Do not come here. Their front desk is ridiculously disrespectful. The first time we called, they…read moretold us they could give us a disk for my wisdom tooth scan, as I needed to take it to another dentist. They told us there were no extra fees (as our insurance wouldn't cover it) and there was a 10% credit card charge in person. After I had the scan, they told us we couldn't receive a disk. We asked why they told us different over the phone, and they denied any involvement. The next day we called asking to receive the scan however possible, and they told us they'd call us back but never returned the call. It was a holiday weekend, and we expressed urgency regarding this. We called later to further inquire until they put us directly on hold and then hung up after 15-20 minutes. We called after the long weekend, we called back to receive the scan, to which we received a singular screenshot of a 3D scan. This was unacceptable to my other dentist, and we demanded a way to view the scan in its entirety. In return they sent us an email with the same screenshot and a panoramic scan I also had there. Finally, I called and asked them to ask their boss who said he could give it to me, provided I was there with a thumb drive in hand within an hour. I had to drop everything to get my scan!

DO NOT COME HERE. They're sketchy about prices and billing and how much insurance is actually…read morecovering and the dentist is a very aggressive "Upseller" about dental work. I stopped coming to this location because they could be a bit cagey about what's going to be covered and always seemed really insistent that they do the work first and figure out what was covered after the fact I was offput but kept going for a while since at the end of every visit I paid out what I owed and according to them i was square. The event that actually convinced me to stop going was in 2021 when the dentist told me I needed braces and that my insurance "should" cover half of it. In fairness I have an open bite and DO need braces, however I also knew for a fact that they wouldn't be covered as that was one thing my HR rep mentioned specifically as not being covered. I remember the staff they sent in to discuss the cost with me REALLY tried to push it and kept mentioning that it was (It's been a while my numbers might be off.) $8000 but my insurance would cover half so it's REALLY $4000 and I had to remember that that would be spread out monthly over 2 years so REALLY it's $400/mo. The sale felt very aggressive and the general attitude felt like the goal was to get the metal in my mouth and THEN charge the insurance and figure out how much would be covered and charge me the rest after the fact. All good and well for them but i couldn't afford a known $4000 bill, let alone a surprise $8000 bill! And to be honest, i can't even afford the low ball $400/mo bill and, despite what they were saying, I was SURE it was gonna be $800/mo anyway since my insurance wouldn't cover that. I distinctly remember the doctor saying "yeah next time you come in we're gonna have to get you in braces" after I had ALREADY told them that it wouldn't be covered by my insurance and even as a monthly installment, even at the insurance covered price, it was not an expense I could afford. It really turned me off the way the doc tried to act like this was a decision being made FOR me and this was just gonna happen. So i just decided there wouldn't BE a next time to put the braces in and stopped going and let the whole thing go. My last visit was in March 2021. The reason I'm writing this review now in September 2022 is a SURPRISE $120 bill for fillings done in September/October of 2020! The office claims that though they cashed the checks from my insurance company 2 weeks after each visit they didn't notice the insurance was actually covering less than they claimed it was each time. And they just didn't notice until now. I ended up borrowing the money from a friend and just paying the surprise bill on card. But I keep thinking back to how hard they pushed braces and how they kept insisting insurance "Should" cover half of it, And how hard they seemed to be working to get the metal in my mouth before really being clear about the cost. Knowing how they handled the fillings bill I can only assume the braces would have gone the exact same way if I had just let myself get pressured into it! They would have put in the braces on the promise insurance is "Supposed" to cover half, done MONTHS, if not the whole 2 years of adjustments, getting the low checks but not recognizing that they were not being covered by insurance, gotten denied for 2 years and then popped up now in 2022 with a $5000 bill saying "Oh sorry turns out your insurance didn't cover 50% of it after all. But it's all done now so this is what you owe regardless. Covid ya know? Would you like us to do a monthly payment plan or send it to collections and destroy your credit?" Thank GOD I stopped going when I was turned off by how heavily they tried to push braces. ANYWAY regardless of their intentions you can't trust that the bills you get from here are ever the full amount of what you owe because they claim they don't actually compare what they got in the check from insurance to what the cost was until MONTHS (minimum 5 months since my last visit was 2021) OR YEARS (Since the bill was received 2 years after the first visit) after the fact. You may get a bill in the hundreds if you just had a few fillings but if you had extensive work done (Like brace or caps or a root canal) you could get a surprise bill in the thousands! "Covid" is not an acceptable excuse for having no idea what you patients owe you or what actually IS or ISN'T being covered.

Throughout my childhood, almost every checkup visit ended with a diagnosis of several cavities. At first my parents assumed I wasn't brushing my teeth well enough, but things started to seem strange when Dr Sands would say that she found a few more cavities while she was filling ones she had already found. At this point, when I was a teenager, my parents and I agreed that something seemed fishy so we decided that I go to try a new dentist. This new dentist found no cavities in my mouth, just a few months after Dr Sands had found 5 or 6. I have never been back to Dr Sands' office but I have a mouth full of fillings to remind me of the horrible experience I had there. I am very happy with my new dentist and rarely get cavities- however the cavities I have had have been under the fillings from Dr Sands when I was a child. I can't help but wonder if these possible unnecessary fillings have compromised my teeth. My sister had a similar experience. I also know of other families who have left Dr Sands' office unhappy. Please look elsewhere for your child's dentist. Find someone who is honest and fair.

I recommend Dr. Sands to anyone looking for a Pediatric Dentist.
