Went today for a consultation for an implant. Filled out the paperwork online to the best of my ability. I also called the office to ensure that I knew where it was. I spoke or communicated to the office several times before my appointment. When I arrived, I was presented with a bill for $450 before I saw the dentist. I have dental insurance. They said I didn't put the number membership number on the forms that I filled out prior. I don't have a membership number with my plan. They didn't have the decency to ask me the numerous times that I was in contact t with them, either on the phone or emailing? Had I known that he doesn't offer free consultation as and there would be a fee before hand, I never would have wasted my time! The dentist is not the only person that has valuable time. My time is valuable also. read more

Like the other victims here, I came to have my wisdom teeth removed and was beyond nervous about what to expect. All of the staff were really nice and did a good job trying to calm my nerves going in. Even the receptionist was friendly as she showed me all of the out of pocket cost I had to shell out (thank goodness for credit cards lol). The waiting room, offices and bathroom were very clean as well. Dr. Matthews did my initial evaluation which made me even more nervous since a lot of technical talk about my wisdom teeth went over my head. However, once he explained the prognosis, he answered all of my questions. He also iterated that the decision was ultimately mine to make on how many to remove and if I wanted to be put to sleep. Long story short, the procedure went well and I really appreciated the staff continuously trying to make me calm throughout the whole process. read more

THE WORST PATIENT CARE EVER! DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE! If I could give it a -5 star I would. The office manager at this dental practice is disgusting. She is rude, disrespectful & treats paying patients terribly. I called trying to resolve a billing issue, which dates back to 2017. She insists that I owe the money. I tried to explain that, per both my insurances, the dental practice failed to submit a "pre-treatment estimate" & had they done so within 180 days, the insurance would have paid for my bone graphs. However, I couldn't explain because she wouldn't let me get a word in & then hung up the phone on me. Then refused to answer my call. read more

Superb from the beginning to the end. Greeted with professionalism. Efficient staff. The staff is clean seems well managed. I'm a strong believer that the staff is a reflection of their boss and here everyone is kind, efficient, personable and knowledgeable. Removed two of the remaining wisdom tooth with sedation which was not intimidating at all. Of course I was a bit nervous, but with the protection of Hashem coupled by these experienced staff, the procedure took less than 28 mins. I was woken up, not too quite sure when I became cognitive but when I was I was transferred into this peaceful rest area. Def will recommend. I came here this afternoon to get my wisdom teeth removed. The customer/client service that u received from the blonde woman at the front desk was completely out of line and inappropriate. The woman was disgusting, yelling at me about the delay not being her fault and literally said she was "done with me" and she was "upset". As I stood there feeling like my jaw was on the ground as a result of the disgusting behavior, I thought about how uncomfortable I am and how I would never allow my employees to carry on the way she did. I couldn't support a business like that- especially with everyone clearly able to hear and see what was going on. Sad. I wasted my money coming here and will find a better specialist to help me. Don't lose your business because of your front desk representatives! We have got to do better! read more

The waiting area is nice. They have state of the art equipment and front staff is decent and tactful. As for the Dentist and his assistant very rude didnt listen to my request belittle me and spoke to me like a child from the moment I walked in. he couldn't find my vein in one arm he didn't try the other arm he want to go in the back of my hand . I am terrified of needles and he didn't care.I ask him to me give a minute he ask me how much time I want and if i am not allow him do it now I should go to the hospital. I end up walking out in tears after he made that statement a second times. I told one of front desk staff and the nurse he has no bed side manners. He come out to front Yelling at me. Asking why would I say that.. I said the way you are speaking to me now is the exact reason for saying that.. Woke up the next day with bruise on my arm where he attempt inject me for the IV two times . my arm been black and blue for two days. I showed a nurse and she said he probably burst one of my veins for thaT to happen. I end up having emergency surgery from another dental office the next day went off with out a hitch... read more

Dr Nikoyan and his staff are top notch. I was quite apprehensive about having a tooth extracted and I stupidly had been putting it off for quite a long time (please don't do that! I was lucky but it can have consequences). I googled and checked reviews of surgeons for months, I wanted to make sure that my teeth were going to be well cared for. I never came across Forward Oral Surgery. Then one day it popped up during my search and I was amazed at there being several hundred 5 star reviews!! I know you can't believe all that you read but I read through a handful and I liked what I saw. From the moment I made the phone call to schedule my appointment, I felt that I would be in good hands. All of my questions were answered and I was very satisfied so far with choosing this office and Dr. Nikoyan for my surgery. I was very nervous about the whole procedure as I had my wisdom teeth extracted but that was about 20 years ago and I remember how I felt afterwards. The staff were kind and comforting to me on the day of the procedure which immediately began easing my nerves. I was brought into Dr. Nikoyan's office where he went over my x-rays and the procedure. He was very kind and mild mannered which again, made my nerves a little more at ease. Dr. Nikoyan explained to me all of my possible options and it made making my decision easy. I wound up having a tooth extraction along with a bone graft so that in the future I could have an implant. I have to tell you that I did not experience any pain during the procedure. I was givin the option of sedation or a local injection. I chose the local injection as I was having one tooth done so I didn't feel I would need more than that. I am now in the chair and Dr. Nikoyan rubbed my cheek so that I did not even feel the injection which usually feels like a hard pinch. I won't lie, I did feel some pressure as he removed my tooth but not much you can do about that. Let me say, it was pressure and NOT pain... and it was over in a couple of seconds!!!! The worst was now over!! Next was the bone graft. He explained the procedure of making a bone graft which was undeniably impressive!!! Dr. Nikoyan began preparing the graft right in front of me and I was very interested in this technique. Its truly amazing. I am done. The whole procedure was quick, painless and I felt that Dr. Nikoyan and his wonderful staff took great care of me and my well-being. I went home, and was fine. I did not have any pain later on as I listened to Dr.'s orders and took a couple of advils when I got home. Dr. Nikoyan has magical hands!! If you need an oral surgeon, look no further!! Okay, long story short. I have been having a bad day for the last 3 days because my wisdom tooth really hurt. So I really needed the pain to be gone and my best friend sent me to the place where he had his wisdom tooth pulled out. He was right, the moment I got there they were welcoming. Asked me what my problem was and immediately started the paperwork unlike other places where people wait hours to get through, I was in the chair with the doctor Levon. He is so professional I didnt feel a thing, and after a very short peiod the pain is gone. This is the nicest and fastest place I have ever gone to about my health. This was my second visit to Dr. Nikoyan. In my opinion he is one of the top oral surgeons in the area. I was in a lot of pain regarding an infected tooth and he fit me in at the end of his working day, about two weeks ago. Very quickly and efficiently he, using novocaine and gas, excised the abcess caused by the infection and thoroughly irrigated the area so that I didn't need a drain. That being done, he painlessly extracted the infected tooth, and placed cadaver bone in the extracted tooth cavity in order for me to receive an implant in the future. In addition to this, he then "unscrewed" a broken implant for another tooth, also placing cadaver bone to hold a future implant. This second independent procedure also was done quickly, efficiently, and painlessly. I did not need a follow up visit, and am just waiting for the healing to be complete before getting the necessary implants. read more

Dr. Niyokan has a great bedside manner, he's always checking in to make sure you're not in pain; while adding more numbing agent when needed. Quick backstory: many moons ago I had two wisdom tooth extractions by a doc in Wantagh. I was in pain for about 4-6 months (healed and started eating properly on that 6th month). I'm deathly afraid of dentists bc if all the crappy experiences I've had in the past. I found an awesome dentist and have had a few things done since then. Okay so my awesome dentist referred me to Dr. Nikoyan for a consult. After extensive research and reading every review out there for him And I trust my dentist (dr. Garcia-Iriyami) ;0D I finally mustered up the guys to give them a call and make an appt. Everyone was very kind and encouraging. When they did my vitals my Bp was 161.. that's insane so you can see how terrified I was. To the issue: I had either two things that may have needed to be done. 1.) wisdom tooth extraction or 2.) root canal retreatment ... Dr. Nikoyan did a panoramic X-ray and explained everything to me. He was very kind and patient. After talking to my dentist and trusting her judgment I decided to go with the extraction...Two weeks later which was yesterday 2/22/18 I had the extraction done and I asked to be K.O!! Haha the staff were super sweet and it took around 25 mins if that. My hubby was there and so were my cuz and Godson. I felt overwhelmed with joy and I freaking did it!! Dr. Nikoyan is pretty great. They played music, made jokes. It was good. A few hours after I obvi had pain but I'm doing everything I'm supposed to. Today 2/23/18 I'm still in some pain but that's expected plus I'm super sensitive with pain. It's annoying but hopefully this is the answer to my weird pain I've been having for a few months. Amazing doctor, Amazing staff! Dr Nikoyan is one of a kind. The best Oral Surgeon in the area. Removed 4 of my wisdom teeth with IV sedation and did not even took anything for the pain. The office is designed one patient at the time and he spends a good amount of a time explaining everything and making sure all your questions are answered. I didn't even feel this is a surgery office, the staff makes you so comfortable and you choose your own music in the surgery room from Alexa application, my music jammed and while I was enjoying my favorite song I didn't even feel anything and then the doc said you are done with your procedure, I could not believe that the Technique he uses in his office is all about the patient and all my teeth were removed I still didn't know how removed it, because I was still enjoying my music! read more

I was in NYC for a business trip when I got an excruciating tooth nerve ache. After one dentist visit on my second day, I was sent back with ibuprofen. The pain only got worse the next day and I spent my night at the ER, where they told me it's an infection, but nothing antibiotics can't fix. I was sent back once again, on strong narcotics and antibiotics. That morning I woke up in more pain than ever and the left side of my face completely swollen, to a point I couldn't even open my mouth to drink water. My flight was that night, and I was planning on getting back to LA and visiting my dentist then. Thankfully, a friend of mine told me I should see an oral surgeon right away before flying back because it could be dangerous to fly with a tooth infection. She referred me to Dr. Nikoyan. After calling the office and telling them my situation, I was asked to come in right away. They did a CAT scan and told me my nerve was infected and the infection had already spread to the back of my tongue. On a Friday evening Dr. Nikoyan and his team took me in for emergency surgery right away. This was only a few hours before my flight. I woke up feeling so much better already. And most importantly, it was safe for me to fly back. I'm almost fully recovered now and all thanks to Dr. Nikoyan and his team for being so caring and for recognizing the severity of my situation over the phone. I'm not sure what could have happened if I had waited or if they didn't take me in for surgery that day. I'm forever grateful to them. read more

Just had the worst unexplainable experience at Forward Oral Surgery. I scheduled an appointment for my daughter on Friday 10/04/19. Went over insurance and post surgery instructions with receptionist Celine. She also informed me to have her bring a picture ID. After being in pain for several days and commuting via train, bus and an Uber for two hours she arrived today to be told that her college picture ID is not satisfactory. Had Celine specify at the time of the call that my daughter MUST have a NYS ID to receive care other arrangements would have been made. In addition reception called the day before to confirm my appointment... she said my daughter would need an escort, I was attempting to let her know that I discussed with Celine previously, I would not be present at the time of surgery but will be there to pick her up. Celine said that's perfectly fine. While explaining this she rudely and abruptly cut me off to say 'Well that's our policy, she needs an escort, am just making the calls...Am just doing my job, then hangs up the phone' OMG! I was so confused! I had to call her back to ask if she was okay, since her tone and attitude was absolutely not called for. I work in the Medical field at a Surgical Center dealing with patient care and such issues every day. College ID, work ID and passports are completely acceptable. The fact that she failed to communicate their specific 'POLICY' then treat my daughter with such a Lack of compassion and disdain was completely unprofessional and unacceptable! When I tried reasoning with Celine she kept on repeating the 'POLICY' ....not offering any other options or resolve. what ever happened to treating patients in pain with a little bit of care and compassion. My daughter is fully insured and if we had to pay OOP that would not have been an issue. So it really left us wondering what was the real issue because none of it was right or made any sense. After fasting all day for surgery, my daughter now has to commute another 2hrs back home in pain!!! Sometimes in business when you make a mistake or fail to do something you own it and make adjustments to provide the public with good customer service... to protect your brand. It is evident that the practice is furnished with the state of the art equipment and is cultivated based on the patients' needs and comfort. In the course of 6 months my father visited several doctors who could not establish the cause of his chronic headaches and the pain in his jaw. We were recommended to see Dr. Nikoyan, who had diagnosed a problem and performed a surgery with great success. The staff was very meticulous about making sure that he was feeling well after the procedure, they had provided very thorough post-care information and a follow-up phone call later personally from the doctor. I would say at the time of my appointment, everyone seemed very nice, but extremely disorganized. I was brought in and out of the office multiple times back and forth into the waiting room. The receptionist left in the middle of my wait to go get dunkin donuts and the waiting room filled up completely. 2 techs from the back came up and started checking in the patients. After I left, I was told that the claims would be submitted to insurance, well they didn't know what they were doing, the claims were denied because they didn't provide codes, and when I asked for them to be sent back for reprocessing, one receptionist said they were correct and the second said if I wanted it done then do it myself. I asked for an itemized to do it myself and they said they would fax it. Never received it. I got a call from Dr. Nikoyan, who is completely condescending and supposedly he is the coder and provider, even though I was told by the receptionist that there was a certified coder submitting all the claims, well obviously she lied. Dr. Nikoyan stated that he would not send an itemized to me, that if I wanted it I would have to pick it up myself, delaying my claim submission even further. I had to contact my insurance company to call them and tell them that the claims were all wrong and incomplete and to resubmit. This has been a horrible experience. The doctor may seem nice, but this office is not doing things correctly when it comes to dealing with insurance companies. read more
