Midway through my procedure, while I was already in the chair and unable to object, I was suddenly told there would be an additional $400 charge because the dentist "found another post." This was particularly frustrating and suspicious because I had already paid $200 for a 3D scan -- a scan that, by its advanced nature, is supposed to show these exact details before the procedure begins. It felt like I was being upcharged for something that should have been detected and disclosed in advance. When I calmly pointed out that this felt like a scam and was ethically questionable, I was met with immediate hostility from the office manager, Linda. Instead of engaging in a professional dialogue, she became defensive, removed the $400 charge, and then had the audacity to tell me, "You should just be thanking us that we took it off," as though I owed them gratitude for not being overcharged for something I never agreed to in the first place. Later, when I attempted to call and speak to her respectfully, she cut me off and snapped, "Don't call me love," in an unnecessarily aggressive and disrespectful tone. Her overall behavior was unprofessional and dismissive -- especially considering I was trying to resolve a legitimate concern about transparency and billing. What stood out even more was her attitude when I said I would be writing a review about my experience. She brushed it off and essentially said, "Go right ahead," making it clear she had no interest in accountability or improving patient care. On top of all this, I had the same procedure done a year and a half ago at a different dental office and only paid $300 with insurance. The discrepancy in price, coupled with the surprise charges and aggressive attitude, raises serious red flags about this office's billing practices and ethical standards. To be completely honest, I couldn't help but feel that Linda was especially dismissive because I'm a Black patient who dared to speak up and question what was happening. I didn't come in yelling or disrespectful -- I came in informed and concerned, and I was treated with contempt for it. Patients deserve honest communication, ethical billing, and to be treated with respect -- regardless of their race or background. I will not be returning, and I hope others take note before trusting this office with their care.

One that would be tough enough to withstand my teeth grinding at night without shattering into pieces. I've tested out many mail-order night guard kits and none of them helped my TMJ issues. Thank goodness I found Dr. Grace Cholakian. She is very knowledgeable and honest. She was able to answer all of my questions without hesitation. She ordered me a custom night guard and I am completely satisfied with how it came out. I'm not clenching or grinding at night and my teeth are staying in place. And I love that I'm not waking up with headaches anymore. I absolutely recommend Dr. Cholakian!

She is making up dates of service and making up procedures!! I checked my records today with my health insurance company and Dr Grace Cholakian is a FRAUD making up DATES of SERVICE and procedures- she claims I got root canal work and other things and on dates I wasn't even in the country! She is being reported and will be out of business soon. Stay away from her she's a pathological liar and unprofessional and should be banned from ever practicing dentistry again! Another friend saw her recently and this dentist said to her your insurance is so bad it's only going to pay me $25 for a cleaning but if you give me $200, I'll do a better job... My friend politely declined and then she didn't even give her a cleaning... The dentist was condescending and completely inappropriate and unprofessional. There are so many negative reviews of her and her fraudulent practices and her incompetency in basic dentist procedures, such as cleanings, etc.... Avoid at all costs. My colleague, a doctor, also saw her and said she had a terrible toxic experience. Grace ruined her teeth and her smile and she had to he get restorative treatment elsewhere.

I left feeling more informed and recognized my "best practices" were contributing to my sensitive teeth rather than helping them. I was told not to use Sensodyne toothpaste everyday (only when needed, don't use any other whitening products (especially baking soda) other than the crest whitening strips (followed by sensodyne) on my teeth. The strips are safer than baking soda. As for my cleanings, she put numbing cream in my mouth first. I've never had another dentist do that before. My teeth were still sensitive though and she did tap into my bottom lip a bit and I left with it bleeding and swollen. It did heal fast but it was tough to eat for 24 hrs. I also liked that they provide a fluoride treatment after cleanings; however, I'm glad I asked about insurance coverage beforehand since mine didn't cover it. Expect to pay around $35 out of pocket or opt out. I was previous prescribed a fluoride toothpaste so I passed on it and decided to use my toothpaste instead. Other than that I did like how clean my teeth came out. I'll attach a before and after photo.
