Dr. Hasday is a good practitioner. His bedside manner is among the best I have seen. He'll put you at ease, explain the work without rushing you, and apparently do the right job. Basically a good dentist and salesman. No problems here. The problem, and it is a big one for me, is his business practices. He quoted a price for his services and then, without any mention exacted significantly more for a "consultation" after the work was done. In this case, tripling the price. Specifically, I visited his office for a cleaning and imaging and was quoted a $ 225 fee. While I was there I asked about tooth pain. He looked at adjacent teeth, never mentioning charges. Upon leaving, I was billed $610 for "Consultation". Some may feel this is fair. No discussion permitted; just my problem. You be the judge. Imaging, which was included with the cleaning must be read by a doctor. So a cleaning must include some consultation. No explanation offered. Just pay up. If a patient feels so bamboozled, eh - robbed - that he is posting in every Internet forum and telling every Rockville Centre resident he knows, Dr. Hasday has failed him. Dr. Hasday might review his billing practices. An otherwise fine practitioner should not be leaving his patients feeling they were dealing with a lier and were ripped off. read more

I have waited well over a year to put to words my experience with Dr. Hasday. I went to him to have an implant done. The experience went smoothly until a couple of days later when my face started to swell. I went back to Dr. Hasday's office and was given a stronger antibiotic to combat the infection that was beginning. Another couple of days and the swelling didn't go down, in fact, the swelling began to spread. Went back to Dr. Hasday, his exact words were that he "was not worried at all" and to wait for the antibiotics to take affect. Two more days later, I went back to his office for the third time. I was told to go to the hospital immediately as it seemed that the infection was spreading down my neck and up my face. I ended up spending FIVE DAYS in the hospital. And that's not even the worst part of the story! Dr. Hasday, while attentive when the implant failed and while I was in the hospital, soon began to ask for payment! Payment for a failed implant that left his patient in the hospital for FIVE DAYS! I thought that there must be a mistake and he assured me that he had to seek payment from me because it could show fault on his part if he didn't! Ultimately, he did return some of the money that I had already paid. Then it was time to re-attempt the implant. The negotiations were on again! I stupidly paid, again, to have the implant done with his office. SECOND IMPLANT ALSO FAILED! So, thousands of dollars spent, 5 days in the hospital, one terrifying infection, one infection/implant removal surgery and still no implant. I recognize that some of what happened was out of Dr. Hasday's hands. However, how he comported himself during one of the worst times of my life, is all him. This is a doctor that does not care about you. Trust me. By the way, I am still receiving calls from his office for payment. read more

I was terrified the night before having a dental implant. I think I slept 2 hours, as I am a dental coward. I was greeted by Denise, who was my nurse. Outstanding. She calmed me down, answered all my questions, and was extremely knowledgeable as she has been with Dr. Hasday for 30 plus years. Dr. Hasday who is himself an Ivy Leager (I saw on his diploma) is incredibly intelligent, caring, TALENTED, and quick. Believe me, this is the man you want working on your mouth. He is very easy to talk with, and makes that all important human connection that is rare with Dr's today in my opinion. It is very very rare you find a Dr. who has both amazing skill, and bedside manner. I had a failed root canal, one of the roots was cracked, and an infection. Dr. Hasday extracted the tooth, and placed an implant. I felt no pain. He even gives a good needle (as you need to be numbed with all dental work). I learned of Dr. Hasday from my dentist and friend Dr. Funk who recommended my wife have an implant the previous year. She had hers done in Dr. Hasday's Massapequa office with fantastic results. I had mine done in his Rockville Centre Office Dental Implants & Periodontology of Rockville Centre. The worst part of this experience for me was the night before as I did not know what to expect, even though I had taken my wife for her procedure a year earlier. I am writing this review 26 hours after the procedure, and am already feeling fantastic. I had some minor throbbing afterwards, which an Advil took care of. That was it. *** Also Dr. Hasday will get back to you with any questions or concerns promptly. He is the complete package, which is why it was easy to give Dr. Hasday a 5 star review. I am a dental phobe. After many years of neglect decided to come to terms with my stupidity and address my teeth. Located a new dentist near my new home who immediately told me I that after years of neglect I required some significant corrections, extractions, surgeries and implants. He referred me to Dr. Hasday as the periodontist he refers his own family to. Could not have been happier with Dr. Hasday and all of his staff. A true gentleman and scholar with kindness, concern and compassion for cowards like me. Worked with me on insurance claims, overall costs and stood by his word on everything. After an initial consultation he layed out a recommended plan of attack over 6-8 months that was tolerable. Strange as it sounds even to me... I actually enjoyed the visits. Eh. Office is nice and staff is wonderful but Dr. Hasday is all business. it's very impersonal. He was running late, which is fine with me because it happens, but he seemed to rush things when he got to me. He dug into my mouth with the novocaine needle without telling me, pressed on my jaw while working until the jaw actually hurt, and then at the end, asked me to pay a 4K bill in full as soon as possible when I had initially told him I would need to pay off a small balance and he said okay. We are done with a 4 month process and I currently owe just under 500 which I think is reasonable. It made me feel embarrassed and angry. Especially after such impersonal treatment. I came to take my wisdom tooth out because my dentist messed up and did not know what to expect. I heard so many bad stories about wisdom teeth but I have to tell you, Dr. Hasday proved them all wrong. He did the procedure in about 10-15 minutes and I did not feel a thing.
