Horrible, horrible manager, great interactions with other staff. I shop or order from this store frequently and this manager has been rude at every interaction I have had with her. Tried to exchange a broken ornament I received online today and she literally looked me up and down and said "we're not taking that back, you ordered online so WE didn't get your money". No initial hello, just instant rudeness. She didn't even bother to check if I ordered it from them or not. Will NEVER shop there again and it's solely because of her. This is a great Hallmark store. First off the staff is very friendly and helpful - I was made to feel very welcome the moment I walked in the store and had a nice conversation with one of the women at the register. Aside from a wide assortment of cards for every occasion they also have gift wrap, stationary and cute gifts (from Star Wars and comic heroes to Disney and Peanuts). They also have a collection of Christmas ornaments. I ended up walking out with a Moana ornament, something I had been looking for...um...as a gift for a friend's daughter. Really. It's not for me. Plenty of parking in this large plaza. It's located a couple doors down from Hobby Lobby. Definitely a first stop when looking for a card or cute gift. read more

I was able to get the best Mother's Day gift here for my mom. It's refreshing (& surprising) to still have a store like this left. Perfect for special occasions. I do appreciate they limit how many customers are in the store at one time but they also need to be more prompt when a customer is finished and leaving to bring the next customer in and not make them wait even longer. Especially if senior citizens which it was this morning. Also, no one greeted me or offered any help. But what I felt was unprofessional was either the owner and employee or maybe two employees talking about World News and Trump, his Christmas party and COVID-19 and their obvious opinions about Trump. I just don't feel a place of business especially a store that usually makes one feel good should be discussing things like that with customers in the store. One of the few actual card stores left in the area. I will admit I always but my cards at Dollar Tree. Cute / Funny cards for 50 cents or a dollar. You truly can't beat it. I needed a nicer card that I wasn't able to find anywhere else, a congratulations type card. I ended up here and for one card, over $7 later - I had what I needed. I just can't justify spending that much when there are much cheaper options for most occasions. I'm thankful this was available but I will probably only be back in dire needs again. This is the worst Hallmark store! First and last time I'm coming here. Mind you I swear in this post so stop reading if you're going to be hurt/offended. Be warned that this is NOT an official store and they do not accept returns on keepsake ornaments (wtf?). When I initially went in and spent a lot of money on ornaments as I usually do every December at Hallmark I had to ask the worker to give me the gift that comes with the purchase when you exceed a certain amount. The lady acted like she forgot. If you've never been to hallmark then went to this store you were probably robbed. Then I bought this ornament that I know was subpar in quality and tried to get it exchanged/refunded and the lady behind the counter was like "this is EXACTLY what it's supposed to look like". Oh, please I have THOUSANDS of dollars in hallmark ornaments and I know a shit piece when I see it. Needless to say, I will never go back to this Hallmark and make the trip to an Amy's Hallmark (official store) where the service is better and they accept exchanges/returns. I stopped at Jen's Hallmark store in Foothill Ranch on Portola Parkway. I bought one box that has five cards of the Peanuts characters, in three dimensions: so when you open the card, the Peanut characters pop-up. I thought that would make a cool card for five special family and friends. Then I bought one more box of 16 pc Hallmark cards with; Peanuts receiving a gift from little bird, on top of his red house with some snow. Back in the day, there used to be Hallmark stores everywhere, in malls and local shopping centers. Now, it's pretty hard to find one, let alone a decent one. I am a girl who likes getting and sending mail still. Birthday cards, thank you cards, anniversary cards, etc. I am also a girl who loves Peanuts stuff, especially Snoopy. I have been collecting since I have been a kid. I need another Snoopy thing like i need a hole in my head, but I love him :) Needless to say, I love Hallmark stores. I was sad when the former Hallmark store in this Foothill Ranch shopping center went out, but it was slowly dying and needed to go. I was very happy to learn that this new store was now open. This store is full of great Hallmark cards, gift wrap, stationery, collectable character stuff. ornaments, other seasonal items, etc. Besides that, they have a ton of other things like jewelry, stuffed animals, and gift items. It is a fully stocked store. I end up buying more than I come in for usually when I am here. Service is friendly and helpful here, also. No hovering and no pressure to buy stuff, either. So happy I don't have to drive far for Hallmark stuff now. Jen's Hallmark is a very welcome addition to the Foothill Ranch Town Center! read more

This place is a HUGE upgrade compared to the Hallmark that used to be in this plaza two doors down (Cynthia's, I think?). Fully stocked with a wide variety of everything from cards to ornaments to Jim Shore pieces and other items, this is what a vibrant Hallmark looks like. Plus, the service cannot be beat. Would give half of one star if I could. Horrible store owner/manager and staff. I applied almost 2 years ago and was hired and discriminated against based on my disability (I have limited function of my left arm) and was told by the owner that if she would've known of my disability she never would have hired me. The woman I worked with on my first day asked me why I mostly used my right hand, I told her about my disability and the employee then in turn went to the owner and told her and they both confronted me saying I wouldn't be able to do this job. I've had three other jobs and never had an issue with my employers over my disability and completed what was required of me with occasional assistance. It was such a horrible experience that I immediately left in tears and drove home not completing my shift. I've never been treated like that by any employer before. Disability discrimination is real and I would not be posting this for any other reason expect to encourage you to not shop at this particular store and chose another Hallmark location to shop at. read more

I have never been treated like this at any Hallmark location. Very disappointing! I walked out and did not make the purchase. Terrible customer service, all the way to the manager! Ordered an ornament 2 weeks before thanksgiving and was told it would be in, in 3 days. Went to get it on day 4 and it wasn't in. They said they would call me by the end of the week. No call, I wait another 5 days then I placed the call and was told that the other store sends it o er whenever they can. I asked can you call and see the time frame and was told no. I waited again 4 more days placed another call. Still not in. Went by because now it's the day after thanksgiving and I'm feeling like because they are so unorganized that talking to someone in person might help. Lilly then informs me that the wrong one was initially written down and sent to the store. And they were trying to locate another one. At this point I could or should have ordered on line, but was told that they would locate one. I get a call today and go to pick up ornament and ask for them to honor the coupon I had for the original due date and the manager snarkily said.. we didn't tell you to come earlier to see if it was in. She rudely said we would call at which point I reminded her they never did call, ever, not to explain the delay, all I could think was they forgot which is why I initiated both calls. I asked if she could provide a small discount due to their lack and she she actually said no we get no benefit from that. Wow!!! That greed for you, and it's the Christmas season ! Guess they are channeling the Grinch. After reading the reviews which are overwhelmingly 1 star, and most refer to manager and poor customer service with rude attitude. I ordered and paid for a keepsake ornament November 29th,2019. Thanksgiving Day. Planned to pick it up when called. Got the flu the same day and it lasted for the next four days. Got a call sometime durning that time and forgot to call back. Finally called back 12-7 Spoke with Rachel. Told her I had the flu but wanted the ornament. I could not make it in on Sat or Sun. So After work today I went in to pick it up. 12/9/2019 got there about 5:30 pm. My paid for ornament was not in the store. Rather irrated I left because the girl behind the counter was no help. Not Rachel. Went home and checked my credit card statement, the card had been refunded at 12:20PM the cost of the ornament. This really confused me because I had already paid for the item. I guess customer service is not the mantra of Jen's Hallmark. Will most likely never return to the store. read more

I just want to write this review to express my extreme disappointment with this store's customer service and "return policy" regarding their Christmas ornaments. I came to this store with my mom to look for a 2020 ornament on 12/6/20 at approximately 3:30 PM and while they had a few cute ones, I decided against them and purchased a miniature set of Christmas balls and ornament hooks as well as what I thought was a miniature tree topper for a tiny fiber optic tree that I have. They didn't specifically have the tree topper out to view like they did with all of the ornaments and they have paper signs posted saying not to open any of the ornament boxes in the store but to wait until you get home. I excitedly brought my little goodies home to put on my little tree and everything was perfect until I got to the tree topper. Unfortunately, the tree topper was much too large for my tiny tree, so I went back to the store today, 12/7/20, at approximately 4 PM and was told that I could not return the tree topper. I was told that there are signs posted that state that this certain brand of ornament is not allowed to be returned and that it's also printed on my receipt. Well, I didn't see their printed pieces of paper that said no returns. There wasn't one on the display with the miniature items and it seems silly to have it printed on the receipt because by the time you see it there, I'm sure the store associates would tell you it's too late to return it. I can see not accepting returns after Christmas because everyone would buy ornaments to decorate their tree with and then return the items, but this was hardly more than 24 hours after the purchase and way before Christmas. To make matters worse, if I had purchased this item online at Hallmark.com, they would have honored the return. It's just this store that has decided to deny returns. Anyways, to make a long story longer, this just seems like another blow to an already upsetting year with COVID and mandatory evacuations in this area due to wildfires. What's $10 down the drain at this point? I definitely will not be wasting anymore money at this store ever again. read more

Absolutely love Hallmark stores, but this one I was and have been very unhappy. The customer service is extremely poor. No greeting and not very helpful. Unfortunately, its the closest one to home in Mission Viejo. I asked about a complimentary date book and was told I would have to purchased something. I actually dropped by to check the "after Christmas sale" and didn't really find anything I wanted to purchased. This is not the first time I have experienced this kind of service at this Hallmark location. Another time, I had a 5.00 coupon, I purchased a card, total was 4.62. I was told I had to spend .38 cents more to use the coupon, really, come on. Sort of comical to be honest with you. Best of luck to this store, they'll need it. read more

I used to come to this hallmark store when it was owned by someone else years ago. The ladies who used to work here used to help me and knew the product as well as the promotions for gold card customers. They knew the new ornaments that came in during the holidays.... I come in for these things. I want to maximize my coupons and get special ornaments for my family members. I want special items and want to extend my budget... I want to know what's new and different as well as what the promo items are. Today I got to hear about the personal life of the lady behind the counter as I passed by with my teenage daughter . Nobody helped me find a darn thing. Nobody told me what was new. Then- when I finally got to the counter to pay- they told me- oh we can't honor some of these coupons because they're expired - (after they figured out how to pull up my account in the system). I'm tired of wasting my time on sub par service to be treated like I'm a second class citizen. I miss the old hallmark. read more
