Dan Larson, the owner of Jerry's Roofing, was great to work with. He was on time, professional and gave an honest assessment of the roof with our options for a repair. Both the quotes he provided were reasonable and within the expected range for a reroof and re-shingle. He gave pros and cons for the re-shingle vs reroof and we ended up having the house reroofed. The day of the reroof Dan's team showed up on time and prepped the site laying down tarps around the house and in the garage. They quickly completed the tear off and re-shingle even fining some rotten wood along the way and completed the roof in a timely fashion! Communicating with Dan was great throughout the process where he actively kept an eye out for potential issues during the re-roof. We had 3 roofing companies came in to give estimates. Two of them showed up in nice cars, clean cut and were very complimenting. Dan actually returned my call the next day, he showed up in his work truck, looked like he just came from a job. We decided to go with Dan because he's not a salesperson, he actually does the work with the crew and be on site every day. Also, not only he install new roofs, he also repair them. When we asked him about some fancy new features mentioned by other sales person, he gave us his honest opinions. Overall, he came across very down to earth. So we signed the contract with him right after our meeting. On the installation day, Dan and his crew arrived on time. They worked very efficiently and did a great job cleaning up. They finished our house in 1.5 days (originally estimated 3 days). We took Dan's suggestion to go with Solar Skin and Cooling roofing material, also installed 6 vents on the roof. The difference is huge. We used to have AC and fans on 8 hrs a day, now we don't turn them on until 3pm on a very hot day. We even thought about replacing the AC unit, but now it seems unnecessary. Using Yelp and stopping to inquire at live job sites that I occasionally came across. I ended up getting four estimates in writing and then proceeded to compare apples to apples since we were dealing with the exact same project, my house. After noticing that some estimates didn't include the cost for a permit and allowance for damaged wood, like this estimate did, it became clear to me that this would be the winner. I called Jerrys roofing for a roof estimate. He returned my call the same day and scheduled my free estimate at my convenience. Dan the owner came out to provide an estimate, after having two other extremely outrages estimates, I hired Jerry's to replace a 440 sq. ft. patio roof, per City of Whitter's building code, because I knew it was a fair price. I suggest everyone do their homework on what the cost of materials and labor are theses days before you review a business. Dan is very honest and fair. He will not sell you something you don't need. He also looks out for his workers safety. The crew came with masks on and since I wasn't going to be outside I said I didn't mind if they took them off while they worked. He was professional when he came to my house, called me back when I had questions or left voicemails, and was impressed with the job itself. We just finished cutting the check to pay for our new roof. We did it gladly. Dan's crew was lightning quick. They showed up at 7 am and had my entire roof stripped I think before 10 am. It was a big operation. They put down tarps and made sure everything was covered. By about 2pm our entire house and detached garage were fitted with plywood sheeting and ready for shingles. The next day, the crew showed up at 7 am and got right to work putting on the shingles. By 2 PM they were cleaning up after finishing the entire job...done...over! Everything was left spotless too.
