I needed the front side of my home resided and needed two new windows installed. They were able to come out for an assessment relatively quickly and from the assessment time to a finished product was about six weeks. For the duration of the project, I was able to stay in constant communication and was updated regularly. I appreciate that the owner of the business is actively engaged in all projects as well. While any house project is going to hit your wallet a bit, 1st Choice is definitely worth the cost and has competitive pricing to other companies. I highly recommend 1st Choice Windows And Siding!

I'd wholeheartedly work with them again and recommend them to others!

After getting four quotes, I came to realize that each company pretty much has one type of siding they recommend and install. For one company we interviewed it was LP (engineered wood), for two companies it was Hardie (fiber cement), and for the last company, Superior Industries, it was a material we hadn't heard of before: Gentek ALIGN Composite Cladding (aka Alside ASCEND Composite Cladding). I was initially skeptical because I hadn't come across it in my research. How good could it be? Turns out, amazing. Really glad I called Mike to come take a look, as otherwise we would have ended up spending a lot more to get a not-quite-as-good product. Superior Industries replaced all of our siding, soffits, and facia, and aluminum-wrapped all new trim boards for us. They did precise, high-quality work and it really shows. Communication was good throughout and the guys who did the work were friendly and competent. Mike only has a couple teams, so these guys have been with him for many years and really know their stuff. They listened to everything I had to say, they consulted me when there were any decisions to be made, and they answered all my questions. Everything looks great and we are very pleased.

Extreme disappointment regarding the quality and installation of the 18 Simonton windows I…read morepurchased from JDI. The overall product quality is unsatisfactory, and the installation was subpar. I continue to experience drafts and excessive noise through all the windows. The amount of noise I receive from planes (I live nowhere near an airport) and cars is crazy; it was never like this with my old builder grade windows. Furthermore, the caulking is very sloppy. The owner said he was ok with the work and threatened to place a lien on my property the day after the windows were installed if I didn't pay, even though I was not satisfied. Following the owner's suggestion, I completed a Home Energy Audit. I have attached a few photos from that audit which clearly demonstrate significant temperature differences. I have also attached videos demonstrating the air leakage using a fog machine.(I can't attach all the pictures and videos I have and would be happy to share) After I called the troubleshooter radio show, the owner sent a crew to insulate three of the windows that I felt were the worst (which helped a little). I was then asked to pay for the insulation of the remaining windows. It is unclear why new windows would be installed without proper spray foam insulation in the first place. Additionally, two of the windows still do not close or lock correctly, even after the sashes were replaced twice. Given my significant investment, this has been a regrettable experience.

Replacing Our Interior Doors From the start, Kale came to…read moreour home and gave the sales pitch of a lifetime, from selecting the style to the color and explaining the process from beginning to end. He shared that it would take about 4 to 6 weeks to receive the doors. In addition, being a military veteran, Kale ensured that we received a military discount. Several days later, another employee came and digitally measured all of the doors that were going to be replaced. The big door was going to be 96" across, which was for our den storage closet. He explained the process for this door and what to expect. Five weeks later, our doors were received and installed. The team of two came prepared and installed all the doors within three hours. Talk about professionalism! The doors finish was outstanding, and the black enhanced the white doors. The storage closet, which was 96 inches across, was awesome. One of our neighbors was looking at the work and wanted their phone number, which I gladly gave to them. Living in a retirement community, we do a lot of word-of-mouth referrals for our neighbors. And I'm gladly going to spread the word about this company and their excellent service.

I cannot imagine why I wasn't at least given the option of getting handles at the time of purchase. As an older and small woman, I had a dangerous problem for getting my car out, without any handles. Today, I called to get the problem solved, and a bullying woman would not give me any idea about the cost of getting the handles (which I think should have been there in the first place), AND I was going to have to make two separate appointments, one for an estimate and another for the repair. Unpleasant experience.
