I am pregnant and on one of the coldest days of the year my heater went out and I noticed my temperature gauge was fluctuating I was able to safely, but coldly, make it Jensen tire on 157th and dodge just before they closed. My father spoke with Gage and asked if thermostat could possibly be the problem. I have an Audi and my vehicle has a diagnostic function where a mechanic can hook up a device to the engine to determine the problem. RATHER than use the diagnostic function Gage, WITHOUT CALLING FOR MY CONSENT, decided to switch out the thermostat. He did, however, tell my father (who does NOT own the car) that that was going to be the solution. I wasn't even called, my father was, (and I am completely capable of discussing my vehicle issues And was the one ultimately responsible for the bill) to say the vehicle was ready for pick up the next day around closing time. I was assured the problem was fixed and set on my way. I made it the 6 blocks home, but noticed, the next morning when I went to work that my heat was still Not working AND the temperature gauge was Still fluctuating I called Gage Immediately- he stated that the vehicle was one of the last ones worked on that day and he would like an opportunity to "recheck" the work. So I attempted to bring the vehicle Back in (at this point I had already been forced to pay $800 for a problem that was not determined to be the cause of the problem) after work that day (the day after it was "fixed". I again attempted to make the drive, pregnant with NO heat on Now the coldest day of the year. My car completely stalled during rush hour on the dodge expressway. After waiting a few minutes for the vehicle's temperature gauge to cool down I was barely able to make it into the Jensen location. By the time I was able to make it in I was so cold I actually Got sick. The next day Gage AGAIN failed to contact me to authorize any more repairs!!! He WENT AHEAD and did $1013 worth of repair on the "timing belt" COMPLETELY WITHOUT MY APPROVAL. He did not even BOTHER to call me throughout the day, I had to call him to find THE WORK HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE!!! At that point, I was forced to accept the bill and take the vehicle, assured it was repaired. THE NEXT DAY I noticed my vehicle was making a LOUD knocking noise, the check engine light began to flash AND the headlight went out as I attempted to make my way to work. I called Gage promptly at 7am when I was told "yes we did note there was a ticking in the engine" THIS WAS NOT AN ISSUE WHEN I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN to simply get the heater fixed! He told me he would speak to a manager and call me later in the day. HE STILL HAS NOT CALLED AND MY VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY NON-DRIVABLE when the only original issue was a broken heater and fluctuating temperature gauge. I felt so disrespected that I, THE SOLE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE, was NEVER ONCE contacted for approval of maintenance or given a quote before the work which ultimately totaled my vehicle. I am 30 years old and capable of discussing my vehicle and never ONCE gave approval for my father to authorize all repair. I LITERALLY PAID ALMOST $2000 TO HAVE SOMEONE TOTAL MY VEHICLE AND STILL HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED. read more
