First time trying Jersey Mike's -- unfortunately, not a great experience.
We went to the Jersey Mike's on Madison Street in Clarksville, TN on October 6, 2026, around 5:30 PM. This was our first time ever eating at Jersey Mike's, so when we walked in, we told the employees that we had never been before and weren't sure how everything worked.
The main woman working (I'm assuming she was the manager because she was bossing the other employees around the entire time) looked at us like we were inconveniencing her and seemed annoyed that we didn't know how the ordering process worked. After staring at us for a moment, she asked what we wanted. We explained that we wanted two bowls and a sub, and she started preparing the meat.
Throughout the entire process, she repeatedly stopped to make rude and smart comments toward her coworkers. It was uncomfortable to watch, especially since we were the only customers in the restaurant at the time.
When we got to the vegetables, the woman working that station was actually very nice and patient. She explained how everything worked and was the one positive part of our experience.
My mom had forgotten that she had asked for pepperoni and mentioned it to the woman who had been preparing the meat. Instead of simply adding it, the woman threw her hands up at my mom. My mom said, "Never mind then." The woman responded, "Well, do you want the pepperonis or not?" My mom said not to worry about it. The woman then stormed off toward the back, came back out, and just stared at my mom.
We were the only customers in the restaurant, so there really wasn't any reason to rush or act impatient with us. We completely understand that everyone has bad days, but as first-time customers, being treated like we were stupid for not knowing how the ordering process worked left a pretty bad impression.
The food itself was fine, and the woman working with the vegetables was very kind, but unfortunately the attitude of the person who seemed to be in charge overshadowed the entire experience.
I hope management addresses how customers and coworkers are being treated, because first impressions matter -- especially when someone is trying your restaurant for the first time. read more
