This is very unfortunate because I truly love McAlister's and the employees at this one are nice people but the food is getting to the point of walking . I pay extra for the extra chicken and lately I have been getting less chicken then you would normally receive . This is 2 of the last three salads we ordered the other day . Paid for and was charged for extra chicken . The last 4 times this has happened and it is not like I can turn around and go back while on a lunch break . I have been giving the benefit of the doubt but unless something changes I can not keep supporting one of my favorite places to eat .

After having the crab cake sandwich we would recommend doing the platter because the bread overpowers the crab cake. Everything was incredible, the flavors, consistency, and quality. It is for sure comfort food but nothing sits heavy and feels super fresh. Not a fan of coleslaw but it was super yummy and great corn fritters for our first time having them. Service was great. Ambiance was super informal and adds to the vibe of what you're eating. Also unrelated but the cashier/server has a super calming energy/presence/voice which totally added to the vibe

Came with slaw, 1x Side (Collard Greens: sweet vinegar with some heat, and a bit of pork, really good!), and some AMAZING Hushpuppies (fresh, sweet corn bread). Shrimp & Grits: Fantastic! Buttery and cheesy grits with sausage and nice shrimp (not over-cooked or chewy). Green beans were slightly too soft (30-mins until closing), but good comfort food. Coleslaw was "meh," but a good, crunchy foil to the fish and rice. Counter Service (order at register, then they bring to table/to-go) was quite fast, given that they had to cook the fish and prep foods for take-out. Everything looked clean, staff was nice, and owner was talking to everyone. Didn't get to try the variety of desserts, but they looked and smelled great. Traveling, but worth the stop!

The outside is fun, and available for us since we had our dog. The servers were all very nice and intuitive - we ordered a chicken sandwich with two sides and they split it in half on two plates without us asking. Great service! The food and beer were both tasty! We tried the pub chicken sandwich which was honestly fantastic on its own. I don't really like bacon and I LOVED the bacon on the sandwich. The chicken was also perfectly cooked. The sandwich was overall 10/10. For our sides, we tried the vinegar slaw which was so yummy, crunchy and light, and the Mac and cheese which was baked and tasty! For beer we tried the Goldilocks blonde, high time ipa, tiger blood ipa, and sunset summer ale. They were all yummy and refreshing!

It tasted more watery and less creamy but we didn't add any of those add on or supplements so it's hard to say if those give it the desired flavor. For just the basic Joe Blow person off street it wasn't that memorable, the portion I did think was large so I does reflect price well. For food we got Buffalo chicken & Caribbean jerk wrap respectively. The Buffalo wrap was good, spicy enough, and filled me up despite the portion not looking like much. The Caribbean wrap was in name only, rice, beans, and a Caribbean sauce w plain chicken but for Tropical Smoothie standards it's probably alright. There is one table w chairs inside but it's for waiting not eating inside. This seems to be popular, lots of people walking in for smoothies only. There's a mix of regular seating and a small bar section, plus a pleasant sitting area that should be great when the weather is nice. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in, and they were genuinely helpful with recommendations--particularly when I was deciding between drink options. I ended up with an egg and cheese sandwich on a Kaiser roll that came out steaming hot: the roll was light and fluffy, and the whole sandwich was simple but really well done. I also had a shot of espresso that arrived in a very nice presentation on a wooden board, paired with a side of sparkling water, which was a thoughtful touch and made the experience feel a bit special. On their recommendation I tried the honey lavender latte made with local spicy honey; it was unique, flavorful, and not something you see everywhere. Overall, Bean Bar feels like a low-key, well-put-together café with good parking, a relaxed vibe, kind staff, and drinks and food that show real care.
