with a smile. The place is always busy so order online.

The last review I wrote about Jersey Mike's Subs was in October of 2018. All the workers there were really nice, the service was fast, and the food was great. But THAT review is in the list of those reviews that are "not recommended" to be viewed here. So you'll have to click on the "not recommended" link to read the few reviews...good and bad...not openly put out for all of us to see. The reason now for THIS review (Sorry it's so long): My husband and I decided to go over to Jersey Mike's yesterday around 4:30 pm and get a couple of Giant subs since we hadn't been there for quite some time. Wow... the atmosphere there has definitely changed! Only 4 people working: 1. A heavyset middle-aged guy at the meat/cheese slicer with a really bad attitude towards everyone...EVERYONE...there while we were there! The guy doesn't pick and choose his "victims" too. He's very "ecumenical" in that he obviously hates EVERYONE. Slicer Guy was rude, abruptly cut people off in mid-sentence while they were giving their orders to him, walked away while they were still talking, and treated everyone, even the co-workers, as though they weren't worth being civil to! Personally, I've never experienced such a consistently high level of rudeness in any place dependent upon repeat customer service! He must be at least part-owner because an EMPLOYEE would have been fired for blatantly jeopardizing the earnings of that business! He also needs an in-service class on cleanliness because he apparently hadn't cleaned his slicer off in hours from what I observed: the meat/cheese buildup on that machine's blade as well as on the surrounding machine parts would never pass any city or state inspection! (Yes, I understand "busy" but a slicer doesn't have to stay dirty. At the VERY least, it could still be cleaned off between orders with damp wrung-out cloth towels that get stored in a cleaning-solution-filled container when not in use.) Apparently, he also has no concern about any customers who don't want cheese on their subs, or are allergic to it. Whatever happened to using TWO slicers...one for meat and the other for cheese?! Also, the small loose cheese and meat fragments that were "just cut" but didn't go into the subs (thankfully) were dry-wiped away with a few tosses of a short white towel...that, when NOT in use...was also tossed "here" and "there" around his work area AFTER using it to wipe his hands! He repeatedly used this same dry contaminated cloth the entire time we were there. Sigh. I'm glad my husband and I have VERY strong immune systems! 2. A young guy putting all the subs together by himself and working his buns off. But the kid was getting the orders right and kept his station clean between orders! Good job! The Giant roast beef/turkey club he made for me was perfect! I felt bad for him, though, because he definitely looked uneasy at working next to that middle-aged Slicer Guy. Hey, I would too. 3. A guy in the back, making the hot subs. Only saw the top of his head. But the Giant Philly Cheese Steak he made for my husband (& wrapped up) came out great! 4. And another young guy at the register who reminded us that we could get chips, cookies, etc, with our meal. Good job in the "selling" department! :) There were 5 customers ahead of my husband and me. Unfortunately, the THIRD customer ahead of us ordered 4 SUBS! You would have thought he had committed a crime! And while that customer repeatedly tried to tell him what was wanted on each of the subs, Slicer Guy kept interrupting him! My impression of Slicer Guy is that he doesn't want repeat business or large orders since the attitude he gave that one 4-sub customer wasn't appropriate at all! And I got the impression from that customer's face that if he wasn't bringing back subs for others, he'd have just walked out! Well, we got our subs and they were great. AND we're not sick today. :) However, it's going to be another long time before we ever go back there. NOBODY should ever have to put up with or even LISTEN to such a rude attitude as Slicer Guy's. HE needs to be "working from home" and NOT with customers! read more

I love the southeast but it's rare to find sandwiches that rival the northeast. When I need a decent sandwich, I go to Jersey mikes. This is a great location. Nice and quick service, and very clean. Just wanted to send a note of appreciation. Thanks all! read more

In general I am a big fan of Jersey Mike's. Unfortunately this location this morning did not meet my expectations. The order was incorrect, but I can understand that since we are wearing masks. It's very possible they mis-heard me What I was disappointed in was (1) the soda machine was clearly not changed out and had a terrible taste to it. I got the meal to go so I was not going to drive back to the store to redo my drink. So I just threw out the drink. (2) Also, the men's bathroom was not working. read more

Went this passed weekend to this location in Gastonia because the onion ordering shut off so I decided to go inside, wasn't greeted way all once I stepped up to the counter, after waiting my turn in the line, with just a "what do you want?" I proceeded to tell the man, who I assume is the manger which I've seen multiple times and never seems to be in a better mood than the last time I saw him. Telling the man my order he continues to mumble back responds that I can't hear due to the volume of the tv in the area. For him to basically yell at me saying they had no white or rosemary parmesan bread, that I'll have to wait 15mins. What establishment, that sell subs, sell out of bread?? on a Saturday night?? I get upset with the way I'm being treated so I walk out the door saying that the place was a joke of the restaurant. Which the same man yells at me asking what I said and to say it to their face. I turned around and told the man to "have a great night" in which he yells at me to do the same which I in turn tell him " I wouldn't come back to this place so I will." Idk what type of person they think they are to talk to people let alone a customer is just out of control. read more

If I could give zero stars. Please do not go here expecting good food and quality service. It use to be good but not anymore. Hubby and I spent $30 last night, brought our food home and threw it all in the trash. FYI we do have a dog. But we love him ...so no, I did not give it to him. The philly cheese steak subs were dry, the meat tasted old and chewy. You just had to swallow it because chewing wasn't going to break it down because it was so dry! I felt like it was days old meat and not fresh. I know that we just donated money to this establishment because all they can give me is a refund. The food was so bad, I do not want a do over or replacement. Although, they haven't returned my husband's call or issued a refund. read more

I used to go To Jersey Mikes in Johnson City, TN. It was awesome. Staff were always polite, and helpful. Place was very clean. I was excited when I finally found this one! Well, the cashier didn't realize that I get to Pick what I wanted on salad. The salad Was in a box Much smaller than the one that I had been used to. Tried to tell me the paper was cheaper than plastic(by what.000001 cent?) and the serving size was the same. Then said it is a sub in a tub, not a salad in a tub. Well, it is a salad. Told him I expected to tell them what I wanted on the salad, said they could take that up with manager. I do not care enough to discuss with manager. Their business was slow, and it was 1700! I Wish that I had read the reviews first, I would NOT have wasted my time. I left without the food! I had rather starve. They wont be in business for much longer. This place looks dirty, city needs to Get off their rear ends and INSPECT THIS PLACE! . I can only imagine what the bathroom looked like! Horrible! read more

If I could give 0 stars, that would be the best way to describe my opinion. I went there once fir the first time and that was my last. I couldn't take the attitude of all the employees, right from the person who took the order and the one who made it, my God, what an awful experience. Jersey Mike's Subs - Front counter - Fast Food Near Me - Gastonia, North Carolina

I will NEVER return to this store. I've been there probably 15-18 times and EVERY time the slightly heavy middle aged man is there (I think the manager or owner), he is rude to me, EVERY TIME. I can't eat bread, so I ALWAYS order chicken salad in a cup, 1 packet of ranch dressing and how ever many saltine crackers they will give me. Never have a problem ordering this as long as this man is not there. I have never been told "they aren't supposed to sell the chicken salad this way". Well, why not? It's the same amount that goes on a sandwich, charge me for the whole 6 inch, I'm fine with that. But EVERYTIME this man is there and he takes my order he grumbles and whines and is as rude as he can be. Today I ordered 1 small tub and 3 large tubs of chicken salad (and these tubs are small, very small. He threw a 6 inch piece of bread on the counter and started to cut it and I said "no bread please, just the chicken salad in a tub". He said "you don't want a sandwich? And I said no, I can't eat bread. I just want chicken salad, crackers and ranch dressing". He said "well, I have no way to ring this up" and I said, I've ordered this very same meal at least 15 times and never have a problem unless you're here and today is the first time you've ever told me you aren't suppose to sell it this way." I always pay the price of a 6 inch chicken salad sub. I expected today to be more, but $22.00 for this small amount of chicken salad? And on top of that they gave me 1 pack of ranch dressing and 4 crackers. And the employees behind the counter looked terrified, like they experience his abuse a lot. I love their chicken salad and my husband loves their subs, but we will never go into this location again. Thank goodness we have a new one in Belmont. read more

This is my husband's and my absolute 'go to' sub shop! Everyone working there is extremely nice, and they all try hard to give you exactly what you want. The older gentleman who owns this franchise is from New Jersey, and he and my hubby have quite the conversation whenever we go there while this owner's on duty. (Two New Jerseyites who grew up in the same area. Lol.) The Philly cheesesteak sub is something you have to try! Love that one! But in actuality, ALL the subs we've ordered have been heavy with meat and ingredients. No skimping, here! And the tomatoes, onions, etc, are always fresh, ripe, and delicious. Also, the owner told us that if we want something that's not on the menu...like those Pastrami Burgers we used to get out in Los Angeles...we can tell Jersey Mike's what the ingredients are and they'll try to replicate it as close as possible. Guess what I'm ordering next time we go there! (Will try to replicate that great L A sandwich by using plain meatballs for the burger, Provolone cheese, mayo, salt & pepper, and their wonderful pastrami. Lol.) FYI: The pastrami they use is the 'Real McCoy' like what those of us used to order when we were younger and living in New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts! Remember the fatty edges of each slice, the grease, the tenderness, and the FLAVOR? Yummmm. Also, just when you think things can't get any better, their SUB BREAD will blow you out of the water! White or wheat, it is to die for! Longer than the usual 12" subs everyone else gives you and SO SOFT that you'll think it was baked 'tomorrow' for use today! I have NEVER had such soft sub bread in my life! It definitely puts all the other sub shops to shame. If you're not too hungry, you can always go to the other sub shops. But if you're really hungry or even 'starving', Jersey Mike's is the place to head to! Whether you order 'regular' or 'giant', you'll find the prices, quality, and choices are all GREAT there! read more
